They must be the only club in the country to have 'potential support"

Their "build and they will come" theory of supporter attendance growth is wholly based on the concept of potential support. Of course, this is not baseless. Highly skilled gas data analysts have made complex calculations against verified sources including: IKEA nee Eastville attendance data from the 1950s (closest comparable stadium and demographic); 40,000, no 50,000 or could it have been 60,000 at Wembley; 8,000 at Blackpool; 20,000 locked out at Maidstone/Maidenhead etc.; and the reoccurring problem of the many 1000's locked out of the memorial stadium on a weekly basis.

Findings are clear, the Mem should have an all seated and covered capacity of between 18 and 96,000, once in place crowds will flock, the team will perform and Rovers will realise their potential support.

    Simples!

Our first season in Div 4 is the only season in the last 56 years where they’ve had higher average crowds. The following season with us still in Div 4 and them in Div 3 we averaged higher crowds than them

What they consistently fail to mention whenever they talk about our poor crowds in the early 80s is that their attendances were either just as bad, or worse than ours.

They also seem to forget it's been 48 years since they last managed an average attendance over 10k and only gained a season highest attendance of over 10k 20 times during that period.....so their "potential support" theory seems to have little substance either!

Specsavers have some good deals?    Unfortunately it's too late for you......the only thing Average about Super Bob...was his goal scoring average of 1 goal in every 2 games!   P.S.  Happy Birthday Bob, for Saturday 3rd Feb !!

For us, once he stepped up a league he was not so super and nor was the service he received....and then came King Cole...who showed that super was not bolt on average!

Oh yes he was a fans favourite for sure.

He was, and when considering great players we need to do this contextually - the best and most skilful city player I've ever seen was young Mr Scott, and that's since the 60s, however, most players today have learned from the past and are much more skilful and fit than the previous generation....thus it has always been...please, no comments about ball weight and pitch condition😂😂😂😂😂😂

Pretty sure the earlier match was postponed because saying boneheads decided to set fire to the stadium. We'd have beaten them off played on the original day, so I blame the bell ends with the lighters.

I thought it was a waterlogged pitch, can’t remember if it was due to the weather or them leaving the hose on overnight- or both

It does seem bizarre to go into the rest of the season with more loan players than you can actually use.

Still apparently their fans were celebrating having a goalkeeper today who is their own player.

    Weird lot.

Were they singing “he’s one of our own (6 webbed fingers on each hand always an advantage between the sticks)” or “he’s one that we own”?

    They missed the paragraph…..

”Jamie McAllister also played for Bristol City under Gary Johnson and was part of the 2008 Championship Play-Off Final team that came within 90 minutes of reaching the Premier League. Jamie is the latest addition in what is becoming a long line of ex 1982 ******* Ted ***** to join our faithful and prowed famous quarters”

I don't think it it fair to our ex players/failed coaches to call the Sags such names as "the city dustbin", "City reject central", "City Bide-a-Wee Rest Home" etc... Perhaps a better title would be "Bristol Rovers, The Bristol City FC Former employees pension top-up programme Association Football Club" - a long title for those long in the tooth(or denture)!

They’ve finally formally announced Jamie Mac, giving details of both his playing and coaching career in full:

Because, of course, the massive gaseous army are far to gulable and stupid to suspect a few of his CV entries might be missing ? or is it the club that are the thick pricks?

Not sure how some of these chaps would have gone in the eighties if 'this is the worst I've ever seen'...

That’s not quite how it works Weepywall. The attendance will of course be claimed as over 10,000 but the correct process with their attendances is to start with the actual much lower attendance and gradually increase it over a number of posts until the fictional figure is arrived at and made into a ‘fact’

Perhaps they should just go for "Potential Attendance", which would dispense with any of the usual restricting factors such as: ground capacity, balloon fiestas, school fates, the truth.....

The problem with that is they have spent years trying to pretend they are better supported by the spurious use of "% of the ground filled", that's why they were actually quite excited when the capacity was reduced. This meant that 7500 was about 90/95% of their potential gate, while our 22k was a mere 80% of our capacity. (See references to gas logic antea)

The sudden increase of capacity without the forecast increase in actual supporters will be a disaster for them from this perspective alone.

One also has to wonder what incentive there is for the owners to invest in other parts of the ground if there is no discernable increase in attendance and income from that expenditure.

Build and they will come......and they did.....all over their keyboards and phones!

My mistake..that was the crowd at Blackpool in December...sorry 🤦‍♂️

I suppose we could start a sweep on how many fewer the fewer’s attendance was than that, and why?

I’m going for 2576 below - traffic congestion at IKEA disrupted bus service
