  1. Scrap my previous negativity, him and Ephraim up front and we’ll be sound.
  2. If we have to sell a 25 million pound player just to have the squad we’ve got now, what on earth do we do next summer?
  3. Yeah well to be honest, both him and father are both so appalling at answering any sort of question that nothing will be achieved by either of them doing an interview, but still, while hearing from Nige is always preferable to them, it’s just plain unfair he has to do it. As you say, any danger of the CEO explaining whats going on and why.
  4. Away from the conditions Nige is having to do the job in, it’s a disgrace that he’s the one that has to go out and try answering questions about FFP/wage bills/budgets. He’s the the manager of the football team, not the CEO or Director of Football or Chairman or owner. Even Richard Gould, who I liked, seemed to leave it up to Nige to have to endlessly try and explain to people the absolute mess we were in. You even see it with this issue around loans, Nige is the one explaining how expensive PL youngsters on loan are and how we can’t afford them, and then that ends up with people criticising Nige for being stubborn in not wanting loans. Joke. Press conferences with managers should be pretty boring to be honest (any knocks Nige?) rather than the only way the club communicates with the fans.

  6. Maybe the wage bill is in direct correlation to the amount of merchandise sold, and they’ve realised nobody is buying any of that crap.
  7. I’m sure everyone will carry themselves brilliantly on this thread. Sad *****.
  8. Not that much of a question in my opinion, about as obvious as anything could be.. Williams!
  9. There are numerous issues with the club, the paltry player/coach wages Andy King receives isn’t one of them. I don’t exactly see how not having Matty James is the solution to anything either. Although, making Nige get rid of his few proven championship quality players is probably the next bright idea coming out of Guernsey.
  10. Obviously completely fair to point out he’s still and young and adapting to the level, and yes there is clearly some talent there.. but my word, what an incredibly infuriating player. You can talk about coaching all you like, but frankly he looks like he requires the absolute most basic level of coaching. He makes the sort of decisions you’d expect from lads in the academy, not the first team of a championship club. It baffles me every time people express any sort of surprise when Bell starts ahead of him. While not the finished article himself, he offers us so much more down the left.
  11. It’s frankly ridiculous that a mid table championship club is in the position of playing the first half of the season with a 33 year old Nahki Wells as their only proper central striker. We are nowhere near good enough a football team to play with the lack of physicality that the team has. We look utterly toothless in the final third, and almost like we have to score the perfect goal, and frankly we aren’t anywhere near good enough to score that goal often enough. We weren’t good enough to do that when we had Alex Scott, let alone without him. If Pearson is telling the truth about the lack of incomings (and there’s no reason to not believe him) then watching this team play is going to be pretty infuriating, and frankly boring, until we are able to get Conway back. This is obviously slightly tongue in cheek, but the squad would hugely benefit from a quick, strong centre forward almost regardless of how good or bad he may actually be at football.
  12. Almost all professional clubs use it in analysis of games and scouting of players. Professional gamblers made a lot of money using it before it got into the mainstream. Must be bollocks though, otib said so.
  13. I cannot believe anybody watched a team into his fifth season as Head Coach, having absolutely no identity or style of play that would last longer than a week at a time, being bored to tears at Ashton Gate every fortnight and thought ‘yeah this team is well coached’. If getting a few young players on loan from the Premier League makes you a good coach then that **** at Rovers must be the second Pep Guardiola.
  14. Penalties are roughly 0.8
  15. Managing a football team just not suited to him.
  16. He’s so close to working it out here.
  17. He’s blaming the sprinkler system. Beyond parody this ******* idiot.
  18. I was quite optimistic for this season. Notice the past tense.
  19. What a thoroughly surprising outcome up at Durham, they’re going to finish it quickly enough that half the Somerset team manage to get back for their bedtimes mind.
  20. I’m fully aware that any Somerset fan is going to be accused of being bitter for making the obvious points in relation to todays result, but genuinely I don’t want to take anything away from Bracey or Gloucestershire (same as Shaw and Northants in the week), they played great, we got battered and Gloucestershire have a side which should be aiming to win this competition. But there is an elephant in the room that so many people choose to ignore. This isn’t a Somerset point, this comes from a place of loving county cricket. I’ve seen Somerset get well beaten in white ball cricket at Nevil Road plenty of times, it’s nothing new. One of my earliest sporting memories is us losing at Lords to Gloucestershire.. in the early days of T20 I remember Gloucestershire giving us an absolute hiding at Taunton thanks to a masterclass from the genius that was Ian Harvey. It’s fine, if you grow up supporting Somerset and City you can cope with your team losing! But today, and all of the results in the last three years of this competition, is different. I’m not even disappointed, just resigned, every August (as long as we’re a decent T20 team) we’ll just about find an eleven to fulfil the fixtures and send a team of kids out to get beaten. If you wanted to be harsh, it barely even qualifies as professional sport.
  21. You can hate the hundred, or you can laugh at this Somerset team. It can’t actually be both.
  22. He may not be able to buy a run, but the last three double hundreds in this competition are all against Somerset. At the end of today they will have won 2 out of their last 18 games in this tournament, it really isn’t any surprise when they get hammered.
