  1. Don’t give Lansdown any ideas.
  2. Absolutely staggering that someone could look at our bench on the weekend, and think that sending anyone out on loan is in any way a good idea.
  3. This is the run of form that gets you awarded a new contract from football genius Lansdown. Doesn’t bare thinking about where we could have ended up without Nige doing the job he’s done from the absolute desperate situation he inherited, but have a look at Reading for a clue.
  4. Totally agree, it will be the dumbest decision he’s made yet which really is saying something. Absolute joke of a football club, and it’s long stopped being funny.
  5. ‘Worst keeper we’ve had in 20 years plus’ doesn’t let many goals in does he.
  6. Great post, but this paragraph in particular is absolutely spot on. The way this club carries on we do not deserve Nige, and we can all be certain that his replacement will be another Lee Johnson style chancer. His integrity and values make him someone that I’m proud to have as our manager, it’s been a long time since that’s been the case and I expect it will be a long time before it happens again.
  7. How long do you have to own a football club before you stop being utterly clueless about the sport? Asking for a friend.
  8. He’s actually going to make the dumbest decision he’s ever made isn’t he, and that really is saying something. Should be thanking Pearson daily for the job he’s done turning round the absolute omnishambles he inherited. But no, do the opposite. Clown.
  9. Imagine knowing so little that you’ve watched Nige do the job he’s done for this club and you’ve completely missed it. Clown. Up the Nige.
  10. Love (but mainly trust) Nige. **** the board.
  11. I was never questioning his performances right now or in this tournament though. Every chance yesterday was his last ODI and that’s fine, but he’s been a brilliant player in the format. And as everyone knows, in test cricket it’s undeniable that’s he’s close to useless outside England, but I don’t feel it’s in any way fair for this criticism to also be labelled at him in ODIs.
  12. His away record in ODIs also massively superior to any of Wood, Curran or Topley. Quite a small sample size for the later two though obviously.
  13. Unless I’m missing something, his overall record is averaging 30.4 with the ball, and away from home it’s 31.3. By continent, the only anomaly is six poor games in Africa, apart from that he’s been consistent everywhere.
  14. Not actually true in ODI cricket, his home and away record almost identical.
  15. A genuinely remarkable thing to say about England’s best ever ODI opener.
  16. Home form the season he took over- 24 points, 22nd in the home table Last season- 34 points, 12th in the home form table.
  17. As you say, not that it matters, but he’s certainly not a Brexiter.
  18. Barest of margins, the barest of all margins.
  19. Got everything a forward needs.
  20. Middlesex’s performances (in all formats) since the Yorkshire stitch up is almost enough to make you believe in karma.
  21. Says a lot about Essex that I’ve just sat here for an hour cheering on Hampshire (Hampshire!) so that Surrey (Surrey!) can win the title.
  22. Knight looks a great signing and as someone that would have been happy for Williams to move on this summer I think he’s started the season really well. As for James, for the type of midfielder he is and the job he does I think he’s probably the best I’ve seen play for City. An absolute class act, I find it truly remarkable that it took so many so long to see how good he is. I was still reading on here a year after signing that he was ‘Pearson’s mate’, absolutely ridiculous. Even if you didn’t notice how good he was you should have been able to see how performances dropped off when he was missing. In fact, and I’ve stolen this from someone on Twitter, but if somebody doesn’t appreciate James it’s safe to ignore their views on football to be honest.
