  1. Obviously fake news. They could never afford something as grand as this. And why would they? They would never be able to fill it. You almost had me there.
  2. Chasing rainbows - it's what we do.
  3. You may well be, but is it based on something really tangible and evidential? This is what the Dumbdowns and Brian Minion have thrived on, and continue to do so. Get the fans to focus on the "exciting" future, never mind about what's happening now. The distraction is no longer as alluring as it once was. "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me"
  4. In the time it takes to work that out, I'll probably manage to empty out Chew Valley Lake with a teaspoon.
  5. Another coded allegation concerning the Duke of York? Cue the Pizza Express alibi.
  6. True, but it's becoming harder to find any takers. Now that's really telling.
  7. Based on last night's and other recent performances, many fans will rightly claim they've been sold out.
  8. Maybe our invincible overlords misinterpreted your "Get rid of Ian Downs" missive as "Get rid of the Lans Downs" So, to spite you, in a mad panic, they got rid of Pearson, to cover-up their incompetence. I have often wondered what triggered that sudden, inexplicable faux pas. Meanwhile, Downsy continues to wreak havoc and make our ears bleed.
  9. A lot of truth in what you say, certainly for my lot. But unfortunately, the habit of a lifetime is beginning to lose it's lustre, especially as it's becoming more and more expensive.
  10. So Pearson (allegedly) was barely at the training ground, but Manning is there all the time. So, with the benefit of that, is our football and PPG any better now? it certainly should be, but unfortunately it is not.
  11. Straws are there to be clutched, but they really ain’t much use if you’re drowning.
  12. It’s hard to see so many empty seats all around the ground, (even when we’re not being televised live). Several of my family and friends have season tickets (and have done for years), but now don’t bother to come. They say (and in all truth, I can’t argue) that our style of play is too ponderous and one-dimensional. The excitement and atmosphere fans crave has gone as much of our football is boring and predictable with far too few goals and goalmouth action. Whatever bullshit hype is dished out ahead of next season, I reckon many supporters won’t be buying or renewing season tickets.
  13. No doubt about it, we were really poor and totally outplayed for virtually the whole game. For those who go on about how good Leeds are, let’s remember that other clubs outside of the top six, have beaten them or got a draw. They are a good team, but not invincible. We gave them far too much respect, room and time, and it looked like we went into the game lacking belief and ideas. Contrast that with how pretty-average Preston applied themselves when they beat Leeds recently.
  14. Sending him to jail seems harsh, but it might just work.
  15. Good song for our new buddy. Even though some will say “Oh dire me”
  16. Mebude may well be our loan striker up front. As he’s Scottish, using an improvised Scottish accent, our new friend’s nickname could be Ma Buddy.
  17. Going by that rate, by tomorrow morning he’ll have disappeared, and we’ll wake up thinking it was all just a dream.
  18. Well said Isewater, old chap. Like Johnny Tillotson's song, your musings are simply "Poetry emotion" (sic)
  19. If a fan stands the same as anyone else, do they Kop it?
  20. Don’t mind us being called “dirty” as long as we keep clean sheets. However, Leeds calling us “dirty” just won’t wash with many on this forum. And finally, I have seen numerous posts where fellow Reds refer to the constant “wash, rinse, repeat” cycles at this club. Okay, I’ll dry up now.
  21. Sounds like he's a bit of a Nott case. Am I right? Is that him or Nottm?
  22. Because of our injuries and suspensions, because of the additional players they will have available, and because they need a good cup run, I think Forest will beat us. But we all know football is so unpredictable. After the humiliation of failing to get a trip to Liverpool, the miserable Fewers will be crapping their pants and praying that we lose. The pain for them will be unbearable if we are lucky enough to secure a home tie against Man Utd, bringing with it a sell-out crowd, financial rewards and global TV exposure. Personally I'm not that bothered about the Cup, as I want us to concentrate on getting up the table, But for the many supporters who want us to do well in the Cup, I hope the team delivers.
