  1. So nearly a self inflicted goal by them. Great at playing out for 45mins, then that within 45 secs.
  2. Decent 0-0 in fairness. At least making a real game of it unlike Leeds. Possibly edged that half. Brooks manages to waltz past players. Both sides also defended well overall.
  3. Southampton having a little spell now. Their high press causes me kittens. Dealt with it well so far but only need to get caught once.
  4. Might be wishful thinking, but against the relegated sides I think the match at Southampton was the closest we got to an actual positive result. Still the typical one goal loss, but took a good goal to win it, and we did have a chance to score late on. Still second best, but by less on the day! Also a function of how they play. Whereas Leeds batter you to death, Southampton bore you to death as you chase the ball, but have the quality to suddenly score good goals. A very hard team to play against when a goal down. Got to lose their run at some stage. If our legs allow, no reason why not tomorrow. 3-0 up at half time, then we change shape and hang on to a 3-2 nervous win but relief at the final whistle.
  5. It seems guidance is that if a goalie gets a blue card, the choice is either to make a permanent sub, or to nominate an outfield player as goalie for ten mins. Would be interesting if nothing else.
  6. We were 2-0 up. Given that I can certainly see the logic in saying now let’s keep it tight and be hard to break down, I assume that is what LM was aiming at. I think the point being made is actually we did not particularly do either of those things in the second half. For whatever reason we gave away far too many chances to say that. Now, none of us know what would have happened without the change in shape. Maybe with tired legs we would have been no better. The result is everything, we take it and move on. It would seem however a fair point of debate as to whether the shape helped or hindered. Otherwise there is no debate other than ‘win, we were good, lose, we were poor’.
  7. Win. Needed that. Should have been out of sight first half, looked knackered second half but got there. Big effort after Forest.
  8. Not sure, but was also reading on their forum they have won something like 8 in a row in shoot outs. If you are an England and City fan, shoot outs are not our favourite thing..
  9. Thanks for taking the time to post that. Enjoyed reading it. As an aside, the VAR check for a penalty was according to the ratio for a potential hand ball by them in their box. In fairness, Owers said on Radio Bristol words to the effect ‘no chance ’ so assume it was not a great shout. On the other hand, our players seemed genuinely convinced their goal was off the hand. Obviously VAR allowed it but one of those is obviously better not on the radio!
  10. Real ‘close but no cigar’ moment. Thought given the last 20 of normal time we would do very well to get to penalties. In the end we should really have won it in the last 15. I see lots who always say ‘I just want to see everyone give 100% for the shirt’. Well, that’s what it looks like when they do, so take a bow. Difficult to know whether these 4 cup games have sucked out some passion from the league games, but want to see the same thing there now.
  11. Good work by the defender in fairness. Should score mind.
  12. Well, bit of a gutter. Will look at it and think we should have won it in the last 15, but gave it everything we had. Is what it is.
  13. Well, not shriek like a banshee when we don’t know what is actually happening. Like his passion in fairness.
  14. Corner us…does not beat first man. It is a thing now for us. Sounds like we had scored, but just missed.
  15. In fairness, starting to sound like we are somewhat now. Or at least trying to, or being forced to.
  16. Great effort. They have sounded more likely than us last 20, but it’s not been all one way in that time.
