    Far too late.

I think his father's teams could be boring in style sometimes, but with Lee it was more to do with tactics and fear of the opposition, which was infuriating.

He loved to try and 'out wit' the opposition teams Manager too then come out with ridiculous phrases in post match interviews. God I do not miss him, poor Sunderland, they need all the luck

I was looking at the run they’ve been on in all comps prior to the 2 defeats in a row - essentially disproving the ‘streaky’ tag (for his time at Sunderland)

To me it's not the fact they have had a small blip, it came at a time when Automatic promotion was essentially in their own hands, they suddenly go on a blip. As soon as he is in the ascendency it slips out of his handz

Feels similar to when we beat WBA 3-2 and were 5th and then ended 8th.

Leicester a fine example. Would Sheffield United have gone up without? Tottenham have used the system well.

Overseas Atalanta an interesting example, Ajax periodically return to prpmince. Did it help Atletico, Borussia Dortmund and Leipzig grow? Arguably yes.

The only thing with that is that other clubs did rise to prominence during the 2000's when Premier League and La Liga were booming.

Deportivo La Coruna, FC Porto, Monaco, Celtic, Shakhtar Donetsk, Valencia, Zenit St Petersburg, Middlesbrough, Sevilla, Feyenoord all reaching major Semi finals or finals at European Competitions.
Football is a cyclist game, not much has really changed since then, if anything the gap has widened in the past 10 years you may say when you look at the list of Champions League Winners. Ajax your example have always been a club that every other decade rise to prominence in Europe, judging by their own History, and they too have a helping hand that they have plenty of young talent to pick from across Netherlands and Belgium.

FFP restricts club's like ourselves to spend and reach our full potential. Better checks need to be done regarding ownerships of club's, but it is down to the club on what they spend their money on. Not much has really changed in terms of new club's rising up in Europe. Kaiserslautern of the 90s are now a 3rd tier side and clubs like Leicester or Leeds come and go.

Accrington Stanley jumped over them into 6th tonight.  Jon Coleman, what a job he’s doing.  Really like like their owner too.

If they make it to the Championship, I think that is a bigger achievement than Leicester title win. That's been years and years of good management, good decisions being made on and off the pitch by Accrington Stanley, let alone the fact they truly are a Community football club, some real Roy of the Rovers stuff really

  5. Both LJ and SC did good jobs at City. I think if you forget LJ's personality, you'd have to say he did an 'ok' job over 4 years, made us steady in the League, but without being spectacular.

Some think our fans are fickle and nasty to Managers, i'd say we're quite pleasant compared to many many other clubs, seems Sunderland fans have figured LJ out, already and I can't say I'm not surprised. Like they have said, he has achieved nothing and speaks a lot without saying much but utter drivel

There’s obviously space in the market for all the ‘types’ of podcast we have and we’re lucky to have so many.

The most boring of the lot is clearly the sanitised and unexciting ‘Robins Nest’.

The club have the luxury of access to material, especially archive stuff, that no one else does. Despite this huge creative advantage they churn out dull content every single time presented by Downsy who’s clearly a poor fit and that Mikey Cobbam(?) who they repeatedly try and shoehorn in for some reason.

They don't want anyone who goes against the grain and would severely criticise the club, so in some ways they are restricted. I'd never listen because of this, better to leave it to the fans as anything from the club is just sanitised and not the real experience you'd want from a fans podcast.

  7. Personally I like FBC and OSIB, for differing reasons, both give a varied view from the fanbase on the club and have some excellent interviews on both pods.

I do prefer the manner in which FBC is conducted by the main interviewer, but considering OSIB came on with not much experience I think they've done well and I really enjoyed the Cider's with during the first lockdown.

  8. Give Semenyo a chance, he will score goals for us in the future I think. Strikers/Attacking players, especially young ones need to be given the opportunity to show what they can do, it's only half a season.

We, as a club in the past few years have been too quickly to write off attacking players who have gone on to do well - Woodrow, Robinson, Kent to name but a few.

He has done well this season in a poor team imo, he will get better

For a so say "highly rated" manager to only have 8th place in League One, to show as his higest ranking finish, in 18 seasons, doesn't exactly indicate much ambition or expectation.

8th in League One - That's Rovers' version of success in my view.
