This is not necessarily an entirely good thing, but it is worthy of note that we still have Hull, Blackpool, Wigan and Rotherham still to play at AG. The first three of those we dropped painful points against away from home. I view us a bit like Cardiff. Keep thinking they should ultimately be just ok but they keep testing the hypothesis that I might be wrong.

Wigan, Rotherham and Blackpool all look like they will lose, so not a bad night. Think we will have to be better than three of those plus Hull. Is a worry that we are misfiring in front of goal, but the better side at a hard place to go. Just need a forward to find a bit of form, but lots of sides will say that. Shape wise so much better, created chances and really restricted theirs.

FT. Thank god we got something. Not an easy place to go abd we really should have won it. Failing that a point will have to do. Really good effort, it’s points dug out like this that can just make the difference.

One of those nights when just not running for us in the box. Creating the better chances now, just cannot find the composure.

Extremely disappointing. Unable to string two results together it seems. Gave Stoke something to defend, through school boy defending, twice! Just so frustrating and looking more and more like a genuine relegation battle.

Let’s see where it finishes, but it’s painful how little Stoke have had to do to get those two goals.

Just seem that FIFA are jealous of the money the Champions League make and want in on it. Just don’t see how this new thing fits in to any calendar. As for the World Cup, it might be splitting hairs but it already a 190 team World Cup (or whatever the number is). Every one of those teams has the opportunity to qualify for the actual finals. 32 is already a lot, but in fairness it has kind of worked. There will always be more votes to extend it fairly obviously, as most of those who do not qualify will prefer increasing the numbers. It does need somewhere someone will need to say ‘nope, no further’. Logically that is UEFA.

Going to be billed as M v M, but think Griezmann has been fantastic last two matches for them.

France doing a good impression of pre ‘22 England. Get a goal up, sit deep and hope to see it out. They might just do it, but they are more than good enough to carry more threat than this.

I am less gutted than the Euro final. We played well against what might be the best team in the world, and went out after being the best side for a long period. Extremely disappointed but just the way the cookie crumbled today. Cannot be sad about how we played.

Best we have played in a World Cup for decades. Gone head to head with the likely winners and, thin margins and all that.
