  1. Yep, it’s at least the second time it’s happened too. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but personally think it’s incredibly disrespectful that people can’t manage it. It was very clearly explained what would happen.

  2. Good game on Tuesday but upto now have thought he’s been very poor to the point I’m questioning my own football knowledge when I read some of the comments about how well people think he’s done. I think we did better as a team when he was out suspended. Seems to be ok between 15 yards either side of the half way line but seems poor defensively and poor final ball. Im guessing @Davefevs will be the man who can probably let us know the stats but I’d imagine his %s of successful passes, dribbles, crosses and number of tackles made aren’t great for someone playing in that position.

As I say most likely it’s me having watched him have an off game and it’s stuck with my opinion of him but just don’t see him as a long term option if we want to progress.

  3. After only signing for Doncaster in the summer, Lee Tomlin has announced his retirement. No matter what you think of the guy, no one can deny his talent and one of maybe 3 or 4 players I’ve seen in my time at city who I can say I really got you off your seat.

I think this is down to Nige saying “nothing to do with me”.  Really need a Richard Gould interview.

By Geoff twentyman, the over-scripted predictable ones from the club are a waste of time

  5. I get that every player wants to play but found it strange this evening when Martin came off, didn’t clap the fans and then headed straight down the tunnel on the final whistle. Always found him to be a model professional but even he surely knows that it’s a long season and his time will come again?

Whilst I didn't think he had his best game, I wouldn't go as far to say he was poor. Gave the ball away a few times, but was always looking to get the ball forward. Especially enjoyed his nut meg by the dolman in the second half.

Didn’t think he overly stood out good or bad on Tuesday but do think that he needs to improve his pass selection if/when he inevitably makes the step up. He excellent passing range but several times on Tuesday he went for the big floating Hollywood ball, when really the ball just needed playing and keep the play moving. But I’m sure with him it will all come in time.

As regards the penalty not given to Atkinson on Tuesday and in the referee's defence.

Whether you believe Rob was fouled or not, players DO go on long runs into the box with the ball, start to run out of steam and look for a penalty.

I'm not saying ours did that, but no one can deny that this happens A LOT.

I saw it once, as did the ref and I thought it looked like he went down easy (and that's not saying he did)

    I didn't think it was a penalty.

The referee in this league sees it once and has to call it.

So I say this. If managers, players and fans want the referee to always get these thing right, players have to stop cheating.

I know many won't like hearing this, but it is a fact.

All teams do it, and all teams seem to want perfect refereeing.

Not happening, so give them a break and that's you too Nige.

Tuesday's ref was not anywhere near as bad as people are saying, and he isn't to blame for all the other decisions in other games that have affected us.

So when is it going to start? When are the players going to start to be honest?

Refereeing standards are seemingly dropping, but the players are NOT helping one little bit.

I don’t think anyone is disagreeing with what you’re saying and it’s not even a dig at the ref from Tuesday. But if you’ve read the thread and seen the stat you’ll see that what people are questioning is how this near impossibility is happening and why. There just isn’t any explanation as to why, especially when we’ve had a fair share of times when we could’ve had one given.

  8. Does anyone think that a lack of strong leaders on the pitch and having Bentley as captain may be part of the problem? When a decision not to award a penalty is made how many of our players actually go in hard on the ref? Maybe Weimann, but just like in our play I feel we miss that nasty streak in our team. I’m not encouraging players getting on the refs back but it does make it an easier decision to make.

  9. I also found it strange how they would basically stand shoulder to shoulder whenever Bentley hand the ball in his hands. My only thought is that Pearson hasn’t been impressed with Bentleys distribution and wants it played out from the middle

Agree about the cladding on the top of the Dolman, surely they could do something interesting with it (watch them come up with some godawful hashtag now).
Also it’s about time they stuck some signage on the outside of the stadium -City/Bears badges. They might be waiting for the full redevelopment to be finished but I think it’s a nice touch on a stadium

I don’t think they ever will, I get the impression the want/need it to be as neutral as possible of other events they hold at the stadium.

  11. Should player be abused? No of course not. But anyone say calling for fines and bans for fans, points deductions  and other punishments need to grow up or stay away from football.

Fans have been doing pitch invasions for as long as I can remember, including ironically Swindon at the county ground against Port Vale 2012! Fans spend thousands of pounds and years of travelling up and down the country for very few moments like these, dont let a few isolated incidences and the media fool you into forcing an agenda to ruin rare moments like these for real fans. Sky sports were more than happy to jump on the bandwagon last night and shows how out of touch they really are.

Very good, though i dont quite know what they do?i wonder how this works, did mansion bet not see the appeal of another over acheiving season with bristol city?

Think the rules have changed with regards to gambling sponsorship on shirts

  13. Another one a bit like pring who’s league loans have gone pretty much under the radar. I think a lot of people forget although not loads and at a lower level, pring has been playing league football now for a number of years.

  14. Heard tonight on radio Bristol when questioned on Bentley being dropped that Pearson said something along the lines of “it’s difficult to drop your captain but dan needs the learn that everyone need to respect the rules” and just seen Gregor McGregor has posted similar in his interview with him. This there something else that’s gone on other than a possible transfer?

Technically the lad is excellent so its no surprise this is an area he thrives in. Work on his composure a touch and with more experience and his natural ability, i don't see a reason he can't be a key man for us for years to come

I can, he won’t be with us very long if he keeps his performances up over the next couple of years!

  16. Bit of a weird thought, but want if they they scanned someone and they genuinely think they have an explosive device on them.... what then? Surely the person would then let it off there where they are. Yes it’s better than going off in a stadium where even more people would be affected but it’s hardly a preventative measure.

Will be an interesting team sheet today. Hard to predict as we have no idea of who's fit and how git after such a grueling schedule. Plus interesting who will be the GK on the bench. Also can Gustav be named in the squad? He should be fresher than most of our squad do could be useful if so.

No O’Leary for Solihull today so guessing it will be him
