  1. Let's have a bit of sympathy for Maesknoll and stop this talk of arses

Most grateful for the sympathy, it's easing a little now, earlier it felt as if I'd been rogered with a wire brush and sulphuric acid. I can only assume I have caught this from a dirty glass.......

A win from the lads today would help ease the pain, I'm sure.

  2. Please tell me you haven't just compared people who killed milions of innocent human beings to someone giving out some banter.

Jesus Christ some people need to get a real life. I remember some kid calling me a poo-poo head once in play group in about 1988. Going by this thread, maybe I should still hold a grudge.

No, reread the thread, its about forgiving someone, just because it happened sometime ago - before the poster was born, extreme examples, but thats all they are, we all know that hollowhead is far worse than any of those historic dictators.........

  3. Godwin's Law (1990)

"As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison being drawn upon or involving Adolf Hitler or Nazis approaches. Given enough time, no matter what the subject or the scope somebody will make a reference to Hitler"

So who's law relates to Genghis Ghan?
  4.

For goodness sake, are we basing it on a silly thing he said in the heat of the moment when a fair few of us weren't even born?

Do you have the same take on Gengis Ghan, Hitler, Mao........ You weren't born when they inflicted their regimes on people.

Plenty of us were born and witnessed the sag ******* goading and insulting us, I would be totally shocked if he even considered managing us, should the board be stupid enough to offer him the position.

  5. Would be delighted at his appointment - should it happen.

He is a professional. You do a job for money.

Ask yourself - if you found yourself out of work - would you not take a job on offer, because you may 20 years ago have not liked the company???

I know I would. If I was a football coach, I would happily work for Bristol Rovers or Cardiff City if the money is right.

Ask Marcus Stewart, ask Alan Walsh, ask John Ward etc

Totally different, to the best of my knowledge, none of them acted unprofessionally and insulted the other club and its fans, Hollowhead has done this on more than one occasion, he is a sag, not a professional who played for them without predujice, if you don't understand the ill feeling that it would cause amongst many City fans, then I guess it would be impossible to explain further.

  6. I gave up considering that Rovers even exist ten years ago.

And so did I, but I bet Hollowhead hasn't, for this reason he would be poison to this club, you can see how devisive SO'D and his sacking has been, I am pretty certain, that if for some unimmaginable reason the board appointed the stereotypical Bristol bumpkin, the devisiveness of the current situation would look like a group hug of the paciifist society, against what would follow a bad run of results from Hollowhead.

  7. so all the people who don't want him cause the gas link would rather end up in basement footy rather than having a successful candidate?

cutting your nose to spite your face springs to mind :-/

As much as I don't like the bloke I'd rather him for the good the club.

Its for the good of the club that he shouldn't even be mentioned as a candidate, he would tear the fanbase apart, I am 100% in the camp that would not set foot in the Gate until he and the board that appointed him had gone. Its irrational and illogical, but thats football.

  8. Ffs...we need to stop all this small minded crap. He would do a good job if appointed

Unbelievable, you call it small minded and are obviously oblivious to the history and his comments full of vitriol towards us. As for doing a good job, I can't see it, he'd alienate many fans who would no longer set foot in AG, those that managed to, but with severe reservations would make his life hell for every defeat, odd substitution etc.

Its a no brainer, he would be the most devisive Manager that could be appointed, he would be at risk of continual verbal and possibly, physical assault should things not improve. He strikes me as the sort of character who doesn't cope with that well, whereas someone like Warnock seemed to thrive on it.

  9. Slightly different and no Rovers fans were on the pitch.

You actually think that anyone going on the pitch, if that was the only offence committed, should receive a lifetime ban?

I reckon most people would think that a little harsh, especially if it were a first offence.

  10. "ACC Rolfe said her officers would not tolerate any football related violence and their actions are fully supported by both football clubs, who have vowed to ban anyone arrested today for life."

Anyone else see the problem with the last bit? :o

Wow, you could be a young kid, who has been arrested for running on the pitch, with no malice, other than to celebrate and take the piss a bit and that could be it, a life ban - now I'm no apologist for hooligans and yobs, I think they have buggered up the away days, causing the treatment we get at the hands of the OB when arriving at stations etc.

But, a life ban for running on the pitch - really? (Yes, yes, I know its an offence, but the punishment seems disproportionate).

If any of those arrested are charged and convicted with criminal damage, assualt or similar, then thats a different slant on it and they deserve whats coming.

  11. Radio 5 just reporting that 16 people have been arrested in dawn raids, this is in connection with the violence at the local derby.

I didn't witness any of the alleged violence, but blimey, that does seem a bit OTT for running on the pitch, unless there was some more serious incidents.

  12. Received in the forum mail box:

    Sirs

Luton fan here who would like to ask you to pass on our thanks for the tremendous support received from City fans regarding the petition that was posted yesterday on your board.

Believe you me we are still in shock and it's this type of support that helps to keep us going.

    Bravo!

    Regards

    Sparky
