Could we change it so you get an extra point for each game you go without getting a penalty? 

I think today shows how much potential we have, compare today to WBA where we were more fluid and exciting. Today we were just so solid, Norwich had good possession but I always felt our defense had it under control. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying today wasn't entertaining and impressive today, just that it was a different type of performance.

So impressed with how we look and how organised we are. It shows that when the organisation is right and you have the right players on the pitch you don't need to constantly tweak and change personnel and formation based on the opposition. You can set up, play the game, and rely on the players to react to what's happening on the pitch and adapt as a team.

Yeah the whole backline were solid, but definitely one of Pring or Tanner - both were exceptional today, could easily make an argument either way. Does anyone know who was officially chosen?

Assuming he does move in the summer - Whilst I'd love to see him get a move to a big/top end of the table club it's probably better for us if he goes to somewhere more mid table. I'm ignoring for this point the merits for him as a player, where he'd get more game time etc. And just thinking we we probably get between £20-£30m wherever he goes and it will likely include a sell on. So better for the club if he goes someone more mid-table does well and gets sold again.

This is a really interesting thread. For me it looks like 7 into 3/2 on paper but as many people have pointed out Weimann is really flexible and happy to take one for the team and play where he is needed - so I think he'll gets minutes in multiple positions. I think what NP has actually done is give himself flexibility to change and/or see out games. Preston shows the start of that, Weimann and Cornick both have crazy ammounts of Stamina and can't press relentlessly having them on at the end meant we could press and they would track back. In a different gaem (maybe a less physical one) he may want to use Mehmeti so we have skill and pace on the counter attack. On top of that we have a settled and relatively solid looking defense, and midfield.

Basically what I'm saying is ith various combinations we can keep the team structure, but change our style play just by switching up who is upfront. We can have two/three players on who hold up the ball well, who run in behind, who press, who are skillful on the ball, who have pace etc. Any of these are now options and also combinations of all of them. It allows us to keep the team shape and structure but still vary the playing style based on opposition weakness's or to make substitutions to change a game.

I think there is a rule about this and you have to take the position of the lowest placed side. So even if we merged and followed @REDOXO's sensible and agreeable 5 point plan we'd be automatically relegated to League 1.

Arguable that we have lost our best goalkeeper but Max has been in good form & the Russian guy is at least an experienced alternative.

 

If we persevere with a back four we look well served at full back with Dasilva staying & Wilson back to fitness.

 

Provided Kalas stays fit having him & Naismith as back up centre backs looks good to me, Williams would presumably step in if he was needed back there.

 

King is ok as cover behind Williams & with so many wide options Sykes could play there too.

 

Up front in addition to the 2 who have arrived today we have Wells, Weimann, Bell & Sykes, with Conway back at some point.

 

Advantage of Cornick is this is his level, he should be up to speed straight away, whilst Mehmeti might need a few games to settle in, but looks exciting.
