  1. Off the mark!? Two consecutive fours, Sir. 25/0 from two overs - 5 fours. Oh Dear. Too good to last - out LBW, without playing a shot!
  2. Ah Yes, Peter Brough, the ventriloquist, with his puppet Archie Andrews. I remember them and, as you suggest, I imagine they would have been pretty impressive on the radio ?.
  3. Hello Children, Everywhere. Actually, I don't remember him (I have just looked him up on WIKI), so obviously I am not that old. But, seriously, Junior Choice was always Ed Stewart for me.
  4. Well Done and Thank You Mr. Stewpot.
  5. This one was also quite amusing: My apologies once again - the F word seems to be following me around. Ah, if only....
  6. I have only just seen your post. I found the link on YouTube, copied it and pasted it in to my post.
  7. Is this the one you mean? My apologies. For some reason, the link appears to have stopped at this stage, and I am unable to delete it. If anybody considers it inappropriate please feel free to delete - if you know how.
  8. If that was the same match, there was an announcement over the tannoy that, due to the inclement weather, the last train back to Sheffield would be leaving at around 17H00ish so fans would have to leave 'soonish' or spend the night in Bristol. Cue the chant, 'One Bed and Breakfast, there's only one Bed and Breakfast'.
  9. Unfortunately, Somerset's batting is, once again, a weak point in their Championship aspersions, but Well Done to Glos and, especially, to James Bracey, who appeared to be the main difference between the two sides.
  10. Essex All Out, leaving Durham 168 to win. Durham currently 0/2!?
  11. Not bad figures: Mohammad Abbas 11 6 11 6 1.00 0 0
  12. So, I checked in to catch up on today's match and David Hopps didn't let me down ?: Dystopian science-fiction novels have never been shy of depicting an isolated and fearful society in which debilitated human beings become over-reliant on technology and are force-fed propaganda in a sad and meaningless existence.
  13. Only every other over on my stream; they show the start of the bowler's run up, then go behind the wicketkeeper.
  14. It's now 5, but a long way to go yet.
  15. George Bartlett scored a Century when we beat Glos last year; today would prove timely if he can repeat it. In other news; Essex now 77/8! I am pleased Durham appear to be improving this season after the deal they were dealt by the powers that rule English cricket. Sorry George ?. Does anybody know why the stream appears to be only showing from behind the wicketkeeper, rather than behing the bowler's arm?
  16. In other news, Essex 36/5 against Durham.
  17. He does open, and even scored a Century last season in the BWT final against Essex at Lords.
  18. Poor old Tom Lammonby. A very promising young batsman, but he now has successive ducks, and only scored 5 in the First Innings against Middlesex - an average of 1.67 so far this saeson.
  19. Well, Well. I would never have guessed; I always had you down as a straight, pretty Macho sort of man. Anyway, Well Done for coming out and I wish you all the best. Yours in friendship.
  20. To the best of my knowledge, the only two professional players I ever played against were the two Mabbutt brothers, our own Kevin and his younger brother, Gary. Unfortunately, Kevin matched your description of Payne, but Gary was just class, both in the way he played and his sportsmanship. To be fair, their father, Ray, the ex-Rovers player, attended the various matches in which I played against his sons, and he was very supportive of all the young players from both teams, his sons and their opponents.
  21. Indeed, it does seem to be a good Glos. side. Should make for a good match this week - for a change ?.
  22. Hmmm. A scratchy 5 in the First Innings and out for a firstball duck in the Second. Told you so ?.
  23. There you are - corrected your wishful thinking. Shame.
