  1. You’re right mate, having 24 professional players and missing sixteen of them is quite difficult.
  2. Bracey is clearly a good county player isn’t he. They’ve got 11 bowlers missing, James Bracey being too good for a bunch of teenagers isn’t exactly a surprise.
  3. It probably happened in this competition last year, but have Somerset (or any county) ever had to put out a team with five teenagers in it?
  4. Adult. Well done Pritvhi, they’re 13.
  5. Absolutely battered them in the 49th over mind. Advantage Somerset 2s.
  6. Almost as well as your actual first team did on Monday champ.
  7. Has to be said, Pritvhi Shaw against Somerset seconds was always likely to end up with this outcome.
  8. Genuinely, you haven’t got the foggiest have you?
  9. The players that aren’t centrally contracted could decide they don’t want to play in it, but frankly for the money on offer for three weeks work that is extremely unlikely. With every game being on TV that also helps give them exposure for future earning opportunities/England selection. For example, if Ben Green continues his form from The Blast into the The Hundred he would likely make himself an attractive signing for the various franchise leagues around the world this winter. As far as I’m aware Jamie Smith from Surrey has been the only player to actively turn it down it the first season of this farce as he thought he was unlikely to play and decided it would be much better for his development to play in the One Day Cup for Surrey. As Northern Red says, the players not getting picked in the hundred this season are supposedly available to go back and play a game for their county, but let’s just say I’m rather cynical as to how much that will actually happen. Technically, after not playing last night, Lammonby, if not selected for his franchise on Saturday, should be available for Somerset on Sunday. However, is he really going to drive from Manchester to Taunton on Saturday night to play one 50 over game (of what for Somerset is a second eleven tournament) to then drive back up to Manchester in time for his franchise’s next game on Monday?
  10. Somerset currently at 15 players unavailable, only 10 fit contracted players, and the tournament hasn’t even started yet. The ECB should be ashamed, it’s an absolute disgrace. Still, looking forward to the game tomorrow..
  11. That statement, my word. What a pathetic bunch on jokers they really are. Always everyone else’s fault isn’t it.
  12. Would imagine they’ve taken him as they either don’t believe Davey and Aldridge will be fit anytime soon, or they don’t want to risk either of them in a competition that realistically Somerset have no chance in thanks to the KP Snacks Bullshit.
  13. Good, another thread ruined by that sad ***.
  14. Weird how a channel called Sky Sports Cricket has no cricket on through the month of August.
  15. It’s only Devon, but this is incredible hitting from Rew. Such a talent.
  16. Not as pointless as their four point dedication to this year’s Blast that has already finished. What an utterly pointless punishment, may as well deduct them a million points, it doesn’t mean anything.
  17. I sometimes manage to convince myself that watching the young lads will be fun and some stress free cricket to watch and just enjoy the day, but that’s just nonsense isn’t it. It was genuinely quite sad watching the game against Sussex last season, a team containing numerous teenagers, two non contract players and a loanee from Gloucestershire, signed purely to make up the numbers, getting absolutely hammered in front of a really decent Friday night crowd. How on earth can a professional sports club be put in this position by the national governing body of the sport. It’s an absolute disgrace.
