  1. Probably, when i picked up mine the just asked name and 1st line of address...
  2. I also remeber a couple of back to back beatings under Wilson, maybe colchester and Bournemouth, 4 nils or similar, I also remember a big loss at peterborough in the same season. Blackpool away where we needed to win to make the play offs and promptly got spanked by 5 or so. The more I think about it wilson did serve up some absolute garbage at times that was way worse than today as bad as it was.
  3. If it's the game I'm thinking of, that was prime Tinnion management, he'd called out the team from the prior week put a load of kids in and promptly got spanked. It was a pretty disgraceful game.
  4. Compare the Bannan card that was overturned and this Saville one and it leaves me scratching my head on the rationale there. Saville was definitely not dangerous and definitely not a clear goalscoring opportunity. Bonus for us that he is missing though I guess.
  5. Think the ref gave it live so it wasn't overturned just confirmed. It looks like a dive, and for me fails the consequence threshold but objectively I think its probably one that I can just about stomach not being turned over by VAR even though I don't think it should be one.
  6. Taking positives from that we reduced them to next to no chances, snuffed out any of their counters when we were pressing. They had a short spell of domination after their tripple sub but it was very short lived. I think if Mehmeti takes either of those chances first half then it would be looked on as a clinical performance. Draw was definitely a fair enough result, it would have been unjust if we lost but we really didn't do anywhere near enough to be able to walk away feeling hard done by not to win even though we were slightly the better side.
  7. After the Blackburn game where I thought we looked like we were going backwards, last 3 games we've been getting progressively better. That was really impressive and we were really good value for that today. It will be typical city to go and lose the next two winnable games, but I thoroughly enjoyed that game and am looking forwards to the next one...
  8. Jamie Oliver and taking your dog for a walk.... ones a pant in the country.
  9. All the comments re. the free kick before, it was blatant from where I was, and a clear yellow. Tanner knew exactly what he was doing.
  10. How bad was our resident poster. Really should have done better to save both of their goals.
  11. Mike Dean says a lot of things...most of which is complete rubbish. (Just quoting for the Mike Dean reference). I have a perception that VAR probably has about a 50:50 rate of overturning bad decisions to overturning good decisions. Rendering it pointless. I see that the article is about EFL so is not really about VAR, but also looking at tge criteria in the article it doesn't include some shocking bits of officiating from prevous games: Norwich game, the linesman 1st half Norwich player stretches for a ball that no exegeration was about a yard out of play (I had as good a view as you can have at the top of the Lansdown) I look down to see where the linesman is and he's runing along not even at the 18 yard box by then with over half the players on the pitch closer to the line than him all looking over in disbelief that a goalkick hasn't been given. The incident vs Sunderland where ref plays advantage when there was none (isolated player with about 3 defenders around him), then makes it 2for1 by not going vack and booking the player for a clear bookable offence). Its that type of decision that is just so obviously and bafflingly bad that wont be picked up by these stats. There are certain referees, Andy Davies and James Linnington spring to mind that whenever you see them Ref any game they just seem to be so consistant with their bad decisions that you question how on earth they can be considered a competant referee. I do think for the most part most refs are ok and that the 85% metric is probably about right and acceptable.
  12. But like most pokey clubs they have been relegated out of the football league previously.
  13. We played there in 2008 I think on boxing day and dont think we were close to selling out then either. Can't find what we took there but the highlights definitely had empty seats at the front.
  14. We are going backwards fast. Manning seems to have sucked any defensive ability out of us whilst also making us look even less likely to score. If there isn't a bounce soon then we are heading for a relegation battle which six weeks or so ago looked impossible.
  15. A lot of mental gymnastics going on there. It simply wasn't a foul and shouldn't have been given as a penalty. It only took one replay to see that. Can't get much more clear and obvious than that.
  16. Think we've had the 3 best chances even if we haven't got the ball into and around the box quite as much as soton. Should really be in front.
  17. Are we playing 5 -2 - 3? Very odd shape at times so far.
  18. The only positive I can really think that has come from var is that it seems to have cut down in some of the egregious diving in the penalty area. On balance var has made the game so much worse and I don't think it can be made to work. I also think that since Howard Webb has come on board things have got worse, I always thought he was hugely overrated as a referre and aside from having good control and pointing stern fingers at players he still seemed to be able to drop massive clangers that got largely overlooked. Whenever you hear refs talk you get the impression that its a bit of a clique and competance doesn't really matter so long as you're one of the lads to get on the elite list.
  19. Christ. Maguire was clear pen. But that is a joke. Evened out but christ.
  20. Dublin watching a different game. Massive dive by kane. Fully deserved a yellow.
  21. I've done 60 of the 92 at their present grounds. There's another 5 current league clubs I've been to old grounds only. I think I'm at 89 grounds to watch city play, I scanned the tables down to national league north and south, I'd forgotten bury and rushden until this thread but did remember kingstonian. I'm not sure how kingstonians ground would sit with the technicalities of the 92 when I saw city play there against kingstonian but afc wimbledon were using it whilst in the league, all a bit irrelevant now as they have a new ground now.
  22. Or more to the point, the left that is left, whose is it?
  23. He's 1 on 1 with the keeper, Bannan has clearly made zero attempt for the ball and only has eyes to bring him down not to give away a penalty. If Bannan is making a sliding last ditch attempt to take the ball and mistimes it then I think it would be an obvious yellow. I think examples of other players only getting yellows are more examples of refs not correctly applying the letter of the law. When Wednesday undoubtedly appeal it the old trope of Bailey Wright getting a 3 match ban on appeal will come out. I think its probably got a decent chance of being overturned on appeal but I don't think that should.
  24. Indeed. Sub 2 hours I've done overnight on empty roads in a car capable of going faster than 50mph. You are not getting there in daytime on a coach in much under 3 hours.
