  1. not tin pot but a basket case for sure
  2. But you got to the top. I guess that was Rovers fault you fell and fell aand went bust.
  3. I agree with you to a degree on the jump to the Championship. I think we need to establish ourselves back in league One and the new owners have time to implement any plans and hopefully get the stadium built. I wouldn't turn down promotion if it came. but if we were somehow good enough/fortunate to go straight up again, we wouldn't be ready
  4. depends on what you class as an achievement. Not many teams have come straight back up from the conference. Cheltenham have done well but I would suggest they were better prepared/ran to be a conference club given how they were operating in the league compared to us and adapting was less of a challenge. This year, we were what 4 goals better than Accrington, so in that sense we deserved it. Accrington have had an outstanding season in relative comparison Is Clarke the best manager? all subjective at the end of the da with different circumstances. Gerry (1st time round) is probably still top at the moment, but Clarke could better him As for the Post, to be honest I give up with them they write so much shite all round, Rovers, City, the news
  5. out of interest what was incorrect about it. It was stupid, but not incorrect
  6. I would take it. Even Wael was not expecting to go straight up ans its a bonus. Next season is about the new ownership putting whatever ideas into place/reality (if they are to be) Consolidation for me is key and hopefully getting a sound footing to potentially push on. Too much too soon might be a hinderance
  7. Sorry for trying to answer one of your 'friends' questions
  8. all the Home tickets were sold. there were 11,130 officially. Daggers had their allocation reduced to 400 and only sold 291 and there was a small segregated area. (no more than 100 seats I would say) apparently the official capacity is 11,916 according to online sources (although I guess that doesn't include any segregation) to me though that doesn't add up
  9. Purely for banter as i know some of you will enjoy taking the piss out of it.
  10. Its not unique no. The third division might be our level. Obviously anything can happen but i would hope we have a bit more tha Yeovil borrowing a team every year,.or Stevenage, Fleetwood to be comfortable in league, but it only takes one bad managerial appointment or aignings that dont care. Yesterday was great, and enjoyable the party will continue later. Hopefully next year is positive but i will lake 20th now
  11. Enjoy your last game today guys. Hope Rovers do the business and we get a bit of luck in one of the other games. Regardless of the banter and arguments, i hope this is the start of a good time.to be a football fan in Bristol, Red or Blue
  12. Yes I do wonder how it will be funded. The same questions I was trying to ask of the old board to be honest. However the new owners actually give me some confidence they can actually secure real investments and not try and blag everything like the last lot of chancers At the moment we are back to square one and the questions will be asked in due course. Or maybe they won't have to be as the new people seem to actually communicate to the fans and they will tell us how it will all come together as and when
  13. and the same token there are many of your lot that don't consider us rivals any more but continue to talk about us. I am not going to get carried away with how much or how little the new owners at Rovers have or whether The/A Stadium comes out of his pocket or is actually well funded. However so far they are a breath of fresh air and I am glad to be finally rid of the chancers we had leading us to oblivion.
  14. I have no idea whether Wael and co will build the stadium or not, but everything that has come out of the new regime seems to be that they are trying to sort out stuff that the last lot either hadn't sorted or were 'selling off SIlver within' the project in their desperation to build it
  15. I guess football is all what if's, buts and maybes and clichés at the end of the day What if Geoff Bradford never broke his leg (or was replaced) and Rovers got promoted to the 1st division, what if you had won the Championship play-off final. Personally as I have said before I'd rather Rovers and City had a healthy rivalry as high up the divisions as possible. obviously that means success for both teams to a degree.
  16. personally I believe we should have sold out, but nowt queer as folk. I think the problem is that we have averaged 6,500 most of the season so the extra are all pay on the day. I know there were a few people that were forking out for the last 4 or 5 games all in one go so they had a ticket and some couldn't afford to do all the games. Might be poor, might be a lame excuse but that is the challenge for us and every other clubs getting the 'extra' fans to commit to Season tickets and making them regulars
  17. I only mentioned 35K stadium as that is the potentially expansion at UWE. I have no idea what the owners want to build. I don't see myself bragging about filling that or even 21k if anyone bothered to read the words I actually wrote. As for Exeter tomorrow. I imagine some people will hold off and are hedging their bets with the play-offs a possibility. Most people have plumped for the last game of the season which is sold out. This is why (like you) improving or building a new ground is important. Hopefully helps bring RELATIVE success and people commit to better facilities, or better facilities attract more people which helps success as the circle goes round, like every club that attempts to do it
  18. I'm not in to getting carried away like some of our fans have. Definitely small steps for us, but there at least seems to be a better feeling around the club. If we ever build a new stadium be it 21,000, 26,000 or 35,000 at UWE, if something actually starts to happen I think it will encourage more people to come back or start supporting Rovers. I don't pretend we would fill it or even get better crowds than yourselves if you were doing well, but I think the stadium issue is the one thing that has eroded away Gasheads more than any other or I should say the failure to produce on despite many plans.
  19. Beleive it or not, not all of us were sucked in to the hyperbole and poor reporting of the take over. I have no idea what the Al Qadis are worth and to be honest i dont really care as long as they run the club right
  20. Whatever happens and whater division we are in, it is at least possible to beleive a better future after Higgs nearly gambled it all away. I am not taken in by the bluster and speculation of how much the Al Qadis are or arent worth, but they at least seem to come over a damn site more business savvy then.the last lot. Hopefully we go up and with you lot safe in the championship things will be positive for football in Bristol at least. Maybe in the Rugby as well if they dont screw up again. Hopefully we can.join you in the championship in the near future and not necessarily 3.promotions on the bounce
  21. Which bit about Amtrak buying the site for that price and us paying the same for half is confusing you
  22. 2.3 million was what Amtrak were going to pay for the site, we paid that for 50% with the 10k site How much should we have paid? Not our fault Bristol Rugby has been badly run that Rovers saved them and then years later Steve Lansdown had to save them.from going tits up Bristol were going bust and would have sold it the Mem to a distribution firm. But i guess its all a conspiracy
  23. Bristol Rugby sold that not us,.better ask the owners of the time what they did with it
