Much better watch overall than recent league games so will take that. Certainly looks like it has more goals in it, and got to say in the first half Watford look more likely. Nice to see the other side have a bit of a go, so we always have a chance. Asking a lot for a new formation to just ‘click’ maybe.

Although gate receipts at the prices we charged would not have been huge, £150k for TV and winning is not trivial. Never understood this table. Is it cumulative…ie, if we win round 4 and lose in round 5 do we get £120k or £120k plus £105k?

I mean, objectively it could well have been red. EFL more usually yellow unless ref has an excellent view, with VAR if it’s referred it’s going to be a red.

Would have been more chilled with a second, that on balance we could well have got…but get in!

I think on balance, no VAR is helping us somewhat.

West Ham have managed to miss some real chances, so would not put my mortgage on us seeing it through, but clearly we are making a real game of it, which is all you can ask.

Genuine question. An ‘option to buy’ sounds great, and has the advantage of a price presumably agreed which I can see is a big plus. Equally, it must need parties such as the player to finally agree? I suppose the point is if any player has an absolute blinder other clubs could bid more or at least offer a lot more in wages. Is that how it works? If so are we over egging the value of an option to buy anyway a bit?

Wonder if the bright lights of West Ham are at the back of their minds. Very poor second half, could not react to their subs. However bad the first goal was, it’s was still likely to be another ‘nilL’ away from home.

Only applies when there is VAR, which is a rarity at our level. It is so play can continue to the end, and VAR can then check offside when the late flag goes up, rather than play stops on a false off side flag.

This one would have been a banker for coverage if a replay. Pretty confident ours must be about the most attractive one now.

Not what I was feeling after the first ten, but ended up a little disappointed not to win at the end there. Great effort with total commitment, some great shape and blocks in defence and some really sharp moves on the break. A great effort.
