Further complicated by the loans from other creditors (£160m) being secured on the new stadium and more than half of Moshiri's shares.
It's a Gordian knot but Alexander the Great is unlikely to take the club over.
Surely someone in Liverpool has a sword.

I was going to suggest Ian Holloway or even Joey Barton as ‘Cult Heroes’, but I don’t have my reading glasses on and suspect I may have misread the word cult.

Such heartbreak?
No he is German, proper heartbreak was 1966.
His parents, perhaps, but 1966 was more than 20 years before he was born.

Last time they got to the final it was at Wembley.
Where they played (and lost to) Bayern Munich....
It would be a romantic and fitting end to Marco Reus' Dortmund career were he to score the winner on 1 June, as he has suffered such heartbreak in his career, notably being injured before two World Cups.

I like Henry Winter's football journalism, and I thought his comment on last night's PSG/Dortmund match was spot on.
'Italian ref Daniele Orsato showing how to run a game. Supported by VAR rather than governed by it. Strong, applied advantage and decisive (rightly, quickly changed pen to fk. And Mbappe one prob 50-50). Respected by players.'

Well Yes, of course Graham, my post was facetious, but it was just a lighthearted, throwaway comment.
On a more serious note, what is Dave Rennie, the medical one, doing at Doncaster?
I mean, Good Luck to both him and Doncaster (although, I have always had a soft spot for Crewe and their youth development, Dario Gradi’s indiscretions notwithstanding), but I thought with his background with Leicester he would have gone on to something a bit better after leaving City.

Completely passed me by that Dave Rennie is now at Doncaster.
Does he still have that wonderful moustache?

I'm sorry to go on, but this is now becoming quite amusing or, at least, it would be were it not so embarrassing.
So, the Club statement that wasn't a club statement.
Season ticket cards
by Bristol Rovers Supporters Club | May 5, 2024 | News
We have now received a reply to our email to the Football Club regarding the charge for a physical season ticket card and as promised have copied it below for you all to see: - this seems quite official to me.
‘We have provided all disabled fans through Clare to get FREE cards for them upon request. As for normal fans and older fans they can purchase the card for 15 pounds, which is the exact cost on the club, and we are not making any money on it, just covering the costs.
‘Clubs like Peterborough and Blackpool charge all fans 20 pounds for cards that includes disabled fans too - except that Peterborough only charge £10, but free if there are no changes to the details on the previous season's card.

All is revealed and clear now.
Are TG and BT related?

I thought it was a sick joke, further investigation suggests it's a genuine bit of club communication.
Understandably, Fewers are double livid. And who can blame them?
To clarify, my response to the original post post was a laugh because, as you thought initially, this comes across as a sick joke.
Entirely unintentional, I am sure (hope), but quite pathetic in its crass insensitivity.

This afternoon, live on TNT Sports; the Nat League play off final. Who would you prefer in the EFL; Bromley or Solihull?
Max O'Leary's former club would be my preference.

I believe it was a bloke called Dennis Bryan (sp?) he later joined the Bee Gees .
Wow.
Your spelling of his name is correct and, as you suggested, he did indeed join the Bee Gees - in 1973!
He was their drummer during their heyday.
With thanks and acknowledgment to WIKI.

Mike is @1960maaan. Thought “everyone” knew that.
Actually, I didn’t, but then, I am far away and out of touch.
Please don’t tell me he is a former player.

Hi Slarti,
I wonder whether you or any of the ‘old music’ aficionados on here might be able to help - luckily I checked my punctuation before posting, as I referred to you initially as an ‘old’ music aficionado , so you can thank Miss Taylor for that.
Do you have any idea who the drummer was on the Amen Corner link I posted earlier on this thread?
I showed the video to my mother when I was last across, but she had no recollection - understandably.
I just remember she was always very keen on that ‘lovely, cheeky looking drummer’ and wondered whether he remained with AC or moved on.

No game is meaningless. You think LM thought it was meaningless?
Thats not to say go overboard in our reactions, but nor can you pick and choose either. Mike’s critique is fine, and he raises a number of options of things that could’ve been differently.
I have followed the thread on and off since this morning, but don’t recall seeing any critique from´Mike’.
I assume he uses a pseudonym on here, but am wondering to which post you were referring.
I would assume it was @1960maaanand, if so, I tend to agree with his overall points.

Tbf as I said earlier you could barely see the track. With us at 15-2 now and 30 plus overs left this could be 15-18 wickets day one. I’d imagine it’ll be reported but it seemed obvious from the moment I put the stream on.
From what I’ve been watching, albeit only periodically, I didn’t really see anything wrong with the pitch.
In fairness, we were asked to prepare pitches specifically to help our spin bowlers, but as neither Leach nor Bashir were selected, nor has a wicket yet fallen to spin, this argument might not count for much in the event of the pitch being reported .
Umeed doesn’t appear to be too uncomfortable - he has now hit two sixes, both off fast bowlers.

Essex 8 down now
It looks as if a 12 point deduction will be on the way.
Oh Dear.
Now All Out for 156 = 20 points reduction.

I find this a but odd. Did you ever frequent the Swan?
There were about 15 of us who were in there most nights. We would all meet up together before games, over the years pubs changed.
Some of us would always be at away games, usually hiring a mini bus, or if needed a Luton van.
There was also Hacker's coaches. I'm sure many old boys remember Paul.
Yes there were a number of Rovers supporters around. But most of them haven't been since Eastville. Whereas myself and all my old mates still go.
For some unknown reason, I referred to The Globe in my earlier post, when, of course, I meant The Swan.
We probably shared some of Hacker’s coaches .

Grew up living in Winterbourne in 70s and finding a City fan was a rarity, it was all gas. We even had Rovers boss Bert Tanns daughter as our teacher, Rovers players came to the school regularly. For me it was always City after my dad took me to a game.
That’s interesting.
By the mid/late 1970s, both The Globe and The Wheatsheaf were staunchly City.
