I think nothing will happen now until the end of the season.  We have home games against Blackburn, Rotherham and Huddersfield next month and I think that will be the litmus test for me if we can see any green shoots or whether to call it a day.

Two major sticking points for me are...

    1. Who on earth do we go for next to replace Manning.

    2. He will have a  3 year contract to pay off (god only knows why we gave him 3.5 years)

I tend to agree with you, but if he keeps losing it’s not going to be an easy end of the season.

As JP said on SOTC last night, fans sack managers. If the fans are loud and clear enough they won’t be able to just ride this out to the summer.

Received quite a bit of criticism when first started post Geoff.

Last night very much sounded like a man finding his feet, being comfortable doing it his way.

    May it continue.

I agree. In that format with two professional guests it worked superbly. He sounded like a City fan?

I think he’s gone come what may. As you say season tickets will be a factor, SL will have seen the sparse crowds and the unrest permeating all round the club.

It’d be a comeback of epic proportions to deliver both performances and results needed in the last eight to both convince SL to let him have funds and convince the fanbase he’s the right man.

My feeling is that a loss against Leicester and a “non win” against Plymouth sees them pull the trigger. They should now, but I agree that’s the likely timeline - we can’t get to he’s got six games to save his job, five games etc.

I agree mate but really depends how the Leicester game goes. If we win, great, maybe it’s a stay of execution or even a turning point. If we are losing, especially badly, it could be really bad especially with the Nige/Leicester thing. You can, for example, easily see a scenario where there are chants against Manning and for Nige if it’s a heavy defeat.

JP summed it up perfectly "there seems to be this pain threshold that is just being stretched and stretched and stretched and stretched and it's just an awful experience for the fans, for the team, for the staff, for us, for everyone at the club. It's just a horrible environment to exist in at the moment and at one point it has to end"

For him to say that, with his access to the club, is incredibly damning.

I found the whole show compelling listening; I literally stopped what I was doing and just sat and listened.

There were many insightful, credible comments from Piercy and Owers, but this one from Piercy stood out the most. For a respected journalist who covers the club to come out publicly and say something as damning as this was incredible, but probably just underlined what many of us think.

If you’ve not listened to the show yet I thoroughly recommend you do.

  5. Just listened to it, what a fantastic episode this evening.

Piercy and Owers were brilliant and the presenter did well too TBF. Owers and Piercy just oozed credibility throughout and created superb, insightful, honest debate.

    The best SOTC since GT.

Based on what I heard Manning really hasn’t got long left if things stay as they are.

    This.....

Lots of comments referring to his age - old, dinosaur, etc etc

I also recall him being accused of being "boring", "grumpy" and "a bully".

Unfortunately, we even had a few unsympathetic comments regarding his health, not to mention the bizarre accusation which Dave has alluded to.

Spot on, some very short memories here.

I think it's very toxic on here. I've lost count of the threads slagging Manning off - and many of the comments have been personal

Interesting, how do you perceive it away from OTIB? As I say above, I see it worse away from here but appreciate you will have a different perspective.

The ‘Fortress’ AG clips being constantly used for reference are all from one game, aren’t they? Christ.

Addition of a Nathan Baker challenge from 6 years ago is a nice touch too, they must’ve forgotten that he was sent off for that one

Nice clip of Tinnion stood watching training too, for absolutely no reason, as it clearly tradition.

Have they included the clip of Tinnion looking around the door lurking when Manning was appointed? 🙄😂

Really is an echo chamber on here and doesn't reflect the view of an average fan. How has it come to losing a few games meaning you need to be sacked!? Would you have all sacked fergie in his early United days?

It’s not an echo chamber on OTIB in my view, yes a lot of people feel as per this thread, maybe the majority now, but there are plenty who still support Manning, Tinnion and Lansdown.

As for the average fan what does that mean? The Cardiff game saw fighting in the stands amongst ourselves, booing and chanting; we also had booing and chanting at West Brom.

Your world view may well be different and I appreciate that; for me, OTIB is the most balanced and relatively calm about the situation. Away from OTIB what I see, read and hear is far more toxic.

Are people really getting annoyed about getting an email reminder to renew?

Every club in the country will be doing the same thing.

True, but it’s the positioning and optics of it I think a lot of people are annoyed with.

  11. 9 minutes ago, Silvio Dante said:

    I don’t think that’s the case.

That will have been filmed weeks ago.

What we know about this club is that it’s massively disfunctional. So to think the media department are engaging with the football department over potential changes to branding that was agreed weeks ago in case Liam is sacked is just not going to happen. In fact, even if they did engage, they’d still go ahead with the promotion as any delay/change may indicate news of a potential sacking would get out.

Manning front and centre means absolutely nothing in relation to the stability of his position.

    Hope you are right mate!

Reckon he gets the next two, whether we like that or not.

Two years not games knowing this lot Graham! 🙄

Game of the season by a mile that

Forgot what it was like to feel something watching a game of football

Absolutely Pete. Just absolutely everything Manning isn’t.

Have to admire the emotion and passion from Klopp.

Transfers to the players on the pitch.

We could use some of that from our HC

Emotion from Rashford for the goal too. On your own Manning!

Without doubt! Will be all over the season ticket propaganda as well.
