Presenter not having any hints of Manning being sacked at all, all about what he needs to do to improve.

Anyone tuning in tonight to see if there is some decent analysis of the weekend?
Don’t suppose you are on @Davefevs?

The truth is, if you haven’t played the game, you have to be twice as good, or else you’re one disagreement away from having “show me your medals”, or “you didn’t play the game” thrown back at you.
I don’t think that’s fair, but it is what it is.
Spot on. You don’t have to have played at the top to be a good manager, clearly there are examples of where this proven.
But right now, Manning spouting some of this to our senior players must be jarring.
People talk of him having lost the dressing room, this is one scenario where you could see it’s happened.
Conversely you can’t imagine the same conversation happening with Nige.

To be fair it would be very Bristol City to win that game!

Indeed, a few on here need to wake up a bit. This week is VERY VERY crucial. We need to steady things quickly. Manning has to be pragmatic.
You make a great point. Thinking "we won't go down" isn't a strategy not to.

Blimey! I feel sick.

Ideally we need 9 points to be safe from relegation I would think: so three wins between now and the end of the season.
Its pretty unlikely then that we can't get that from 11 games left. That said, it's hardly an easy run in given the games we have and the form we are in.
The fact this thread even exists though and we're discussing this prospect is a damning stain on Lansdown, Tinnion and Manning.

Whilst I can't imagine not wanting to miss out on a pay out, do you think Manning is the sort of person to walk?
He clearly develops no loyalty with his employers based on his previous roles so I do wonder if he might think "sod this for a lark!" given the backlash he's having. I'm not sure how it ended for him at MK but I don't get the impression, based on his post match interviews of late, he's experienced booing of the like we've seen.
If you look at it from his perspective he may well think that this isn't what he signed up for. Like when you start a new job yourself and work out early on its not going to be for you.

Terrified we give him another transfer window, millions of pounds, and sack him 10 games into next season
Just catching up on this thread, well said mate. You can easily see this happening right now, and then again mid season we'll need another re-build.
Unless we see a major reaction and up turn in performances he surely needs to go before close season.

I literally have no feelings about this bloke. The most unoffensive yet uninspiring guy who has ever managed us.
He could walk into my house and help himself to a beer and I wouldnt notice.
Just brilliant Tom! Gave me a good laugh at least but it does indeed feel like that!

I think Southampton and Boro were the blip in our performances and results. Everything else before and after is the Manning norm.

Yes agree.
Does anyone know WHY we are one of only two teams playing on the Sunday?
It’s clearly just a vain attempt to reduced the risk of trouble. Just about the worst time of season for a football match for many I would suggest, Mothers Day lunch time.

I get what you are saying @Fordy62 and I agree somewhat.
The sacking of Nige and how that exposed Lansdown and then the appointment of Manning are two different sides of the same coin for me. Both are ridiculous.
I still think they will stick with him though, which will prove more difficult if the losses keep on coming, especially if we lose to Swansea next week. We needed a response yesterday after two straight losses to relegation threatened teams; you could argue we got one, it was worse!
Ipswich away would be difficult for any manager and team right now, but we simply have to see a positive display against Swansea.
-
Should be a good listen but Lansdown needs a good roasting as well as Manning.
As an aside be interesting to see how the 3 Peaps podcast tries to put a positive usual spin on things after yesterday.

Brilliant mate!

Interview with Semenyo with Sky today
“A handful more appearances for Bristol City followed before another loan spell, this time at Sunderland in League One until he finally broke into the first team. Then Nigel Pearson arrived. Semenyo smiles at that name.
"I had a bit of a cagey start with him. I wasn't really playing much and as a player you're like, 'Why am I not playing?'. He just said your best ability is running and shooting so all you need to do is run and shoot!”
It does seem that you only hear positive stories about his management from the players
Run and shoot indeed. Not over complicating a simple game.
You get the feeling Manning would’ve had a completely different approach with Semenyo.

....from everyone in it together, players and fans under NP, all pulling together, getting it, fighting, respect, understanding...a feeling of we are all pulling in the same direction. A feeling of togetherness. Fighting, supportive, but respectful and knowing our ability and limits.
To this bullshit within a few months.
Talk about not understanding football, your fanbase, and totally thinking you and the squad are better than they are.
Delusional.
It's a reflection of how many in Government/Politics read and understand the country and what's needed.
In it for themselves...out of their depth and massively delusional.
The fact a fan base can see it, call it...but our ' leaders' can't is stunning.
' Tecknically and Proffesionally ' sp inept.
Post of the year in March! Absolutely nailed it mate. I hope Lansdown reads it. You had it all mate, then you ****** it and lost us forever.

Dear Nigel
Sorry to write again so soon, just wanted to update my letter -
Three of the worse teams in the division have now beaten us, the manager is throwing players under the bus and the players are fighting among themselves....please, please come back.

Jon
So are fans. Literally.

Yeah the togetherness has disintegrated. The togetherness of team, fans etc together off it, the cohesion on it.
Agreed mate. Literally people fighting each other at the final whistle. It’s shocking and all on Lansdown.

**** off you charlatan and take Lansdown with you.

We are absolutely ****** right now. At the end of the game people were literally at each other’s throats arguing about the position. Any togetherness we had under Nige has eroded.
