  1. Certainly were the better side second half by the sounds of it. First half, really poor. Having said that, it is all about results and this has to be good for confidence. I suspect Wigan will feel like us a fair bit of the first half of last season, doing ok seemingly, but coming away with nothing. All three promoted teams losing.
  2. Should also remember they have five debutants today. Cannot really use it as an excuse. Sounded like we played very little football that half.
  3. Sounded like we can little complaints about the half time score. Sounded pretty scrappy all round, but Wigan playing the better football. Need to raise the tempo, stating the blooming obvious, but would not want to start with a home defeat.
  4. Umm. Issue was always how quickly the new players would fit it - just not gelling as a team so far. Ho hum!
  5. A man was stopped by the police around 2 am. The officer asked him where he was going at that time of night. The man replied, "I'm on my way to a lecture about alcohol abuse and the effects it has on the human body, as well as smoking and staying out late." The officer then asked, "Really? Who's giving that lecture at this time of night?" The man replied, "That would be my wife."
  6. Three mods walk in to a pub. [removed]
  7. I suppose that is just possible. He is right however about five bad results at Leeds and you are done. Would need a mad man, or somebody who is desperate, to take that role in my book.
  8. Its kind of inpossible to say, although I think their away strip was the blue you see a few wearing at the front. Looks to me just a dude wearing red with a Grimsby scarf. For all I know might be one of ours. Who knows or cares. I pop in to this thread and find it helpful to see all the gas stuff in one place, rather than in seperate threads. I enjoy the bit of banter with some gas fans who engage. Endless posts about 'kill the thread they are irrelevant', and from gas fans who just join up to post endlessly about how obsessed we are with them (think about that for one moment) do get dull however. In some ways hope there are no more Derbys for decades, in other ways, would love them again. One bad season away for us in truth now but who knows. Way its been for a lot of my life.
  9. You assume he was using it as a mathematical symbol, rather than just a rather more exciting 'dash'...and even then it is KS2.. Please map out, as currently stands, FGR < Bristol Rovers < Bristol City. Happier?
  10. Lets face it, supporting lower league sides, you put up with a lot of poo moments, because every now and again you get a moment that makes it all worthwhile. Just their turn today.
  11. Great read as always. Interested to see if Gladwin starts for them, after his injury here. Lee always seens to speak highly of him, and half wonder if it is a player he wants to keep an eye on.
  12. Back in the day really enjoyed the match ups, and nothing wrong with either side giving it some. In the times when there are issues bigger that football the fans have come together. Much rather see a local lass or kid in a Rovers shirt than a Man Utd one, but half the fun was bragging rights, giving it out, and occasionally having to take it!
  13. Maybe a little churlish on my part, but assuming we have a budget of, what, £10m, it does come down to how much of that Tomlin would use up of that. It is easy for us to say £5m, no pay £8m etc, but it will come down to what pot SL is prepared to sanction.
  14. Think it is more a case of what the the top end SL is willing to pay. Not sure how long is left on his contract, and I am sure his agent will be looking around, maybe other bottom end premier sides? Is a huge outlay on one player in trying to build a balanced squad for next year, and may close down other options, assuming we have a fixed fighting fund for transfers. Would love it if he came, if we can make it work.
  15. Accrington win. O dear, so sad, never mind. Cardiff lose. O dear, so sad, never mind.
  16. Done really well. He has also done it, I have to say, without ever looking the finished article. Hats off to him.
  17. Offside, Bristol City. Marlon Pack tries a through ball, but Jonathan Kodjia is caught offside. Bloody useless that Kodjia.
  18. Sounded really good this half. Odd to look at, as things stand, being level on points with Reading, who I do not view as ever having been in trouble.
  19. Sounded poor to be honest, but a goal always brightens it up. Difficult I guess for either side to bust a gut, given the circumstances. An Accrington goal would also be pleasing.
