Wow.
Where's this reported?
It concerns just one player, a trialist (Billy Boden) who has been offered a 3 month contract.
If I understand correctly, he is recovering from an injury.
-
He wouldn't have come back anyhow - he's having an operation on his back and out for 3-4 months.
Of course, and I tend to suspect this (his possible return for the knock-out stages) was something of a PR attempt by the powers that be in Taunton.
I believe that CG is playing a charity match prior to his operation so, theoretically, might have been able to delay his op, but given he left one match early from his contract (and missed the first scheduled game due to his Indian commitments) I am not sure how keen he was to return in any event.

To commentate for Sky?
A reasonable day at Middlesex amongst all the Ashes hysteria.
Rained off tonight.
Shame, as this would seem that Chris Gayle will not be coming back after all.
-
Presumably, we shall not now be seeing Chris Gayle back for the finals after all!

I do like this gem "We won't upgrade the mem, the only stand we've ever paid for is a bloody tent..."
Where was that 'gem'?

A very good day, in fact, as young Lewis Gregory seems to have found his bowling form again (following on from his fine batting performance against Sussex).
-
Pleasing to see not least for the franchise nonsense as presumably they'd be in the counties culled for it.
Somersets wankathon of having Gayle play three matches has worked. Oh.
But he is coming back for the finals
-
The man behind this supposed 'takeover' is a certain Chris Samuelson - well worth a Google.

My mother in law has a tattoo of a shell on her thigh, if you put your ear to it, you can smell the sea.
Is your Mum called 'Michelle'?
-
Okay I might be thick but I don't get it ?
That 'joke' is at least 50 years old and is only funny due to comments like yours!

Bloody Glos does the impossible AGAIN
121 needed to avoid following on. 115 for 7 - piece of piss. Not for the Glos though 116 all out
Don't beat yourself up too much Aizoon - 150 is follow-on difference, not 200.
Glos would have required another 50 odd runs, not just the 6.
-
Lovely Stuff. Made that harder than needed to be..
What!?
Read back through some of your earlier posts on this thread!
I watched the game on 'TV', and I have to say it could (should?) have been finished a few overs earlier - and would have been if Somerset had not given away 20 or so runs at the end of the Glos innings.
-
Yep, that's why Thomas took on the captancy (and has retained it) - I think Tres is happy to sit back, but clearly Barrow is shit out of form and we've got no other option. Maybe worth throwing Bates in on Friday, can't be any worse and is vastly better with his glove work.
It would seem that Tres has, indeed, been rested for the T20 games and Bates will be playing tomorrow.
And of course, Chris Gayle will be back for the finals....
-
Not so much Anderson but everything else over the past 2-3 years. We've lost a huge amount of tallent and replaced it with players of a poorer quality. The whole Gayle thing this week has become symptomatic of the situation..
Any particular view on the Allenby/Meschede swap?
Finally rained off tonight, by the way.
Did you go?
-
...no real surprise but Corey Anderson has flown home leaving Somerset without another overseas player.
Truly is a shambles behind the scenes at Taunton.. It's threatening to become a complete car crash in fact
Don't worry.
I heard they were hoping to sign Ronchi.
-
My opinion based on things people connected with SCCC have said to me
Oh Well.
Fingers crossed you're wrong.

-
No he won't - don't believe all the PR bullshit from Taunton
Because Somerset will now fail to qualify or empty words from both parties?
Your opinion or 'in the know'?
-
And now it's announced Gayle won't be playing Saturday against Glamorgan due to exertions over the past 12 months!!!
Of course nothing to do with the fact he has been on the piss for the past week and spent the past 24 hours out with KP
Strange how he is fit for tomorrow night but not for Saturday
But he will be back for the knock-out games and finals day!
-
He really does come across as a top bloke, he could have hidden in a hotel in London while he's here but he's our enjoying everything the West Country offers and embracing it's people on the way.
Hoping to be heathy for Friday..
Did you manage to get there?

Kieswetter retires due to his eye injury. Gutting.
http://www.somersetcountycc.co.uk/2015/06/craig-kieswetter-to-retire-from-professional-cricket/
How awful. In an interview, he seems to state that his retirement is as much due to mental reasons as the physical injury itself. One can only begin to imagine how difficult it must be to face a cricket ball coming at you at 100mph when, in the back of your mind, you remember what happened last time.
I hope he finds something worthwhile in his new career.

Stop telling people what to do and think you angry control freak
Just who do you think YOU are to be telling TMOR what he should do and think?
You are the freak and, as ever you just exaggerate, or even lie.
Next thing, you'll be telling us how to catch a taxi to the bahnhof!

Dover are a bunch of ferries.
Genuine question.
Many years ago (I played at a reasonable {County League} level) it would be nothing when, following a 'hard' tackle, a player would say something akin to 'Get up you big girl's blouse' or 'Get up you f...ing poof'.
I repeat, genuine question, but would such language be allowed today?

Balanta. Again injury related.
