  1. Tries to remember last time we scored first in a league game... Even after an away point, table looks a lot worse than it did before kick off. Need a few 3 pointers, stating the blindingly obvious.
  2. In isolation, a decent point. Sounds like without being great we were more solid and competitive. In the context of the table, maybe less so. Starting a run of five away out of seven, so need a win or two somewhere in that lot.
  3. Its depressing reading the thread before kick off when the line up was out, and how many fans called this then. How bloody difficult is it to be just bloody average in this league?
  4. Could not make today, but interested in your comments on El - could it be he is better in a position he has played in since before ww2?
  5. Looking at the other results, simply had to win that. Hope he is not stubborn enough to persist with EL, who is either rubbish or out of position, but by Christ we needed that.
  6. Only thing we can be grateful is only losing by two. Sounds very poor and well beaten.
  7. i would have taken each side scoring two before the game....
  8. Our usual front line is not the problem, in my humble opinion.
  9. Its not losing these two games, which were always hard, its how, and that the boss seems to be playing players out of position, and does not seem to know who his strongest side is. A win on Saturday is looking a must.
  10. Jet dropped, or rested for what manger sees is the bigger game is a key question. its just deju vu time and time again at the back.
  11. He has got goals, and everyone seems to agree, even him, that he dould have got a few more. So here is the thing. Given its not entirely clear who we could play as an alternative that would knock them in for fun, what is our best chance of getting the best out of him? Boo, jeer etc, or give him support, notwithstanding his weaknesses?
  12. Well, one more comment then - another thread on him! http://www.concreteroundabout.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9716&start=40 And an interesting away perspective on the game http://www.concreteroundabout.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9740
  13. My last word on this as other things to do, but agree with the post above that he needs to learn a litle more variation with just the goalie to beat. Two games against Mk, scored two in each, could have won or lost both games easily, he missed most likely his easiest chance in both. In a microcosm, Mk sum up our season so far. Not sure what that says! Equally they missed at least one on one that we put down to decent saves. Equally, if we had been told he would score twice today before the game, would we have taken that, regardless of how many chances it took? I suspect so.
  14. I am not sure that is entirely fair. It is being said he has missed 22. I have not counted them, but Its not really 0/22 is it - more like 6/28 or something. For most forwards, I supect their scoring rate on a sample comprised solely of misses is not that great..
  15. There is the conundrum. He really could be the top scorer in the country right now. However to say that to be content with him, because of how the rest of the team is doing, he would have to be the countrys top scorer is setting the bar very high indeed. It is very frustrating, but if we were tighter, I think we would be celebrating his winners much more than his misses. I think...
  16. Well its all about views I guess. Just find it odd those who have a go at our front two for missing chances, as if the chances created are delivered like Xmas presents and completly unrelated to how the two are playing. To be honest, I can find the workrate, missed chances as frustrating as anything to. I cannot think of a City side that so consistently creates chances - I just happen to think a fair bit of that is down to Jet and Sammy themselves!
  17. Some of his finishes have been decent. I to would have liked him to have scored a few more of course, but I refer you to my previous question. Given those chances, how many would he have to have scored at this stage for you to have been content?
  18. If to win, Baldock needs to get a hat trick, then we are in trouble.
  19. Serious question - for those writing him off, given the chances he has certainly had, how many goals do you believe he should have had at this stage of the season, for you to have been happy with his finishing ratio?
  20. Could double that for both the Dongs games this season. For all the frustrations with his, is it our goals for, or goals against that is the core of the problem?
  21. I do think some of the crititism of Sammy if a function partly of just how close most of our games are. It will always be the case of looking at the one that got away. We win 2-1 todayand his misses get less of a spotlight than his two goals. Should he score more for the great chances he gets. Yes. Would any replacement we could conceivably get get those chances in the first place? Much more of an open question, but most likely not. As for JET clearly from reports a bad one today. It cannot just be goals - would we take starting each game with ten players all game if we started every other one, one up? Does need to be more consistent, but one of the few players you feel you enjoy watching when on form. Sammy got two today. Sure he could have got more. The reason we did not win, was letting two in, however, in my view.
  22. Ummm...still to small a sample I guess, but nine points from last five. Its just so tight at the bottom. For us more than most it has been tight margins. 12 draws and 8 losses by an odd goal. Feb will tell us whether we are going to be fine, or deep in the brown stuff. The rest of this month, points are a bonus.
  23. Everyone will have to play them eventuallly. Drawing to many games, but rather fancy our season will turn more on the Feb fixtures than the Jan ones. No reason not fo feel confident looking at that run of games. I hope.
  24. Obviously wanted a win, but MK were in pretty good form, sounds like a decent match, and um, have you looked at the table? Hardly certainly down yet?
  25. Sounds like a hard earned point in the end. Random fact of the day - we won half the points won away in our league today. Home form to see us over the line - I hope! Fancied us to win at 3.00. At 3.01 would happily have taken the draw.
