  1. I parked there the other day and when I came back there was a note on my car saying “Parking Fine”. I did think I’d done a pretty good parallel park so was delighted with the feedback.
  2. Similar to us but worse base? Edwards maybe trying to change too much too soon and then tailoring to the squad strengths, but because those strengths aren’t as strong (but are the best they have) not seeing results?
  3. I think @CodeRed kept up very well and it’s you that’s the numpty here. No shocks there. I quote : TGH for Willliams On a pure, basic English level that says TGH is coming in for Williams. As they both started that patently can’t be the case. You have a point that rotating the three into two places makes sense, and if you said James for Williams then there is no issue. But you’re suggesting rotating someone out and replacing them with someone who started the last game in the same position and therefore by definition can’t be a replacement. Youre either a troll or a moron.
  4. Looking at this logically - No rotation in defence or GK - no real ability to do so - In midfield, Anis being rotated out would be choice as he’s not played 90 last couple. Similar for TGH at Brum and Sykes is having minutes managed. Knight can’t be left out and it’s 6 days til next game so you can leave him in and rest in week. Williams in view of history 3 in a row unlikely. - Forward NW coming back and minutes managed. Starting twice in a row unlikely. Id be stunned if it’s not - MOL - GT/ZV/RD/CP - MS/MJ/TGH/JK/AM - TC
  5. Does that mean he can’t play now then now then?
  6. Looks to have got a bit tasty (AKA Bridgy seem to have some bloody idiots)
  7. Jesus, I’m beginning to understand why the brother and father in law moved to Australia…
  8. To be more precise, I think they were binned at half time. On the subject of Southampton my dislike of Russell Martin went down several notches last night!
  9. Arbroath today had used all their outfield subs where their striker got injured. The sub keeper had to come on up front to keep them at 11 players when 2-0 down to Raith. And….
  10. My Mums had the same. Although she’s not registered disabled she is elderly and has had major operations meaning she really can’t go very far so has no huge options but to pay up as the proximity is what makes it worthwhile. The devils advocate in me says that over the season it ends up about £16 a game which isn’t of itself unreasonable, but the continual increase is the thing I think that galls here.
  11. I think that’s probably fair. For all the stick he gets, Fleetwood were an odd fit - pretty much the smallest club at that level and success at this point in time would be being just outside the relegation zone. There wasn’t any opportunity to progress and the sack was a case of when as opposed to if. Whether people like him or dislike him, it was a marked step down from us, Sunderland or Hibs and I can’t help but think he’d have been better served taking time out post Hibs to recharge and analyse why it goes wrong in a consistent way for him. As it is, he’s probably done at above L2 level now. No axe to grind with him, no smartearse comments. Just appears he’s made a bad choice and shot himself in the foot.
  12. Good post, and I tend to like these reflecting on the morning after points. Yesterday was interesting on a few fronts - we played against an opponent whose first and only objective was not to lose. I saw an xG stat for them of 0.11 which tells its own story. I think Millwall will be the same so we need to find a way to get through teams like that. The relatively deep sit of Brum meant there was a lack of space behind, and also that we couldn’t go with pace - effectively we were playing through two banks. Notwithstanding that we should have won - I have sympathy with Mehmetis first header as it’s a mishit from Wells, but the second one really should be buried. The possession stat is also interesting - again passes up massively, possession up massively and performance a step down. I’m not that hung up on that aspect from yesterday because the possession stat was driven by Brums approach as opposed to reversion to the approach in Norwich etc. It does however suggest that teams may be happy to let us have the ball when they compare our relative effectiveness - again, Millwall will be interesting but moreso how the pattern develops against PNE and further games. To me, it’s a decent enough point that should have been three but also gives a steer as to an aspect we may need to improve if we are to look upwards.
  13. To be fair, for most people you post frequently enough.
  14. Ignoring the obvious angle of slightly trolling, I think what the OP may be trying to say is which players (if we assume we’re a mid table side) would we need to replace for a sustained top six challenge. Very badly worded to start with but some merit in the debate. It’s also important to note that players who make up a top six side don’t have to be “top six” players - they can just as easily be players who just fit in the style. It boils my piss slightly when people say “yeah but only x would get in the top six” because it disregards flagrantly the basic truth of football - that the best 11 players don’t make the best team. If you were to angle the question around which players may need replacing first to make us a top six side it’s a different question. And if you then go through the side you end up with a ranking order with probably Knight, Sykes, Dickie, Pring and TGH in most peoples top 5-7 so it’s not a huge leap to identify said players, just poorly articulated (Fwiw I like Tanner and he does the job intended. I do think RM will replace but he’s not a lose for me. James does a huge amount of donkey work but I can see logic in replacement in view of age/contract. Hard disagree on Conway and as for Max, he’s improving and the question over his distribution which is the main one is being answered hopefully. I’d like better but I can live with him for now)
  15. Have you seen our kit supply issues over the last two seasons
  16. Your first line: We never really play well in black If you wanted to know why we didn’t wear red all you had to do was ask, but your first line gave exactly what you meant which was intrinsically linked to performance.. Don’t get your arse in your hand when you get pulled up on it!
  17. You know, I think you’re onto something. I had that failure to win due to Birmingham sitting deep and letting us have the ball when we’re better as a counter attacking team, and Anis missing two headers which should have gone in. But now I see that it’s because we wore black. And after being gubbed 3-0 wearing Red at St Andrews last season, I can’t see any holes in your logic. Kudos sir, kudos.
  18. To return to a theme, 64% possession and 250 more passes than the opposition. Leads to a step down in performance - however I think this was more due to the fact that Brum lacked confidence and let us have the ball, seeking to sit deep and take a point - as against an intent to change the style. What it does iterate, again, for whatever reason, is we’re better without the ball. That being said I thought we were the better team and had Mehmeti scored with one or two very presentable chances we win that. The next question is do managers of opposition teams let us have the ball more now having seen results/performances with and without?
  19. On the subject of Anis, you can see (and not just for the second header) he’s drifting central. Pring is then moving into a virtual LM role into the space created. Definitely intentional and something to watch.
  20. Should have scored there - don’t think Mehmeti expected it to come
  21. I for one take solace that the sprinklers are championship ready. Not many clubs can say that truthfully.
  22. Well that’s me told. I was all set to believe it after the women had their faces scanned to enter the game, and after Gavin Marshall had confirmed that it was to be in the game in a future release as opposed to launch but now Ciaran d of one post has spoken, I’ve completely changed my mind.
