I thought the standard now regardless of length of contract, was to insert ‘but a max of 12 months payout if sacked’. I we really are all in for 3 years then more fool us. Even then, that cost would have to be balanced against the cost of relegation.

Looks like may well be 50+ points needed, given everyone at the bottom bar Rotherham is fighting hard to pick up points. I mean, 6 or so points from 11 matches should be fairly straightforward. Fall off a cliff next 4 and who the bloody hell knows. Picked up nil points from an on paper easy run of matches. Let’s say I would rather go to Stoke on the last day at least 4 points above them.

We are so easy to defend against. Their subs have also made a difference.

We tried exactly what did not work in the past again, and it is not working. Who would have thought it. Nothing in the match really, but we are always giving away a soft goal and do not look like creating anything. We do need a few more points. Cannot completely fall off a cliff.

First Cardiff corner. Goal. Cannot score, cannot keep a clean sheet. Not great is it.

Pass around at the back slowly until we give it away, leading to a dangerous free kick. Luckily nothing came of it, but summed us up so far.

Deserves a 0-0. Both sides poor when they have half a chance, wet surface, poor atmosphere for Cardiff. Good 10 minute spell early on but nothing since then really. One of those we have got used to conceding in then creating nothing.

It might be unfair, but reminds me of a young MBA who arrives at a workplace with lots of new ideas but fails to take anyone with them. Not to say new ideas cannot be good, of course they can, but success comes down as much as anything to man management. I can imagine looking at my Premier league winners medal, going in to work and being told, right, what you really need to do is this... The ‘sale’ behind LM was really an evolutionary one, basically it’s a decent squad that needs fine tuning to push on to the next level. It’s now changed to not his players, cannot do what he wants them to do, may as well chuck in ‘needs three windows’.

Losing, deservedly so, to two teams in the relegation zone on the bounce is not...great. No real signs of improvement, the whole is less than the sum of its parts again. Score flattered us.
