  1. It was. However just one player attacking the ball.
  2. Must be Reading fans watching that wondering how on earth we are a top scoring side. Defensively, ok. Reading created more chances but you would not say any great ones. I imagine we are winning possession, without really looking like we will do anything with it at all. Really really poor in the final third. One of those if we win 1-0 I suppose people will put down as a perfect away performance, and if we lose 1-0 wonder did we ever turn up and give it a go. It was indeed a half of football.
  3. Pretty much sums us up sp far. Plenty of possession, but Reading looking more dangerous when they have it.
  4. And only lost once mid week. I am sure it is just one of those random things, but seven of our eight wins (including cup) have come mid week.
  5. Whereas glass half empty people like me immediately reacted by thinking, 'umm, Hull, Middlesborough and Coventry all winning, would have liked to see one of two teams starting to get dropped at the bottom'
  6. Not going to lie…yes, I was, a little! Results like today mean a huge amount in terms of settling nerves. With the league so tight, I imagine we feel like at least a dozen set of fans in this league. Thinking, get a small run together, play like we know how we can, we can make the top six. Lose a couple of key players, play as badly as we do from time to time, that bottom scrap is not that far away.
  7. The main one is the round of games that was cancelled recently, we are the only team to have ‘made it up’, against Preston last mid week. Got the 3 points, maybe it cost us a bit against Millwall who had a full week break. Given the League Cup as well made sense for us to get it in early.
  8. Did not expect that, at all. After some poor results and looking frankly a poor side that is just about the perfect match in every single way. Clean sheet, 3 points, couple of goals, even defending 13 corners. Happy as Larry here. Keeps us away from the melee. Delighted and relieved. Not looked, but feels that our midweek form is a lot better than our weekend form?
  9. Played poorly in a poor game really. Having said all that, got back for a point I would have fancied us to hold on too, then a complete rush of blood costs us even that. Incredibly frustrating. To put it mildly.
  10. I would go nowhere near say it had been coming, but we had been a little bit better in the last ten.
  11. Was hoping we could get to half time and regroup. O dear. just looking tired and slow to react. Millwall doing what they do fairly well.

    Klose

Other than a careless free kick that led to the goal, overall a big positive. Also thought Max did well, and in a tight game firstly made no mistakes and secondly made a couple of very decent saves.
  13. Sometimes when yon a bad run, you just need to find a way to win a game, anyway, anyhow. It was not the prettiest game but in fairness to them they found a way against a team on a decent run. Similar effort against Millwall on Saturday and table will look a lot less scary. Winning late on when I thought we had blown the win is going to help confidence as well.
  14. Certainly better than at Birmingham, but that is a very low bar. Preston happy to be well organised at the back and hope to nick one at some stage, which you would not back against them doing. Does not make for great viewing however. Got in some promising positions, but that’s about it. We could do with an ugly 1-0 and it’s still there, but Preston seemed to be growing in to it. Not scored in the last two matches and a half. Given how we set up that is clearly a worry.
  15. No lack of effort, just quality tonight so far. Some promising moves but barely created a chance. Can see why Preston have conceded so few.
  16. Kind of match half the teams in this league will dream about, if they are hard working and well organised...Birmingham, Millwall, Preston, etc etc etc. Not at it today at all.
  17. QPR? Happened to play an in form side. Coventry. Poor, but it happens. This? Really worrying in just about every single way.
  18. Biggest worry for me is how poor we have been in creating anything last two games. Conceding goals from set pieces is also nothing to do with the risk of playing on the front foot. Is a worry.
  19. Not the only player to blame today, bu5 he should be very unhappy with the second and third. Just sums up the performance today.
