  1.  As an example of Derby's budgetary organisation............they paid Peterborough 5 Million for Jack Marriott three years ago, and he has just re-signed for Peterborough on a free?   ?

During the 1960's Jersey signed an agreement with Madeira for individuals to settle on the island as 'staff' for the holiday trade. Therefore there is a significant number of 'Madeiran' individuals, and their families, now settled on the island.

    Thanks...........I did not know that.

A very small pool and most of the best footballers on the island are Madeira born with allegiance to the Portuguese clubs.

Sorry.....I don't get it?  What is the connection between Madeira and Jersey/Guernsey...am I missing something?

  4. Semenyo's better off staying here for at least another season............rather than warming the bench at Palace?   Playing for us regularly will improve his profile, and he is still young enough to delay moving to the Prem.  Also i just hate the fact, that yet again, as soon as we have a young player with ability, the first thing on the agenda is.............how much can we get for him?.   How about just enjoying his playing ability and   hopefully his  contribution to us improving and actually  entertaining our long suffering supporters?  I am a realist, but I am sick of our ongoing profile of being a selling club.  We need to hold on to our best players, not sell them as soon as they begin displaying  their potential.....otherwise, why bother?

Either I've missed your joke, or you missed mine in that the guy in the video looks a lot like Stanley!

Sorry never seen a pic of Stanley, although i do listen to his excellent podcast..............so it's a whoosh from me!   PS I really did not visualise Stanley looking anything like that. Ha!

But not in a Championship game..

Hence my comment that he won’t score goals in the championship and he ain’t a striker.

I think we all agree now that was right he is not a Striker.

Has he scored a championship goal - no..

Not sure why everybody is so keen to say you are wrong when ‘clearly’ up to now I have been right....

For the record I think he could be a decent player but has to add goals. Let’s hope he does.

    Pedant Alert!! ?

Phase 2/3 of the Oxford vaccine will be reported during September. Hopefully successful at preventing disease spread and reducing the impact of the disease even if it doesn't eliminate it. Volume production will already be underway such that priority groups will start receiving jabs through autumn into winter.

Early 2021 will see vaccine availability for everyone in the UK (who wants it). Normal social interactions will resume around February. Packed Ashton Gate for the last four months of the season but until then season ticket rotation with groups of upto 4 marked seats for friends to sit together.

End of the 2020/21 season will see us win promotion with Chris Hughton at the helm.

Covid-19 becomes the fifth coronavirus in general circulation. Innate immunity around the world means that within a few years it offers no more health risk than our existing cold viruses.

Come back to me in May 2021 if I've got any of the above wrong.

Excellent...........an optimist with a positive attitude.

With the worst ground in the football league and an army (I'm being generous) of simpletons, Rovers are a bloody embarrassment to our great city.

Spending time near any of them puts me in mind of the film The Jerk.

I wonder if you happen to remember the name of Steve Martin's dog in "The Jerk"?...............I'll give you a clue, it's Not "Special Purpose"

Yeah they will be looking at the plane, they'll be looking at everything. I know everyone on the internet likes to be an expert on everything but do we have to pretend we have the first clue about the ins and outs of civil aviation before he's even been found?

With the greatest respect at no time have i ever pretended to have any aviation knowledge, or claim to be an expert, so please don't exagerate. i have travelled over the channel at night in a single engined Cessna . Of course I  feel sorry for everyone concerned, and I'm certain it will all be throughly investigated. It's merely a point of view.

  11. Just watched 'Frustrated' LJ's, after match comments. Have to say he spoke well and made some good points, without hiding.  I was very pleased to hear that he intends to use the market to address the weakness's in the side.....Damn Right!  I am still on his side, and am confident that if he puts his words into actions, we will be ok.  No time for knee jerk sackings, and he seems well aware that our Under 10's defending etc, is not good enough.....................to state the bleedin obvious!!? ?

We could have brought in a short term loan, that would have made sense, in the same way that after selling Djuric and knowing the Diedhiou was banned for 6 games, we should have brought in cover.

We haven't in both cases it's a mistake, it's unprofessional and it will end up costing us.

Have to agree...........if it's obvious to the majority of supporters, then surely LJ had to be aware of our short term problem?  So he chose to ignore it, and was prepared to field a weakened side, rather than address it. We then miss the possible opportunity to make a solid start to our season...........and just perhaps end up playing catch up with the top half of the table?  If we were prepared to spend 3.9M Euros on a keeper a few weeks ago [We ended up getting one on a free].....how come suddenly our lack of recruitment is down to finances, when we saved 3.9M and also sold Duric and Bryan [7M?] , this is after we bid for the Columbus keeper.  Doesn't seem to add up? Am I missing something?  What a shame that one of the excellent, brave and insightful journalists who cover City didn't think to ask about that?

Clearest sign yet that LJ is losing the plot, just said he couldn’t take bobby off dispite not doing hardly anything today because he is our top scorer and would rather change the system to fit around him, what the f is going on

1 point off the play offs in possibly the most competitive league in Europe and young LJ Is losing the plot.................I would guess you are a glass half empty kinda bloke.
