Before he went, I was staying stick with him, simply because it's all very well saying sack someone, but if you don't have a plan to replace them (or money to help out the new bloke) then I couldn't see the point of getting rid, but looking back, as many others have said, his recent interviews he was pretty much saying he had run out of ideas of how to improve things without financial backing, so I think it was all sadly inevitable.

Whether someone else can save us from the drop I don't know, we played okay yesterday, but believe it or not, in a lot of the recent defeats we have been a bit unlucky, as you do tend to be when you're down at the bottom. At the start of the season, I had a £5 double on Rovers and City getting relegated, sadly for me it look's like I may be getting it only half right!

Regardless of your poor betting. You and your family have a great Christmas.

I for one will not go anywhere near the Mem if Cotterill is appointed ! no big deal I know but if a few thousand felt the same way it might be

If a few thousand felt the same way as this Belter, they’d have none of the idiots there at all! Whatever happened to the ‘We’d watch from the pavement?’

    Good question

police free within our force area is 2 home spotters and 2 away spotters . We call it police free or spotter only.

Other forces are similar , I personally don’t know what selhurst park do but often spotter only games are called police free as there are no other additional police allocated to it.

Some smaller clubs have completely police free games where no police officers or spotters are involved . It is wholly dependent on the risk each game poses and is done on a match by match basis .

There are 5 gradings used on a national level that each club will use. They are police free, spotters only, a grade , b grade or c grade . There is also a c grade with increased risk grading (known as c-ir)

football clubs in our force area only pay for a grades and above .

it is a very cloudy area between police free and spotters only , as some forces state games are police free when in fact spotters were allocated !

    I am slightly confused

    1) home spotters is this people looking for somewhere to live?

    2) when you police the gas do you police the 20,000 locked out?

    3)is c-ir Millwall?

Thank you, certainly changed over the last few years.

I often point out to fans at meetings and during match day that often there are only 2 Bristol police officers on for most games of football , previously this figure would have been much higher.

As always I would ask people to consider the ride a long scheme, you can apply and come out for a shift with a response officer, neighbourhood officer or our ost units that do operational support . It is very much an eye opener !

All we ask is that you bring doughnuts !!

I think that's a brilliant idea can I book every other Saturday and said officer would have 90+ minutes to eat the doughnuts.

All of a sudden they are all business experts over there, according to them we are going to be bankrupt in 4 years as SL has no business sense.

Think I'm losing brain cells reading it...

god forbid dished out (including locked out) that amounts 15 per fan. you are very generous.

I think Julie was suggesting that slightly happier gasheads were easier to police, but it there are a few on here who would jump on her comments if she said good morning, which I am sure is not news to her.

I think you are getting  slightly confused the police only say "Evening all", in the morning they just say "You're nicked"

I saw the trouble before the game at the back of the Blackthorn end and it was most definitely more than the normal Stone Island/Adidas wearing youths arms outstretched yelling 'Come on then' at each other, they were actually punching each other! It was all very retro :)

I did see the Oxford mob outside the pub on Gloucester Road after the game and there were plenty of police so I was surprised when it all did kick off again.. If we are going to back to the 70s I hope we can get Smash and Grab back.

It's on Monday. Don't you lot know anything about the 1st round of the cup?

why do you need them you now have hoof and miss?

Their fans will need a new song "when will we score again".

there is one they can steal "we'll score again don't know where don't no when but I hope we score again some sunny day"

No, I was the refined gentleman eating a breakfast and having a coffee.

Currently, I am in William Hill having just had a pre match punt.  Give it an hour or two and I'll be in the pub.

Your team is your team though isn't it? Rovers may well be shite, but that has no bearing on my support for them and if we did go out of existence, Bristol City are the last team I would be going to support ! I will be down at your place v Stoke this season though (a work thing and I will be in the away end), so it will be my first chance to see Ashton Gate since the development., but whatever I think of it, I won't be switching sides :)

If you wave I will wave back.
