  1. Regrettably, I fear it is more likely to be our old friend, Tom Lockyer.
  2. When I posted my 'sarcy' reply, I thought you had made an unintentional typo, but it's frustrating sometimes, isn't it? A bit like trying to differentiate between source and source?
  3. You did it on purpose, didn't you ?? Annoying things people say in football chat on otib..
  4. I really don’t want Semenyo to leave this season, or, at a minimum, not in this window, but I have to say, watching Eze and Zaha playing against Liverpool, that would be an extremely exciting attack - always assuming all three play together.
  5. As several have already tried to explain, Steve Lansdown (Bless him) doesn't need nor want any of the AS fee should he go; not £5M, not £10M nor even, should we be so fortunate, £15M. Every year, for the past few years, SL has pumped in a sum considerably in excess of any potential transfer fee the sale of AS might generate. In addition, just in case you have forgotten, SL also financed the regeneration of Ashton Gate. Take a step back and reconsider the logic, or lack thereof, of your posts.
  6. I was out most of Sunday, so didn’t attempt it until after my dinner - obviously, with the hour’s time difference, it was already today’s version.
  7. That is confirmation that the one I completed successfully was not the one that was giving everybody problems ?.
  8. I only attempted it after dinner this evening. Wordle 422 6/6 ? ?? ??? ??? ???? ????? I do wonder, however, if I did today's or tomorrow's.
  9. Hopefully, you are now satisfied that the correct spelling is, indeed, Atyeo ?.
  10. As others have said already, an extremely young and inexperienced team today. Perhaps clutching at straws, but it would seem to bode well for the future, and it pleasing to see that, finally, Steve Davies (Bless him) was rested to give young James Rew his chance - and how he took it!
  11. And, had we not thrown away three points in the last minute, when we played them at home last season, we might have been playing them again this season.
  12. It may well be, but surely that is not the point. It is the price of the postage stamp that pays for Royal Mail’s input and, if that has not increased, where is the justification for a 50% increase?
  13. People misspelling John Atyeo annoys me. I appreciate many on here were not even born when he was playing and, in some cases, their parents probably weren’t either, but, for goodness sake; not only was he (in my opinion) the greatest City player in living memory, but we also have a stand named after him. Digressing slightly, but he should also have been the player with the most appearances, and no doubt would have been were it not for some disgraceful shenanigans at the end of LC’s career.
  14. Luckily, I managed to stock up before the ban.
  15. Personally, I don’t mind per se, per se, but I do get slightly annoyed when I see it written per say.
  16. Not only do we know the quotes, but some of us even know that the film is about a man mistaken for Jesus, rather than a former City player now playing (occasionally) for Fulham ?.
  17. If I understand correctly, Tesco/IKEA is built over what used to be the Tote End. My recollection of playing Rovers at Eastville back in the 1960s/70s, is that there were never very many Rovers fans in the Tote End whenever City played there, so nothing appears to have changed. A shame, really, as there always used to be a great atmosphere whenever I went in the Tote End.
  18. It was, indeed, dating back to their Doncaster days. I well remember his wonderful, MotM performance for Doncaster at Ashton Gate.
  19. Perhaps, but for £250,000?
  20. Oh, absolutely, Ayling seemed to be very much on the periphery, just laughing, which made it all the more disappointing to read that this unsavoury event might have been instrumental in him leaving when he did.
  21. Hopefully, he will be remembered for this, rather than a childish incident a few years ago at Cheltenham races.
  22. For @archie andrews. Hard to believe, but Heinz Baked Beans were first sold (in the UK) out of Wigan. Apparently, imported from the USA, landed at Wigan Pier and distributed throughout the UK.
  23. Thanks, as always, for a very interesting match day thread. In particular, I was intrigued by the following little snippet about their benefactor, David Whelan. When Whelan’s football career, as an uncompromising defender at Blackburn Rovers, was cruelly cut short after breaking his leg in the 1960 FA Cup Final against Wolverhampton Wanderers, he used the compensation to build his JJB Sports business empire. I don't think I have ever heard that, and I certainly don't recall DW ever mentioning it in the many interviews he has given.
  24. He played the full 90 minutes this evening.
