  1. In a way, you can be both? Upset is the wrong word for me. I recognise her service and have great respect for that. I do feel a sense of loss for what has been a constant in my life through over six decades. I do not think i would be showing any sign of disrespect to hold football matches and attend them. Just my view.
  2. Just in purely football terms, Fridays match between Burnley and Norwich is off. If other games are on, we play Preston on Saturday and Norwich on Wednesday. From this very narrow perspective, it would be better for us to have at least Saturdays games pulled. Trivial in the great scheme of things, no more than an observation.
  3. Not sure if I am being whooshed here. You posted Then you responded to that Like you were picking a fight with yourself. Does not matter much, just mildly amusing.
  4. Been a great fit for Liverpool, but has a habit of ‘Seventh season’ wobbles. In fairness in todays cut throat managerial merry go round, that’s pretty darned good. Does even Klopp have a shelf life? Could have been any score first half. Also shows when a high line goes wrong it really goes wrong.
  5. When the high line works, its very good. When it doesn’t, it’s mullering time.
  6. Nice to see they are confident enough to give at least some time frame on Kalas. It’s felt like ‘we will have to see how it progresses and whether he can play through pain’ up to now.
  7. At a guess, leaving the pitch without the refs permission.
  8. Peak day yesterday. I thought the Newcastle one was as bad. If it was not a goal, it had to be a penalty. How it is being used is laughable.
  9. Feet on the ground, it’s eight games, etc etc. However, although we were not poor in the first three games, we have played significantly different since Martin has not been a starter. It is never one thing of course, and came down to NP feeling he now has enough pieces in place to not need that kind of role in the staring 11. I am nervous even saying this, but the way we played yesterday, the power and energy, fast transition, even the conceding a goal now and again, there were emerging similarities with the Wolves and Leeds side in their promotion seasons. Can we keep up those energy levels for a whole season? Will injuries spike a thin’ish squad? No idea, but just going to enjoy the moment.
  10. Fair number of our players have their contracts up this season, and are playing for their next one even if not with us. As we saw the season before last at the end that can go pear shaped very quickly. Odds are against us. Some big boys can throw £25m at it in January if they are well in the mix. So much can go wrong, and well, it’s been 8 games. Right now, winning playing some cracking football is much better than the alternative. Enjoy the moment, what happens happens, and heck, sure, let’s dream a little.
  11. Part of this has been force of circumstance of courses but an interesting table.. https://experimental361.com/2022/09/02/squad-retention-2-september-2022/#jp-carousel-33813
  12. We are far exceeding my expectations this season, so whilst understanding what you are saying, nervous is not the right word for me. Excited, enjoying watching them develop, dreaming a little. Don’t get me wrong, would have been gutted to not the get the three points today late on, but even if somehow he had ended 3-3, we still played some lovely stuff that was a joy to watch for long periods. Nervous for me is when we are in a relegation scrape. Don’t know why but for me that is real gut wrenching stuff.
  13. Score very flattering to Blackburn. Lovely lovely win, but by heavens it’s not great for my heart. Thank god we were two up, as a leveller in the 93rd would have been too much to take. Get in! Yes. Lovely jubbly.
  14. Same as Huddersfield in that sense. Some way to go, but looking really good.
  15. Lovely half. Only disappointment is given the quality of our finishing this season that it’s only one. The better side, clearly. Having said that they have had two chances, one in the first minute, where maybe they should have scored. Likely to need another, but on that half you would fancy us to get it. Still led in every match this season.
  16. Difficult to argue WBA did not deserve something from that, but 98th minute will be a bit of a gutter for Burnley. After all their good work defensively, was a defender putting it across the box that led to it. Not just ours late on.
  17. Three of our next four games away at teams currently in the top six. We know we can score goals. Will be really interesting to see how the high line and press holds up at places like Burnley, Norwich and here before the break. At Fulham last year Semenyo scored two crackers, and we still got dicked 5-2. Our midfield and defence will be tested to the fullest and hopefully we hold up better than we did then. Enjoying the journey so far this year. Don’t think it will be 0-0 and hopefully we can shade it. Any BRFC team deserves to be put to the sword as well!
  18. I mean, yes, sure, cut out the mistakes that have cost us points of course. Just in terms of some balance for the Blackpool game, it was his cheeky free kick that directly led to us going 3-2 up in the first place. Yes, his was the major error that led to 3-3, but without his contributions it was arguably 2-2.
