I also never wrote him off. Never thought he was as bad as people made out.

That summer that Pearson publicly said 4 players need to leave, he was the only one I was happy to keep.

Although I did think it would be better for him to move on at the time.

Never a right back though, at CB he’s continuing to improve almost every week. Pity he’s out today, think we’ll miss him.

Think Zak and Dickie will be partnered at Portsmouth. Think part of the thinking for time being whilst we are light in that position is to have a senior pro next to a young centre half. Rather than leaving two young lads exposed.

Don't we have a duty of care to these young lads, knowing the Grecians historical reputation (the unspeakable vice of the Grecians)?

Liverpool definitely need to rebuild their midfield, but could be to much of responsibility to put on the shoulders of a 19 year old. Not impossible if they see him as a player for the next 10 years, but suspect they are more likely to spend quite a bit more for already established players - MacAllister heavily rumoured and he's a World Cup Winner ( I know Alex is but that wasn't the big one)

A World Cup hasn't been graced by Alex's presence just yet.   A Europe cup has, and he won that (U-19).  I understand other players were also involved.

  4. He's OK, but Alex Scott is not the most successful Guernsey footballer currently playing.   There's another who played boys football up to the age of 16, played in the Guernsey boys U-16s team, captained England under 17s, played for England under 19s and for the under 23s (at 19), who was last summer was bought from Brighton by Manchester United, scored 2 goals on debutwhile  playing as a central defender and was called by and played for England soon after. Her name is Maya Le Tissier, she's 20 and is no relation to Matt Le Tissier.

Go abroad and develop into an elite player away from the scrutiny of England. After seeing Bellingham, Sancho and others succeed away from England I don't know why you'd want to move to a big club right away as a young English player. One week he's the best thing England have ever produced and a guaranteed Balon D'or winner, the next he's labelled a donkey and a failure. Go enjoy your football in Germany or Italy and come back as a World Class player.

Alex Scott is a Donkey, and quite lilely proud to be one.

  6. Paul Simpson (released by BCFC?) quote:  “I and we need players at this club who are happy. He wasn’t disruptive in any way, he’s a really good fella, he went about his business properly and he worked hard."
One of the highlights of last season for me was back in April, Idehen's first tackle, a few minutes after coming on as a substitute, in the penalty area, against Derby's best player....
