  1. A great night. Vivid memories. And three years later (45 years ago) we had climbed to these heady heights!

To be fair to @FNQ he thought that there hadn’t been any press conferences (he had just missed them; he wasn’t complaining about the format)

There were press conferences this week - a bit different and audio only though as done outside at the Children's hospice. Manning’s previous comment about contracts was that they would start talking to players about contracts from this week - highly unlikely that they would be ready to talk to the press about that yet. Manning and Sykes preview Canaries trip - Bristol City FC
  4. Reminds me of Ricky Gervais and guitar lessons: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=L3dxMGzt5mU
  5. He’s renewing all three seats!
  6. Agree - and 9k in fact. I’m not too bothered about the end of replays - not convinced that our two replays this season were good for us given the size of our squad.
  7. Probably because he was part of a league title winning team and we don’t have many of those. As for Cardiff, we chose to sell him there and I’m not aware that he was looking to leave us.
  8. I was charged £1.25 each season ticket - two booked in one transaction and £2.50 charged. This was the Q&A: All Season Tickets purchased over the phone are subject to a £2 booking fee per Season Ticket. For Season Tickets purchased online, each Season Ticket is subject to a £1.25 booking fee, excluding all Under-19 and Under-12 Season Tickets which are fee free when purchasing online. All Carer Season Tickets are fee free.
  9. Seems from this article that he hasn’t been able to dislodge other defenders in the team who have been playing well https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/so-so-unlucky-the-story-of-portsmouth-favourite-s-barren-season-after-bristol-city-s-arrival-s-exciting-fratton-emergence/ar-BB1jbdp3
  10. I’ve always liked going to Fulham. So why is that? - Location plays a big part - easy to get to on the train; pleasant, short and safe walk along the river; plenty of places to eat and drink nearby - A ground with some character/history (not a soulless bowl) - Good sized away allocation.
  11. A blast from the past - nearly 35 now!
  12. Small away allocation I guess then - shame.
  13. I see in fact that they are champions already! Good for him.
  14. Yes pleased for him, especially as they let him ago at the start of his career - must be all the sweeter. Hope he gets another league one winners medal too - unlikely that Derby will catch them.
  15. Preston are helping us tonight. I haven’t ruled out us finishing 10th yet.
  16. Perhaps it’s down to Manning This site (if correct) says Leeds have had more than us (quelle surprise) - 8 v our 6 - but they missed 2. Have Leicester really had 12?! Championship - Penalties received | Transfermarkt
  17. They said: ”Digital Season Tickets will be used again following their successful introduction this season. Current Season Ticket holders using a physical card will have the option to continue to do so next season and should keep hold of their 2023/24 card.”
  18. But I was commenting on your post that said the 5-0 win was “was almost as bad a performance as some of the others”. It was much better than most other performances under Manning and indeed better than most performances this season (even better than v Plymouth under Pearson I would argue given the chances we conceded in that game plus the team that Plymouth put out). Plus our own play forced errors - and indeed most goals scored involve some form of error from the opponent - so I don’t buy the argument that a goal that involves an error does not count.
  19. Yes I assumed they held the Anis sub back because they were checking injury status - it was around the Williams knock so perhaps Williams wasn’t originally going to come off (unless there was someone else they were monitoring)
  20. Spot on. Easily another 3 mins to add to the 5 that had already been added - due to the injuries and a sub in injury time - and the pen was conceded around 98.

    Sykes

I heard the interview pre-match and Manning was just correcting the interviewer who said that he had used King at CB before. So nothing in it.
  22. Yes I have hunch he is sticking with a back 3 with Sykes RWB.
  23. Yes I was looking at the table earlier and I concluded my preference would be for Stoke and Birmingham to go down. It could get interesting for Stoke as their next two matches are against other relegation candidates (Sheff Wed and Plymouth) so if they lose there they will really be in trouble. They then play Southampton before us.
