  1. I believe there is wording along the lines of significant or meaningful contact, I can't remember exactly the wording. Simply being touched doesn't constitute a foul. Grealish managed to cleanly land his foot and continue to then twist and take a dive. Having enginered to get into that position in the first place to then not even be challenged and go down in the manner he did is just wrong. I think it was clearly the dive that took Grealish down and not any sort of slight touch. It didn't look a penalty in real time and even less so on replays. If that Grealish one is the barometer for a penalty then the show reel of city penalties not given should probobly be well into triple figures of penalties turned down rather than hovering around/just into double figures of stonewallers.
  2. There's a lot of inconsistent teams in the play off mix currently and the current points total is slightly below par at the moment to be in the play off spots which is probably why there are so many teams in the mix right now. It relies on 4 teams not picking up their form to make the target points total too high to haul back. It also relies on us keeping the entire current back 4 injury free as I don't think we have alternatives to keep a solid back line playing and winning consistently every week. Also I think Matty James could be added to that has he keeps our shape so well, he has not been immune from injuries. Scott is 1 booking away from a 2 match ban and could conceivably pick up enough for a further 3 matches which would be a big miss. I think if luck is on our side we could go on the sort of run required but it would be asking a lot from us as so far we've had a mini run at the start of the season and the run we've had now in January. At the moment we're on the verge as lose to Norwich and it looks too big a task again, but beat them and we edge that bit closer to making it seem really possible and our odds probably drop a little further.
  3. He got tomlin sent off against us with his tricks. I think he's got better at it with age but he definitely had it in him to wind up then go down like he'd been shot whilst at us.
  4. It wouldn't have though as the ref was consistent in not giving any fouls for pushes anywhere to the point that players were taking the piss as three game went on. But it was a pretty clear foul, for the pen shout, he had to go through both of Well's legs to get to the ball which is a foul. It is getting ridiculous.
  5. Was Semenyo offside for the one late on? I was in the south stand and also not concentrating on whether semenyo might be off or not. The ball bounced and span a bit but no city player touched it after the initial ball. I assume he was well off though originally. My main gripe with that though is the challenge on Semenyo irrespective of being offside or not was a bit of a shocker, their guy lunged from behind and landed on Semenyo's ankle nowhere near getting the ball, really should have been a booking irrespective of offsides. Agree with the earlier point about the ref being poor in the last 15, he really was just making consistantly poor decisions having been fine for most of the rest of the game.
  6. The forest one on scott whilst another shocker not given was before our last penalty at Coventry. It was in the middle of the preceding ridiculous run of no penalties being given.
  7. Definite pen in the sheffield united game baldock smashed into our player, forgotten who maybe wells, whilst in contol of the ball in the box. Clumsy but for me a pretty obvious pen. Tha evening post article whilst highlighting some quite obvious stonewall ones definitely is missing some pretty obvious ones that you would expect to be given far more often than not.
  8. I think there is a typo with what i wote, without referencing the actual rulebook I think below is probably more factually correct. The freekick is taken at the point that the player becomes active which is really where he touched the ball not where he was stood offside originally. But like i said it's a stupid law.
  9. That's correct though and actually should have been deeper into our half. The offside is taken at the point that the player becomes offside which is really where he touched the ball which was 20 yards or so from where he was stood in an "offside" position when the ball was played. It is a stupid rule but it was correct.
  10. I thought that was the rule but I rarely, if ever, see a player not having to leave the pitch after an opposition player is cautioned and they've received treatment.
  11. I think you may have stumbled onto a concept to combine the two.
  12. Watch the bbc highlights, three clear as day penalties. Agree the wood challenge is borderline violent conduct but probably just about a yellow. Scandalous refereeing, the Atkinson one was shocking not to be given. It also missed the one where Scott was 2 handed thrown to the ground and also one where the defender was playing american football with wells on the edge of the area which would have been soft but still a foul. I think we were fouled 5 times at least in the box today, 2 for me were stonewallers. The Scott one has a slight argument for Scott having a nibble but I think they were both at it before he struck out.
  13. I think max would, certainly could, have saved it so going by the above definition it wouldn't have been a shot on target even if to my thinking it should be a shot on target.
  14. How anyone says its not a foul on saka i just don't understand. He is in control of the ball and their guy takes his legs from under him.
  15. I vaguely recall var being not too bad at the last World Cup, only really intervening with shockers. There was still the odd bad call. I might have remembered incorrectly. This year it seems like they have seen what a complete hash the premier league has made of it and thought yes we'll have a bit of that shambles and see how many games we can ruin with crap decisions.
  16. Water off a ducks back to call anything related to fifa corrupt. But they really are.

    Semenyo

My thoughts exactly, he was a passenger last night clearly bottled any challenges and those two stuck out massively. He looked like a player that you'd want to offload and get someone better in to replace last night, and also from all his appearances this season I've seen really.
  18. Assombalonga wasn't challenging for the ball or with taylor moore at the time, from memory he was at least 5 yards from him if not even further.
  19. Sharpe is challenging and involved in the play so he is offside. If the other guy was offside when the ball was played and sharpe wasn't in the picture at all then Vyners header would have meant he was then onside if that makes sense.
  20. There were 4 big decisions for the ref/officials to make, the 1 against us he got right, and the three against us were all wrong. Ignoring that there were also a number of decisions during the game which were odd. The foul on Williams was disgusting and I think you'll struggle to see a worse foul all season. Not even a free kick given. It was an intentional leg breaker, studs up on a planted knee well after the ball and fully knowing what he wanted to do. The goal was offside and a soft foul on Vyner. Wells in my opinion was fouled in the area, was a clumsy challenge on him but a clear foul. It was a truly shocking performance from the referee and from 70 minutes he just played along with their play acting to kill all the momentum in the game we had.
  21. The sky replay showed baldock clattering into wells and using him to stop his run in the direction of the touchline whilst wells had the ball under control. It was only once he had clattered him that they were then side by side. If wells isnt stood there he ends up about 2 yards past wells before he can pivot to the ball It was a definite penalty, Wells was fouled.
  22. He was the ref for the Rotherham game a few years ago I think. Was truly awful and has been poor whenever else I've seen him, he really should not be reffing at anywhere near this standard.
  23. I'm worried i'll struggle to get there for 7.45 but an extra 15 minutes will make all the difference.
  24. I'm pretty sure its 8pm, everywhere else states 8pm like the efl site, west brom site, google. Just bcfc that has it at 7.45. Plus all west brom midweek games seem to kick off at 8.
  25. Is west brom 7.45 or 8pm kick off? I thought it was 8pm....
