No. I think it means we’ve been hamstrung into it - which isn’t necessarily a bad thing long term, so long as the next person to get unlimited funds isn’t the return of the prodigal son.

I think we’re a team with quite a few young players - especially in forward positions. Young players are inconsistent by their nature. Today was inconsistent. We shouldn’t think we’re going to be world beaters every week.

It’s easy to say “why don’t we spend some of the 30 off million from S&S sales” if we hadn’t had the farce that came in the years preceding them. When you treble a wage bill and are making losses of 30m a year and paying numerous players upwards of 25k a week you need to reset. Ideally reset within the new boundaries you set yourself. I don’t think the half has been quite as bad as some have made out. Final ball lacking but hardly a one sided half. This isn’t the Birmingham of old. This is a decent team with very good players. They’ll be there or there about come April.
