  1. Stating the bloody obvious, but very dangerous side when up. Some real pace on the transition.
  2. Always get comments about approach, spine, commitment, mentality (or lack of) is games like this. Done ok. Can it not just be now and again the other side is just better than us?
  3. Very simple goal. Not been poor but overall second best. On balance of chances it’s a bit of a smash and grab at half time, but will take it!
  4. Good match for those watching in black and white...
  5. It is. Give us the softest penalty in the world and I for one will be saying we deserve it!
  6. Done alright. Copied this from something I saw which does put it a little in to perspective however… The table the same day last year Most teams had played 11/12 games, Coventry had played 9 Sheff Utd were top - finished 2nd Norwich were 2nd - didn’t make playoffs (13th) Reading were 3rd - Relegated (albeit after pts deduction) QPR were 4th - Almost relegated Burnley were 5th - Champions Swansea were 6th - Finished 10th The play off sides were: 8th (Sunderland) 9th (Luton) 18th (Boro) 24th (Coventry) None of the Bottom 3 at the time got relegated. One of them made the playoff final (Cov) and the another nearly snuck in to the playoffs (WBA) The promotion, playoffs and relegation is not decided in October Still not time to get too worried or excited about what may come by end of the season Unless you’re a Sheff Wed fan
  7. Difficult one. There was no contact but could be a red for being reckless. Dont see a ban on Bamford at all. He does go down but is up very quickly. I think he is entitled to get out the way and protect himself. If he goes rolling around clutching his shin then yea, sure. I think you are giving him the benefit of a lot of doubt however saying he was clearly indicating no contact. Seems to be appealing for a foul, which given the play of the goalie, it arguably was, even with the no contact.
  8. Going to depend on judgement of his underlying fitness, but obviously the difference today. One of those where I mentally poke the table and keep thinking ‘three points against Stoke and...’. Every win is hard fought blah blah blah. Scoring in the last minute sure as hell beats conceding one.
  9. For a crap game, my emotions have been all over the place the last ten.
  10. Football, I have decided after much thought, is at times frustrating.
  11. The only thing worse than watching a game like this is when you end up losing it. Moves from dire to truely depressing.
  12. Rotherham dragging us effectively down to their level, and lo and behold they are a bit better at it than we are. Got a 1-0 mugging written all over it. Still, was a clear penalty. Our fair share of the breaks would help.
  13. Need to get up to the speed of the game quickly. All hustle and bustle from Rotherham which is winning it at the moment.
  14. Three Tier 1 nations in the same group makes it so tough. Oddly SA the one now almost certainly through, having beaten Scotland and got a losing point to Ireland. Quite possible Scotland end up needing to beat Ireland by 8 to go through and knock Ireland out. Yes, on balance unlikely, but if things go their way on the day, the odd card maybe, who knows. Take nothing for granted.
  15. Absolutely brutal game that could have gone either way, but no cards, not even I think a warning needing to be given. Even right at the end ‘’ball not coming out’ just as it did. Yes, SA left some points out there with their kicking, but so did Ireland with their lineouts early on. Its a tough as nails draw for both of them, although I think the main difference may be playing in front of a mainly green crowd v ABs and a blue one v France. In fairness to them both these games take a lot out of you. Good they now have a couple of weeks.
  16. The second half what the doctor ordered really, no drama, nicking another one a cherry on top. Plymouth took some liberties with their line up, and defensively all over the shop in the first half. Important win to give the fans something to cheer at home, and with away at Leicester next means it’s 12 from 8 at worst, no reason it can not be better. Love me a good weekend win. 4 pts in the end from the two home matches, not too shabby.
  17. You can’t really take liberties in this league, as we well know.
  18. Quietly confident we are actually going to get at least a point from this.
  19. That will do. Managed this half well in fairness. Not been a great spectacle, but didn’t need it to be.
  20. Agree with all that. You got to feel there will be a ‘next goal’. In terms of pure football, I thought we were arguably better first half against WBA, but will take this score all day long.
  21. Funny old half really. Lead by two which is great, but never really felt we were in control of the game. Plymouth carry some real danger, matched with some defence you would be disappointed to see on the Downs. All been a bit slapstick at times. Looks like their bench has a lot of first teamers on it, so might tighten up a lot and get nervy if they get one back. Hopefully we can cut out the mistakes and exercise more control second half. Equally, if their defence does not improve would fancy us to get some more.
  22. Sometimes you are two up and feel it’s a cruise. This one has never felt like that, kind of game that could end up 5-5.
  23. Plymouth playing ‘we will out score you’ football, which rarely works in this league. Fancy this one is not over yet mind.
