They had a bit of a recruitment drive in the UK a couple of years ago which has improved their squad no end - in addition to Bobby they got Andre Gray, Jamal Lowe, Michail Antonio, Ethan Pinnock and Ravel Morrison among others.

Kasey Palmer got a call-up a couple of years ago although he only has one cap to his name so far.

Not strictly 100% true about 'improving their squad no end'. It's worth watching the show 'Captains' on Netflix about various country's vying to qualify for the last World Cup. The British based players actually caused lot of friction amongst the home-based Jamaican team (don't think our Bob was one of the messers though!) which ultimately led to a poor qualifying campaign.

Hopefully with more time, the British based players will become more embedded and part of the team and culture of their side as they seek to qualify for the next big competition(s).

  2. Thanks for sharing the link. Interesting he spent 3 months with Arsenal then ended up at St Albans then Woking! Surprised he only played 297 games throughout his career, but he was mostly brilliant in his 5 years at City.

    RIP Colin.
I quite enjoyed it when he was in charge down there. Represented us well.

But……where was the minutes silence today? I got to my seat just a minute before kick off and I didn’t see that we did one?

There was an announcement over the tannoy and photo on the big screen probably about 2.50pm, was a good round of applause at this time which felt fitting.

I thought Tiehi was excellent in CM for them, seemed to be everywhere.  That’s a helluva pick up on loan.

    No.22 was excellent, I agree.

Interesting career path so far, with stints in France, English non-league and Czech Republic. Seems Toure was the pulling factor with the Wigan move. Above article indicates a £800k permanent deal if Wigan survive the drop, based on what I saw, that looks a good fee to me.

Possibly,  but I’m not sure about that. If Ashton Vale had been designed properly, and I can’t remember the plans, a stadium of 30k ish wouldn’t have looked much bigger than Ashton Gate’s current lopsided redevelopment of 26.5k ish. It could have had more two tier stands with the away supporters placed in the top tier of one of them. With crowds of 20k the lower tiers would have been full every match creating a good atmosphere. Can any remember what the proposed Ashton Vale stadium plan looked like?

Yeah, I think you're right. Was the plan to add a tier on each of the end stands to bring it to 42k in the event of the World Cup stadium hosts?

Anyway, back to Sunderland, well done fans for virtually selling out. Should be a great atmosphere despite some fans being on holidays (that's why I pre-booked my holiday from Sunday's date!).

huddersfield are amazing  ,to have one premier season and chance of a second.

They survived their first year in the PL, finishing 16th. Finished bottom in their 2nd year.

Corberán is doing a fantastic job there, surprised Leeds didn't try for him.
