And El not even on the bench - another go to player since he has been brought in. Right decision, but even so surprised.

edit - double post.

bit of an historical bogey away trip for us...1-0 walsall..
Used to be, but more recently not played there since 2006 and not lost there for 17 years.
Feels like a draw, but as we beat them first time round, 1-2.

Must confess do not ge this one at all. Why was it being played on the Saturday anyway? Whatever that reason, what has now changed! All seems a huge fudge up.

Interesting as to whether they should count the earlier results, which were of course against West Germany. Cannot ever remember playing them in truth, but do East Germany's results just get deleted from those records, or do the records only count results against a United Germany? Likewise, USSR, Yugoslavia, the old Check side, etc etc.Bear in mind we had never lost to Germany prior to 1968 - most of the meetings before then were England wins, and those that weren't were draws.
Since 2000 it's 4-3 to Germany (England won in the meetings at Euro 2000, the 5-1 in Munich in 2001, and the 2008 friendly in Berlin. Germany's four wins were 1-0 at Wembley in 2000, 4-1 in Bloemfontein in 2010, 2-1 at Wembley in a 2007 friendly, and 1-0 in a friendly at Wembley last November),

Thinking about it, i want to say two minutes, as that is all that was left in the mtach to make good. Not trivia so ruining the thread
A football question
A player is injured in the 88th minute of the match. He receives treatment for 8 minutes on the field. There have been no subs, goals or stoppages other than the said injury. How many minutes of added time will be shown?

Just a quick question, we obviously played better than PV tonight but I was wondering how we played in terms of style? I just read a Port Vale fan calling us a "bunch of hoofball merchants" and having not been at the game I was wondering if this is just sour grapes or an accurate summary of our performance?
Was reading their forum, and did see somebody post "We can't defend set pieces and face a side of hoofball merchants... Great!" In complete fairness I think he was responding to somebody saying their next match was Stevenage, rather than meaning us - I think!
-
I had a text from a mate at the game at half time saying it was close, other than the score!
Will let someone who was there respond, but the games I have seen recently we have resorted to belting it clear now and again, but we have actually tried to play football rather than what I would call long ball.

90:00 +5:44 Goal scored
Goal! Goal! Northampton Town 2, AFC Wimbledon 2. Sammy Moore (AFC Wimbledon) right footed shot from the right side of the six yard box to the top right corner. Assisted by Alan Bennett.
Sulks...

Suppose we should not get to far ahead of ourselves, two difficult games now, and after Notts win, no one at the bottom is pencilled in yet. Still, a bloody fine result. Two more wins to finish it off please.

The gas are going down and now you better believe us
In all seriousness, one point at this stage of the season. Three brown 'uns in your shorts time. I actually fancy Pompey right now to go down - who would have thought it!
-
you greedy bastard!

I suppose its to much to hope for a last minute winner for Northampton to put the cherry on top!

Its City mind - would be happier if those three came in the last four minutes..
Surely not even....No - don't even think it!

Disappointed - Bristol City fan after losing a two goal lead in last twenty minutes to only get an away draw, failing to move further away from the drop zone.
Gutted - Stevenage fan after losing a two goal lead in last ten minutes to lose at home, and drop in to the bottom four.
Lets keep a little perspective!

I'm pointing out we threw away 4 points.
And we got six at Orient and Peterboro.
Ten points from the last five away. Today is a bit of a gutter, as we seemed to be crusing, but has been said, poop happens. Sounds like we started to sit back and invite them on to us, rather than controling the game. Three tricky ones coming up now, would feel much happier with a win against the Vale.

Wolves drew at home to the Shrews same score. Its a sign of not a bad side that when the ball will just not go in, you still keep a clean sheet.
Little moan if you like - back line played in poisition and a clean sheet. Coincidence?
-
Yep, failing a win, 0-0 was in an odd way the next best result.
Other results pretty much ok. Point nearer safety, on to the next one.
-
On way home.
Proud.
Long time since felt that.

Thanked the excellent support today... Lets ALL get behind him for the rest of the season.
Absolutely correct. The issue has never ever been up front, but the centre of our defense. I do think Flint will be missed if he is out, and El is going to be picked whatever, so it seems.

The JET-haters are just incompetent nobodies who are jealous of a competent somebody.
Not been a hater, but he certainly did go through a fair old dip in form. Last few games there does seem to be some evidence he is getting back to form, and a goal today is real icing on the cake.
I am sure every city fan will welcome that.

All things being equal, going Tues as well, not that far from MK. Put ourselves in a position where a couple of decent results now, and we will be able to see the finish line.
Why the heck do 4 go down in this league anyway? Seems no great logic behind it.
-
Stevenage on a charge. Still plenty of games to go, but at the moment looks like Notts and the Shrews, plus any two of the next six. Better odds than we have had for a while. Am I allowed to say a point at boro would be a good one?
-
Huge result - sounds like a match that explians both why we have been struggling, and why we might just have enough to stay up.
Well done the lads, and the fans.
Boring stat, but played 12 teams twice now. Same result in nine, and better in three, in all cases turning previous draws in to wins. Just what is needed.

Sounds like the result was better than the performace, but looks like job pretty much done. Two pens by Sammy, six points off them - easy money when you keep clean sheets, although obviously their pen miss is a big bonus. Win on Friday and we may well be mathmatically safe.
