As per the above, I have been thoroughly disappointed with Tommy this season. I don’t think the lone role suits him at all, offers very little threat and struggles up against physical CB. With just 18 months to go I would be tempted to sell this month, I don’t think we will get more than £5M to be honest, but we need a better all round striker to progress. A shame as I really hoped this would be his season but lacks that quality required.
FFS, no

To get anywhere we need to add to the squad in January, two quality new faces ( just about any position) would be great, I don’t think we can afford to let anyone go until the summer, as it is squad depth that is the current key concern.

Your original post above for reference. It’s 15% of the contested decision wrong. Let’s say 85% of all decisions are trivial / uncontested, then it’s 15% of the remaining 15% (2.25%) they are getting wrong.
It’s Christmas, the perfect time to get out more.
Enjoy the season, Merry Christmas to you and yours

Worth reading the article…it’s not 85% of all decisions, it’s 85% of key decisions….what is deemed a key decision is in the link.
I did read it, wether you say “key” or “contested”, it is basically the same thing.

It’s an easy claim, I guess over 85% of decisions are obvious (striker shoots , sends ball 20 foot over the stand, decision , goal kick), it’s getting the 15% of contested decisions 100% wrong that is the problem.
To solve the problem, however, you need to begin by getting the players to improve their behaviour. If they are going to try and cheat by diving , feigning injury etc then you can’t blame the referee for occasionally getting duped. Do you blame the householder or the burglar for the crime ?

Part of my match day enjoyment ( often the only enjoyable part) is my pre match pint, don’t like 12.30kick offs

We are a mediocre, bang average Championship side, as simple as that. Sell your quality players each year to the first taker, what else would you expect ?
Cup run would be nice

Why they can’t stock stuff like this in a range of colours, I’ve no idea.
Could do them with the different badges from down the years. Reckon they’d do well
Thanks, that is exactly what I have been looking for. Sure it would sell well as not every one wants , or fits , a replica shirt.

Also , casual tops , why is there nothing worth having in red ?

The range of casual wear is also very poor, and does not cater for older / more mature tastes.

I hope to be proven wrong but I think this sesson will drift to nothingness by mid March.
If we can bring forward some summer business that could help but what's the point really.
By mid March ??? Think we are ahead of the game on that one.

I don't like doing this but I'll quote myself from another thread.
All Prem
Arsenal v Liverpool
Brentford v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Crystal Palace v Everton
Tottenham Hotspur v BurnleyOthers
West Ham v Bristol City
Chelsea v Preston North End
QPR v Bournemouth
Millwall v Leicester CIty
AFC Wimbledon or Ramsgate v Ipswich Town
Fulham v Rotherham UnitedOthers of interest
Sunderland v Newcastle United
Manchester City v Huddersfield Town
Wigan Athletic v Manchester UnitedI would think, one game shown Friday, 2 or 3 Saturday and 3 Sunday. I've highlighted the ones I think most likely to interest TV. Then there are Police recommendations , London ties and even fans travelling from Bristol on the same day.
If I had to bet , I would say Sunday is favourite, but that is a guess.I don't think we will be a live game , but also I doubt the Met will want WHU , us Millwall and Leicester all in town on the same day.
West Ham , Millwall, Chelsea and Spurs on the same day , no way.

We will finish somewhere between 10th and 15th in my opinion, and be as uninspiring as usual. Should anyone shine they will flog them off in the summer.
I’m looking forward to WHU away, and hopefully a cup run, .

Makes us look exactly what we are.
A mid table team that has been able to get points against the sides below us whether we’ve been the better side in those games or not.
Someone said last night, it makes no difference whether Pearson, Manning or Guardiola is in charge, that’s the squad they are working with, no matter what the chairman & Tinnion claim.
So you agree we are a mid table , mediocre , average Championship side ? Nice to see tunes changing

We are really toothless up top, disappointing how we tend to look average v the relegated sides when other clubs go and put in a show. I didn’t get the formation tonight nor the subs, wouldn’t be surprised if Cornick is traded for a powerful, pacy forward as so badly need. Cannot wait for Nakhi to come back, we miss his movement badly
Him and Cornick at the end were a joke, how as a professional footballer can you get into such a good position and serve up that! Appalling, our final ball and execution leaves a lot to be desired.
I felt we shaded the first half, but were toothless in the second. Cornick’s appearance imo actually improved us to a point as he at least provided a target for the increasingly aimless long balls ️ played in the second half.
As to “looking average” , in all honesty that is what we are at this point, an average Championship side, and if we continue to sell off young talent at every opportunity will remain so. Let’s see what Uncle Steve allows In January.

Elements of the sublime, the ridiculous and the entirely mediocre were all on show today. We're a spectacular example of a textbook Championship team and we've just won a textbook Championship football match.
Spot on , and if we keep selling talent as if it arises we will never be anything better. Great result today.

45/92 not counting grounds that are no longer , such as Eastville , Manor Park and Upton Park

Either (a) a sale of the club is about to be concluded and the new owners want their own man, which is why monies weren’t released for Nigel Pearson to spend, so welcome Pep , or (b) it’s Lee Johnson , just in time for Christmas.
-
Well that’s this, and probably another five seasons buggered.
All the best , to Nigel Pearson, for the future, you have been the best, and most professional of Managers we have had in Bristol since Alan Dicks.
We , as it always seems, are going nowhere
Seriously passed off, and wish I hadn’t bought my QPR ticket earlier this week

I’ve got a very uncomfortable feeling, based on nothing but gut instinct, that this might just be Nige’s last game as our manager.. If not, I suspect it will happen in the next international break.
With such a small and depleted squad we need tremendous support to get behind the boys today.. I have absolutely no doubt they will give 100% although it may not be enough. I hope that if we are beaten it is a performance which is a credit to Bristol City FC and the manager. That way it will make it more difficult for NP to be sacked.
After today, things calm down a little, with Sheffield Wednesday at AG next Saturday, followed by QPR away before the international break. With no midweek games, the pressure will be off a little and a few players will hopefully return from injury.
Today it’s going to be about character, commitment, and courage more than anything else on the pitch and the traveling fans can demonstrate all those qualities as much as the players.
Always believe, come on you Reds!
Nigel Pearson is a truthful, if at times blunt, individual. He has already told us , several times, his plan . He will quite simply honour his contract, and then consider his options. In my view he will either walk away from football (which he has indicated) or will get a better offer elsewhere as others will have seen how well he has done.

So unless I’m missing something, every time I go to London (which is quite often), it is cheaper to buy a ticket for Ealing Broadway than Paddington and then just hop back off at the latter? I really don’t understand our train system.
Your mistake is thinking we have a “train system “, or indeed a system for anything under the current ramshackle bunch in power.

Exactly what I was banging on about at the time we gave away Scott. Both had time on their contracts, both would have made a significant difference in a very average league. What we have left is a very average Championship side who will finish somewhere in mid table.
Should FFP be a concern , then manage that situation as any other business would, legitimately as opposed to fiddling COVID figures, but not by selling everything we have that is worth keeping.
No ambition, no guts and no glory , is that what we want from our club? We are certainly use to “ no glory”, as we never win …………all.
I will be at WHU on Sunday, but mainly to tick the stadium of my grounds visited list. As to future games I will be more choosy in future, as I can’t take much more of the rubbish I witnessed at QPR , Birmingham and the Millwall game. Nor do I need to hear anymore crap about learning lessons and so on, what this lot earn, you would hope that they know by now what they are doing.
