    That penalty was the killer.

    3-1 and 11 v 10.

Tomlin has a lot to say about his own ability and he has to live up to it - he didn't tonight and he hasn't so far this season. He has to live up to his own hype and keep his gob shut. If he wants to talk the talk - walk the ******* walk.

But we threw it away anyway with bad defending after that poor penalty miss and resultant sending off of O'Neil - he will be missed more than any other player in the squad against Derby. But we have Korey Smith back which is a softener.

Back to the drawing board for LJ - we aint the done deal, long long way to go till we get anywhere near it, that game tonight proves it.

Devastating result which is reminiscent of last season (it seemed inevitable),  I hope it doesn't have too much effect on the players.

Great first half, shite second half for us - reverse of just about every other game this season.

LJ will be apoplectic with those players and rightly so - couldn't see out a 2-0 lead.

    Bottled it.

Yep I agree,Has anyone ever missed a penalty before? I'm gonna google it

  2. I keep saying it, El-abd is too slow for fullback and too small for centre back. Plus he cannot judge a high ball for toffee. Why exactly did we sign him again? And on such a long bloody contract?! He is single handedly losing us games due to his inability

So how did he manage to conceal such obvious flaws from Brighton for all these years? Lucky we've got you to point them out for us after four or five games.
  3. Maybe with all his money he should headhunt someone who knows how to appoint a football manager........and insist that they ignore any suggestion or input that he (Landsdown that is) may propose?

Just go and concentrate on what he's good at. There are numerous things I'm completely crap at but I recognize this and concentrate on the areas in which I can achieve. Whilst he's in charge nothing will change. Love the new stadium though.

  4. You are correct.

From what i gather Warnock offered his services until the end of the season to keep us up and maybe go on from there.

I was told this by someone with VERY close ties to the club, once employed at Ashton Gate in a high capacity and still in touch with many current employees/Directors

You know, can't help myself but I feel sorry for the bloke. You have to be pretty unlucky to make so many disasterous decisions over such a short period of time. Appears to have slightly more money than me , so that probably compensates a little but when it comes to football he's a talentless embarrassment. Nothing he does makes sense, no continuity in his approach. Damage limitation, rarely the cheap option but always looking for value. Ambition up to a point.

  5. Did I read somewhere on here that Lansdown said in one of his Q+A's that Warnock applied for the job but wasn't interviewed because they'd already approached SC. Could be I'm doing false memory syndrome here , because if so how ****ing inept/arrogant is that? I have a flawless record when it comes to managerial appointments, and I want that one over there. Because, just because. Trust me I know what I'm doing.

  6. Both his penalties went straight down the middle, rare that he puts them into a corner

He's taken more than two in his career hasn't he? And the two you mention, they went in, yes? Guessing you'd have no issues with any of these one on ones going straight down the middle, if they'd been the right play at the time and he's scored?

  7. The oddity is that he struggles with one on ones and yet is such a clinical penalty taker. Instinctive finishers who struggle with one on ones usually struggle purely because they have time to think about where they're going to put the ball, which should give them even more issues when they take a penalty.

  8. You're a fantastic moderator aren't you?

Out of touch - sorry I'm not the one wishing I lived in the 80s.

Woah, hadn't realized, it's one thing to be plain wrong, another to be plain wrong with moderator after your name. Been an interesting debate, slightly deviating towards your side for once Nibor, but either way I agree bad stance for a mod to take. A view is fine , but with the blunt instrument they tend to wield on here, often with no redress at all I think Phantom has overstepped on this occasion.
