  1. I reckon he’s worth more than that when you look at what some clubs are paying for players nowadays. He’ll have about 80 appearances under his belt by the end of the season all being well, and he’ll have been sensational in at least half of them!
  2. I’ve been telling my sons to enjoy him while we have him ever since I first watched him for us. He’s a sensational player and he’s got the lot. Our last player who I was this sure would go to the very top was Webster but I think Scott is better than even him. He’s an outrageous talent.
  3. What a ridiculous, horrendous thing to say
  4. Klose has been coaching the kids for a while now as well and they absolutely love him. He's an excellent coach, they loved his approach to sessions and the experiences he shared about his career. They found him hilarious to boot. From what I hear he's a great person to have around. The boys all signed a card for him last night when he said his goodbyes. I don't pretend to know the guy personally but everything I've heard is positive and I hope he's a huge success in his coaching career back in Switzerland.
  5. Klose has left the club tonight, he’s going back to Switzerland to coach and will most likely retire. Sad news, he’s an absolute diamond of a bloke from what I can make out.
  6. He definitely is coaching the youngsters, he’s up at HPC at least one night a week with the youth development phase sides at the moment.
  7. I know nothing about the reasons Klose has been left out as he has, but I do know that he has been coaching the academy this week so he is still very much involved at the club. I imagine he’s doing his coaching badges and from what I hear he’s a great bloke to have around the place and the boys love being around him.
  8. I agree. He’s the legs of that midfield quite apart from anything else. When he adds end product to his game, and he will, he’ll go right to the very top.
  9. I find it remarkable that there are fans out there who don't see what Scott brings. Of course his performance levels fluctuate from time to time, but even when he has a quieter game he still does a ton of dirty work that often goes unnoticed. Cutting off passing lanes, being positionally sound, getting 'stuck in'... He's unbelievably good at those things for a kid his age. I've been watching City for 40 years now. In all that time, I haven't seen a better player at 19 years of age than Alex Scott. He's got it all. His ability to go past players, his energy, his game awareness... all of these things are amazing, regardless of the stage of his career he's at. When you factor in that he's the age he is, it's extraordinary. If and when he leaves, it will be a huge miss for us. I've been saying to my sons for ages now to enjoy him and watch him closely while he's here, because unfortunately we won't have him for long. I just hope he doesn't end up at bloody Bournemouth.... the fact that our players could see them as a step up is a horror show as far as I'm concerned ?
  10. This whole protest thing is embarrassing. When most of the fan base are actively trying to work out what the protest is even about, it’s not hard to work out that it’s pretty pointless. I stand in S82 and enjoy it in the main. I like to be able to stand and get involved in the atmosphere. There are some pretty tiresome things that go on in there though. People adding ‘no surrender’ when the national anthem is sung; booing teams for taking the knee; a lack of patience and quickness to jump on the players’ backs at the first sign of things going against us. All of these things get on my nerves. I imagine this protest is being organised by the people I am describing above. It’s a knee jerk reaction from people who can’t or won’t see the bigger picture and who just want success yesterday, and who would have absolutely no idea how we would achieve it. I hope it falls on its arse and doesn’t happen but if it does I’ll be more than happy to join many others in shouting it down.
  11. We’ve got 3 of us huddled around an iPhone as that’s the only device it will work on. Pathetic.
  12. Virgin media red button is as bad a service as you’ll ever see. We can’t get the app working either.
  13. There is a handover period with Gould over January so if anything is going to change it may well happen sooner than that
  14. Ok, if you’re comparing HPC to most of those clubs then your point about it not being ‘top class’ is a fair one. I watch my son in the same context that you do though and our facilities compare very well with Cardiff, Swansea and other clubs of similar stature to us. They also bare comparison with a number of established Prem clubs, although not those at the very top that you have mentioned (I did say that Chelsea was a different world, and you would expect it to be… I’ve not been to a number of those others you brought up). All of the pitches here are in superb condition and the gym, changing rooms, education facilities and sport science stuff on offer at HPC are way beyond the level you would expect for a club with our record of underachievement. Hopefully we can agree on the fact that the training ground is very much the least of our problems at the moment!
  15. I’m reading a lot of stuff about facilities, the academy, Lansdown’s intentions etc. I understand that people are frustrated at the moment but some of it is no accurate imo. I’m fortunate enough to be at the HPC often, and have visited training grounds all over the midlands, south and south west over the last couple of years. HPC is an absolutely top class facility and is right up there with any I have been to….. the only one that is in a completely different league is Chelsea, which is exactly what you would expect. The ones you mention are also excellent, but ours is right up there with them. Those facilities will stand us in good stead when we’re trying to attract players, for many years to come. The post from @kmpowell is one of the most interesting I’ve seen for a long time. I suspect that one is spot on…. The lack of diversity of thought and the fact that SL has taken too much responsibility is most likely one of the key parts of the problem.
  16. He simply didn’t do that. He said that ‘it was a game where we needed the fans, and they stuck with us in the most part.’ You could tell he was choosing his words very carefully but at no point did he directly blame the fans. I’m as frustrated as the next person at the moment. We’ve all watched plenty of shite football over a number of seasons now and we look like a team in real trouble. There’s plenty to be pissed off with Pearson about at the moment but let’s not invent things that didn’t actually happen.
  17. Scandalous. What is happening to this club? ?
  18. This is an absolute disgrace #justiceforscrumpy
  19. That thought did occur to me too. When it directly costs us points though it’s a pretty ridiculous thing to do though, imo.
  20. Is that right? If it is, then it appears another decent player is about to spend time in the wilderness as has happened with Pring and others. I’ve always been a big supporter of Pearson but falling out with players like this is costing us now. Unless something has happened in training or around the club over the last few weeks, this is bizarre ??
  21. I think his confidence is shot since his injury. He just hasn’t been the same player
  22. Exactly right. You play King at centre half when you’re desperate and have no one else. Or you do it in the middle of a game when you have an injury. Playing him there through choice is a stupid thing to do and we paid for it today. What I don’t understand is how, after a 4 week break and with other centre halves fit, we end up with Pearson thinking he’s the best option. Klose and Atkinson are both available and were both signed by Pearson so why the hell aren’t they playing? It’s a ridiculous situation and I have no doubt it cost us points today.
  23. This was excellent. You can really hear Tinnion’s passion for the club, the youth and his new role. Definitely worth catching up with when you get a minute. We’re in safe hands
  24. Brighton, Brentford, Hull, Watford….. the list goes on and on
  25. If Low is being booed, that is a shocker. It helps no one and could destroy the kid. But God, this is embarrassing.
