Does this mean we'll get some interviews where new signings aren't forced to tell us that they think 'the pathway' and 'The high performance centre' are really good?

Any forcefully nudged to talk about the fans in every interview they do

  2. So if/when it goes badly again on Saturday, where do you think the fans will target their anger? The players? Simply, they’re not good enough to play the style that they’re being asked to. There’s a reason we didn’t play like this with Pearson and it shows! Manning…….. whilst some of his decisions have been questionable and I think he’s tried to change too much too quick, he was given an opportunity to take a job at a higher club doing ok, I don’t blame him for giving it a shot. The Lansdowns, now for me this is where the blame lies but they’ve also done a massive amount for the club and the grass isn’t always greener but does this give them the right to avoid criticism? Tinion…. Also had a big part to play in the switch and as others have mentioned, failed in the job that he now feels qualified to oversee, but has been a massive part of the youth players come through over recent years.

  3. Just wondered if anyone would have a set of these cuff links that they would be willing to part way with for a cost? Currently out of stock in the club shop and when I asked at the weekend we’re unsure when they were getting more in.

Neither you nor I know whether JL said "Dad I want to be Chairman for Christmas" or "Son, I'll make you Chairman for Christmas".

Either way - it was dumb dumb dumb.

Although I appeared to be in a minority , I liked Colin Sexton as a Chairman- at least he worked his way up on merit . Chairman are invariably likely to be unpopular in  most scenarios which don't involve honours or beeing a saviour but JL really isn't fit to wear the job.

I heard what Jon actually asked for was a cowboy outfit, Steve misunderstood and gave him Bristol city to run.

Genuinely feels like the only reason we’re not further down than we are, is that there are plenty of other basket case clubs about as well. We are run piss poorly and it’s pure luck that we’re still a mid table Championship side, and equally frustrating that we’re not taking advantage of being in an industry with a bunch of other poor owners.

It’s not pure luck, it was Pearson and the players willingness to keep fighting for him

  6. Don’t think he is out, maybe rested for tomorrows match but will be back in the squad Saturday. There got to be something more to Scott’s reply. I reckon someone’s started a rumour and Alex and Tommy are sat in they’re apartment bored and fancied a laugh.

Anyone with thicker cases may need to take phone out of case

    (not saying you have btw)

Unfortunately I require an Allen key to take my case off and my ticket didn’t work today. It always works when paying in shops. In my opinion this is a club issue not mine and I won’t be carry a spare Allen key in my pocket to remove it just for matches

  8. I’ve always said teams always end up where they’ve previously been. I found a news paper under some floor boards at work and was surprised how similar the league tables back in the 60s were to nowadays. That’s why I’m my opinion teams like Sheffield Wednesdays, Ipswich, Portsmouth will return to the premier league before we do. It’s not in our DNA and why it will take a miracle for it to happen.

@Southend Blue Similar thoughts from me.  Pre-Ashton, always saw Ipswich as a team a neutral would want to do well.

I massively dislike Ashton for what he did here.

Your big test will be as above, working out how to improve the squad whilst moving on those players clogging up your squad who you cannot afford to move on.

You have players who’ve played and been a success at this level (Chaplin, Morsy, etc).  Will be interesting to see how Wes does at this level.  Broadhead is a smart striker who should be fine (hamstrings permitting) too.

Agents are gonna love you this summer!

Especially interesting considering Ashton recently included their expected income from player trading when talking about profit and losses for this current season.

  10. Nope, had the same idea so did exactly the same thing on Saturday and now left with 1 £5 gift card and a load of point that I can only use to buy an old pair of socks, a pair of shorts I could probably fit one cheek into or a load of novelty items that they can’t flog in the shop. Other than that it’s entering a draw that you have next to no chance of winning.

The whole idea of the rewards scheme is good and an added bonus you can gain points from other retailers. But if they’re not going to issue it back in credit or make you use it to buy tat they can’t sell then it’s not exactly a reward in my opinion and if anything a set back from previous schemes.

If that genuinely is the case then it’s stupid. By that reckoning, every time we sign a player on a three year contract, we do so on the basis that we may only play them for two seasons and may end up paying them to sit in the reserves for half a season or more while we sulk.

Clubs treat players like a commodity and are happy to trade them, loan them out, release them, at will. Why should players be expected to go above and beyond their contract?

And, of course, there are plenty of benefits to him personally in not signing, not least the greater freedom to choose where he goes next.

If I remember correctly, Pearson has previously said the issue with Massengo was he was offered a new contract and he turned it down. Him and his representatives said this is what we are asking for, which in turned city then offered. Once this new deal that they had asked for was on the table they then decided they no longer wanted to agree to it.

And to be honest for a player of his age, despite the glimpses he’s shown, to only produce 3 assists and 0 goals in 99 games and then think he can go messing the club about like that, I can understand the stance the club have taken with this one if true.

Proper bothers me when he says substitution for the baggies or potters. it is west bromwich albion and stoke city. Never liked the bloke

I said exactly the same thing at the time when they were making their substitutions. We’re far to welcoming to other teams both on and off the pitch

The second was a excellent finish if the keeper is in no man’s land. And you’re right West Brom outplayed us. But teams with a better keeper concede neither of those.

Not true, we have a better keeper and we were the ones who conceded it ?

It was & he also made a brilliant save first half too.

    Real mixed afternoon for him.

Be very surprised if he’s dropped for Millwall, we’re obviously trying to ease Bentley out & on the basis of the Lincoln game it would be a gamble to start with Bajic.

It was only a brilliant stop because there wasn’t a West Brom player to tap it in. Otherwise he got a good hand to it but put it straight out into the middle of our six yard box

Greg Halford for Rotherham under Colin.   I get angry on a fairly regular basis at the football but that was the most rage inducing incident I’ve ever witnessed.  How he got away with it I’ll never know!

Yesterday was very very different though.   Context is everything.   There was absolutely no reason for Gosling to time waste and he was very clearly seriously hurt.

Same, they didn’t even have a sub warming up even those they still had subs remaining.
