  1. I don't know, do you? are you sat in on the Al-Qadi family meetings? We will only find out in the longer term how serious and what money goes into the bigger picture projects
  2. well they bought 29 acres (anyone know what the value of that might be) with theirs or someone else's money
  3. I guess it will be funded by the Dwane Sports Group in whichever way they acquire finance. They maintain finance (again however it has been sourced) has never been a problem for UWE, just getting the deal done. Perhaps some of the funds from the sale of The Mem will go into the training facilities. For noe the aim is to get the minimum set out so the youths can play there and the the first team to train. They are visiting Fleetwoods training centre, so I guess future development s will require further PP anyway first
  4. Bare in mind its the Al-Qadi family. Hani is the chairman on Dwane sports and he was the one commenting on the purchase of the training grond. Wael osnt pushing things through without family approval
  5. No one said it will be a Cat 2 academy in months. It is going.to be prepared so the first team can train. The rest is all part of a longer term plan. ignoring all the Bristol/Dwane Sport franchise shit a second, 29.acres dont buy themselves and the work that goes into it costs. Its a step forward and we all have to start somewhere. Ashton Gate wasnt built in a day etc. Everything happens over time (hopefully)
  6. well i dont expect buying 29 acres is a cheap. Skint obviously
  7. just remember you are relying on one on non-league 15ers players to keep you in The Championship
  8. Do we need too? They will be allowed to leave if someone comes in for them, otherwise they will be paid til the end.of their.contracts in the summer
  9. I thought you lot might 'appreciate' this Horfield SHARE PICTURE Copy link to paste in your message The name Horfield is Anglo-Saxon in origin, meaning filthy open land. Historically, the area had a reputation as a lawless place because Horfield Wood was the haunt of thieves and vagrants. The area remained rural until the early 19th century. 10. indeed, hence the pinch of salt comment
  11. Well we have played the last 3 or 4 without him so...
  12. Taking everything with a pinch of salt, Wael said funding was there (in what form and from whom, who knows). The problem appears to be coming to an agreement with UWE on the land
  13. Nick Higgs will be the main debtor. As far as I am aware there are no other outside debts. The MSP loan was partly taken.out to repay Barclays. Nothing was disclosed regards the sale of the club, so anything else is only an assumption and I guess part of the repayment may be down to the sale of the Mem should we ever get to move to a new stadium
  14. The MSP loan wasbpaid, other debts to be cleared periodicly Hamer has also confirmed that a short-term loan that was accruing interest at 1.2 per cent per month has been settled with the lender. The club, under the old regime led by Nick Higgs, obtained the £2million loan from a company called MSP Capital in December 2014 in order to continue their legal fight against Sainsbury’s. A sum of close to £3million has been repaid, and Hamer said: “That was all part of the acquisition.
  15. I hate the whole tax dodger thing people throw around. If Steve Lansdown wants to live in Guernsey and limit the time he can spend on the mainland thats his perogative. The only issue I have, is if I had SLs money, i woyld probably have chose the Bahamas or something
  16. The MSP loan has been cleared. What Wael said was the other debt would be cleared over time. Not sure many of our fans actually remeber those smaller details. The remaining debt though is basically owed to Nick Higgs and the other former directors
  17. He said it from the start, so hardly coming out now. I am one who actually pays attention. Go back through the thread and u have been pretty level headed. i am happy with our position at the moment, hapoy we seem to moving forward with the training ground and the additions behind the.scenes. They might no be much to you, but our an.improvement and a step in the right direction for us. Lord knows what is hapoening with UWE though. I dont want us to throw money around for the sake of it even if we had it. You only have to look at yourselves to see what it is costing.to compete in The Championship and that is something we sure as hell arent ready for without a stadium. if we fluked going up through the play offs this year, whilst you cant turn promotion down, I dont beleive it would help us in the long run
  18. He may be full of shite for all us know, but the one thing he has always said is he wont be flashing the cash around. So on that front pretty honest and truthful wouldnt you agree?
  19. Rory Gaffney last season. You are welcome
  20. There are a few of us. Even i am getting exasperated by some of our fans and what they think we should spend
  21. Who said anything about nobody being available? Surely its about getting the right players, the players you want. how much did you spend.on that Engval and how many games has he played for instance
  22. I never said he was going to spend any money though
  23. Nice to know you are so interested in our transfer business Clarke said he wants his top targets but might have to wait til the summer to get them. If he cant he has other short term options.
  24. I dont think we have sold many top strikers on the cheap and.certainly not without a sell on clause like City As for Taylor, he wasnt our player in the summer so we had to offer something. Who knows what theexact rrlease clause maybe, but i guess sometbing that needed to be there for him to come back
  25. I don't know. I always thought it was in the laws of the game. you can't stand off the pitch in the opponents half and run onto a long ball for instance and be through on goal for instance. It's still funny, much like the phantom whistler when Browning scored against Brentford, just always wondered why they were allowed to stand
