  2. Webster - not because I dislike Atkinson, but the Kalas/Webster axis was quality and AW brought TK up Bryan - We’re short at LB of real intent down that side. I don’t think he’s necessarily the best defender, but he provides an all round left side Smith - it’s ironic that we let Smith go because we had Williams, and in part due to injuries. We then get Williams and he’s permanently injured while Korey is fit Brownhill - In hindsight, one of the worst bits of business we did was selling Josh and buying Wells. Wells hasn’t clicked and didn’t fit with our system at the time, and we ended up spending most of the Josh fee on an asset with no resale value that was a square peg in round hole Reid - Now, in the side below that means no real height but I would look at the passing and energy Bobby especially would bring, and it gives us what is lacking at the moment If we then lined up… Bentley Tanner-Kalas-Webster-Bryan Brownhill-Smith -Williams - HNM Weimann- Reid Its work rate, it’s aggressive, it’s pace. It’s an improved version of the Man Utd team tbf Notably only one NP signing there, and it’s because I think those five would improve us in other areas over RB. Atkinson unlucky and James on bench.
  3. Bakinson and Massengo stand off there to let Gardner win the ball. They then jog, and don’t try and catch him. When cross comes in, Gardner on his own. Bakinson in shot 7 yards away. No excuse for that.
  4. That’s schoolboy from Vyner. Stand your ground, don’t get forced a yard the wrong side of the ball. Awful.
  5. Not have they. Their goal was going wide until the deflection
  6. Good to see Graham Roberts making a comeback. Don’t often say it, but Martin could have him for pace
  7. I think some thought has to be given here to time - both as a unit, and at this level. If you look at Saturday, and a back line of Tanner-Kalas-Atkinson-Pring, then you’ve got three of them who haven’t played at this level before this season (two of which haven’t been here six months with the other injured until pre-season), and the other described by NP as not a captain in the traditional sense but someone who leads by example. So, with that, I’d expect them to be relatively uncohesive. I also think that’s one of the reasons why NP likes Baker back there - again, not a great communicator, but the experience aids the collective. Add in NP clearly hasn’t been happy with how the coaching has been done and you’re left with the following: - Inexperienced players - No established leader at this level - Limited time together - Poorly coached? The good news is that the more they play, at least two of those will naturally improve. It’s another reason why this season is about laying foundations
  8. This looks to be it - Talksport Journo:
  9. I think it’s now 100% fair to say that, barring a disaster, you won’t see Vyner or Palmer in the side again while Pearson’s in charge. It can be argued that you can move Pring to CB if injury to Atkinson/Kalas, but he’s not played there and being the option is damning on Zak. As for KP - now behind both Scott and Benarous. Who have less than 10 games between them. They’re done
  10. Missing this one today as on the way back from Cyprus. Question: Is it considered rude to annoy your wife by watching BCTV while she’s trying to sort the passports out in the airport queue?
  11. This is demonstrably brilliant. There were rumours, with tickets on sale at 10:30 and Yate being on the way to Solihull, where Yeovil play today, that Yeovil fans were planning on stopping off at Lodge Road to buy tickets. So in order to buy tickets, people had to show up with proof of a BS37 postcode…or answer general knowledge questions about Yate!
  12. They’ve now announced ticketing for the Yeovil game if you’re not off to Cov. 2000 capacity, 400 to Yeovil. In person sales only from Saturday at Lodge Road for the 1600. Right move as it means locals should get first dibs.
  13. Tbf, we’re really late to the party on this one. Most clubs, at all levels, publicise their playlists in advance - Sunderland is particularly good, splits into fan choice/staple/local band/players choice, and you can go to Spotify thereafter. Easy fan engagement. Can’t see why it’s not happened before
  14. There’s a second entrance (typically used as an exit gate) which is to the other side of the main stand. I’d guess they’ll use that for Yeovil as it naturally allows the funnel in to the side behind the goal where there’s no covered standing. Bit of small safety fencing and stewards, cutting it off halfway behind the goal (if not less, I think Yeovil should get c300 as I think FA cup is 15%). Priority, after season ticket holders, to owners of Yate merchandise or those who donated to keep them afloat during the pandemic (that gets me in!). Then those with a BS37 postcode which might get you in ?
  15. My stance on the away end ticketing is this. It is de facto unreserved, and should be. Mates tickets all aren’t linked and you’d end up with the farcical scenario of three friends in different parts of the end, because ticketing isn’t sophisticated enough to manage them buying separately, but wanting to sit together. However. If you want to sit where you want, don’t come in, at five to three, having got tanked up or coked up before hand and try and force your way to where you want to be, and where other people are sat. If you want it unreserved - fine. But get to your preferred seat and claim it early, and don’t act pro cake by wanting to sit where you want and pro eating it by wanting to turn up when you want, which is invariably the problem that occurs
  16. Dave - I genuinely can’t remember a conversation like that last night. Can you point me to it???
  17. I think the statement is quite abrupt, and if it was health related, I’d have expected it to be a bit warmer. So I go with the theory it’s NP getting rid. A thought is that Carlisle are currently managerless. Simpson had some success there before so might it be he’s going for that?
  18. Probably. He’s a successful singer so doesn’t need the cash.
  19. Having watched highlights… - Scott is a pen (see below) - Wells shot onto post definitely saved - Definitely pen for Forest - Taylor not offside - Taylor definitely handball So, I reckon of 5 decisions 2 are right (the ones Forests way) and 3 are wrong (the ones our way). That’s not bitter, that’s madness.
