  1. I always get a bit confused by this rule. It used to be anyway not so much that it is a deliberate pass, more a deliberate attempt to play the ball, even if it goes not where you intended. A straightforward ‘the ball hits you and it deflects’ does not count, so lots of room for interpretation there. Is throwing yourself in front a deliberate attempt to play the ball?
  2. He didn’t have to check as such, just pull up spreadsheet 8.6 tab iii).
  3. Stupid early days of course, but as an aside the 4 teams we have played so far are 3rd, 5th, 8th and 10th. Of their 16 matches, they have won 10, and of the six they have failed to, 3 of those have been against us. Be surprised if they all finish that high, but at the very least we have been playing sides in decent form.
  4. Another day we score four. By far our best attacking performance and the kind of game that can be enjoyed in this league. Real signs of hope after a couple of frankly pretty dull matches. Gutted for Andi.
  5. If that is what transpires, it really is shocking bad luck, for us and mainly of course for him. Whatever it it’s, obviously first and foremost you have to hope he makes a full recovery.
  6. We are all speculating a bit, and maybe that is the case. There is also I think a non zero chance that SL does not want to push the boat out any more….full stop. For any manager.
  7. Is this somebody who has any track record, or one of the chancers?
  8. The mood music from SL seemed to imply that he was just starting to annoy AS by delaying it haggling. He wanted off. Just also worth saying with all the ‘how will we cope without him’ stuff, by the sounds of it he is out until December injured anyway. Even if he stayed we would be in exactly the same position as we are now, actually even worse off with less flexibility to bring others in.
  9. We also need enough fit players covering positions to stay out of the bottom six...
  10. Agree with all that. In complete fairness, you are however entirely in their hands anyway. They could say it says ‘up the reds’ and you would have no way of telling it said ‘sack the Board’ until it was held up anyway. I suppose you either trust them or you don’t, and no reason not to.
  11. I am sorry for your friend, and I am sure we can all come up in our minds with some kind of scenario where this women somehow set this up. That is why we have to accept somebody is innocent until proven guilt legally. I am also wary of a kind of trial by media (or social media). Equally I work with children, and there is a whole pile of stuff I could do that would lead me to lose my job, quire rightly, that do not pass any legal conviction threshold. Lets just remind ourselves one piece of the evidence that did exist, the recording. Leaving it as a link in case anyone does not wish to see it: Imgur: The magic of the Internet
  12. Correct, although sexual assault cases are hard at the bit of times as it can be ‘he said, she said’. When the CPS found out the victim had withdrawn it was almost impossible for them. All she had to say was it was a consensual game. She was hit so often she ended up taking pictures. She was assaulted so often she ended up recording it. This got released. Not going to post it here but easy to find and is deeply disturbing. A man with so few boundaries he got sent home from an England camp. At this stage her own dad sided with Mason. There was a bail condition that Mason should not contact her. He did. Indeed to the extent she got pregnant and charges were dropped when she made it clear she would not testify. As a young man, he should be given the opportunity for personal growth and development, sure. Let him go and work in a food bank for 12 months. He is not the victim here.
  13. Man Utd seem to be managing PR hard and developing a line that ‘we have seen extensive other evidence that we cannot share, so trust us ok’. Also said they want to see what their women players currently at the World Cup think, which is outrageous in putting them in the firing line. Its clearly a money call. I think they are in danger of misjudging this badly as ‘yep, some fans will moan but will get over it the first time he scores’. There is at least a chance however this spins out of their control, and frankly the moment sponsors start worrying this is impacting their brand, that is when they will be hammered. Quite rightly.
  14. Ross is an odd one for sure. Just seemed like an infection but seems that be dragging now. Hopefully it all clears up soon. Three games now before the international break? Not sure it is worth rushing any of them back if the rest of the squad stays fine.
  15. Random fact from the report of the match…’After the match, the Manchester United mascot, a goat named Billy, drank too much champagne and died of alcohol poisoning. His head was preserved and hangs on the wall of the Manchester United museum at Old Trafford.’
  16. The table is not entirely clear, but think it is of the 42 teams in the top two leagues. We are 19th out of 42 so very mid table. Also worth adding maybe it is vehicle crime reported during the season around the ground, not just during matches. Gives an idea how high this type is in the area I guess.
  17. I have looked again and come to the conclusion our goalie is wearing the white shorts on the far touchline. Was waiting for the break.
  18. Going to be Norwich. Winner in the 9th minute of injury time.
  19. Good spot, not obvious it could be anyone else. Also interesting the officials? you can see. Already presumably looks like one to see if the ball has crossed the line, two ‘lineman’ on the same side? Decent crowd!
  20. Yep. It’s a balance but do not want to over play it. It was noticeable last game 4 or 5 times late on we gave the ball away in our half and the only time we looked in danger. Just once I spotted that half. Dont want to be giving the ref any decisions to make in our box for sure either.
  21. Better team by some distance that half. Long way to go etc etc, but if they can nick a second I think the game fizzles out.
  22. What I have learn’t from the World Cup commentary is men’s team break and counter attack whereas women’s teams ‘transition’. Pivot just seems a modern fancy term for defensive midfielder.
