  1. We paid 2.3 million for 50% the same price Amtrak were paying to put a distribution centre on the site. The deal was either side could buy the other 50% for 10k So thats 2.3m plus 10k we paid.for the ground. All in the accounts as we have/had the mortgage to prove it
  2. Um i said each to their own with their opinions and i didnt want to argue. The only point that bothered me was the fallacy of us stealing/trying to steal other peoples grounds. As for trying to get it on the cheap as you say, aa in not steal. Iant that business. You had little or no money so we made an offer. It wasnt good enough so end off. Is that any different than any club trying to buy a player on the cheap when x club is in financial trouble?
  3. So we have established we have never stolen anyones ground As for 82, i beleive we made an offer to buy AG when you were going bust. Thats buy, as in not steal
  4. Each to their own. People can have their own opinions. The only thing that irks me is those that spout Rovers stealing someones ground. The facts are there, we bought it from the rugby wing of Bristol Sport when they disnt have a pot to piss in or Steve Lansdown to save them 2.3 million thr same as Amtrak were going to pay for the site and Bristol wouldnt have had a ground at all
  5. who was paying for the AG redevelopment out of his own pocket again? http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristol-City-season-ticket-holders-face-hike-100/story-29025735-detail/story.html
  6. Serious point, do you think the reduced AG capacity would have enticed fans to get STs and bump up the attendance in the event that if you had a good season they wouldnt be scrabbling for tickets. How many STs did you sell out of interest?
  7. it doesn't matter he is a **** anyway. he will be booted out soon now this is all over
  8. basically if HL pay a dividend to it's shareholders, SL currently has to pay less in income tax as he is a non resident (I think that is the simplified version). Again perfectly legal and not a dodge that people claim as SL is limited to time he can spend here before he becomes liable. I mean if I was in SLs position I'd do the same and move probably. I'd just choose somewhere warmer than Guernsey
  9. As I say I have no gripe with Steve Lansdown and Tax, he does what he does (as far as any of us know) perfectly legally. Not his problem or his fault. If anyone has a problem with it it should be directed at the system. I don't know anyone who wouldn't pay less tax if they could so find all the shouts of 'tax dodger' aimed at SL pretty boring and pointless I am not a tax expert, so no idea what tax Dwane Sport would be charged or avoiding giving that it is owned by a non Uk resident. Again just like SL I am sure all done above board All I know is where I work if you ring HMRC they can never give you a straight answer and it seems nearly half the clubs in England are owned ‘overseas’
  10. not so sure the tax dodger bit is true, but correct me if I am wrong Bristol Rovers FC will pay all it's UK Tax. We have a foreign owner who doesn't live here and doesn't have any income here (as far as I am aware) and thus wouldn't pay UK Tax anyway. For the record, I have no gripe with Steve Lansdown doing what he can legally to limit his tax bill. That isn't his fault or problem
  11. Typical of the rubbish paper the BEP is. As for saying he isn't super rich, what constitutes not being Super rich, rich, well off?
  12. I know we do that was my point. The poster i quoted was saying if Al Qadi is so rich why does he nees to sell naming rights, we still play at AG Well SL is rich enough that you dont need lager sponsorship in front of the Ateyo stand surely
  13. I agree there needs to be some realism. The excitement of the past couple of days has caused some hysteria for sure. The weeks and months to come will hopefully shake things out and ground some people At leas Mr Al Qadi isnt shouting from the roof tops yes but the Wonga loan is due April circa 3m. That is the crippling debt. I assume that would be pAid off. First The rest is owed to the directors who will probably be paid back over time
  14. I would hope they have paid off Wonga first
  15. And.did you read what i wrote underneath. They obviously have money and continue to generate money. What they have all over is anyones guess.
  16. No one knows do they. But we were relying on other peoples money before so.... I am trying to be realistic. I dont know their wealth but i assume they are business savvy enough to evaluate everthing before jumping in on someone elses project There has been some foolishness from our fans but city and Rovers trying to one each other with no facts seems pointless I guess we will find out in the coming months what the plans and realities are.
  17. All i know is UWE had land from HP and plan or are building a new part of the University and there are plans for bars and a Hotel (Google) Dont know what else is there. I dont doubt you though. As i say the new owners would be remiss to not explore all avenues and plunge straight in to a project that isnt theirs
  18. Personally I have no clue, but they obviously have some. The AJIB shareholders were paid a 12% dividend last year according to the Jordan Times and they have plenty.of business interests. As I say even if they dont have masses of personal wealth (relatively speaking) he atea they are in they have access to money and/or people with it
  19. I agree there needs to be some realism. The excitement of the past couple of days has caused some hysteria for sure. The weeks and months to come will hopefully shake things out and ground some people At leas Mr Al Qadi isnt shouting from the roof tops
  20. What are you on about. Look around. fair play not selling the Ashton Gate name, but it is a way to create revenue for the club to spend and you know full well the cost of football as your own owner has financed plenty. That Carling Ateyo bloke you had was a good player wasnt he, or is that a great way to honour him when you have a billionaire sticking a cheap lager before his name? As for not having a heart, i would argue we had plenty giving we were homeless for 20 years and survived and even out peformed you lot when we had even less than no pot to piss in
  21. I didnt say they would just sell it did I, only that i suspect they would want to look into the possibilities. They would be foolish not to and.poor businessmen. They might not be able to.do a deal but surely must try
  22. I am not suggesting that UWE will give up or sell the land, just that i imagine the Al-Qadis as business people money men will explore all opportunities. As the deal stands the UWE name creates no revenue other than to build the ground when Rovers didnt have any cash and needed Sainsburys. Now we can finance the project either through personal wealth or acees to investors being in that field and thus any naming rights be it AJIB or Joe Bloggs trading would create reveune for the club FFP and all that There is other land out there to be developed. Whether The Al Qadis can get in on that i dont know but surey as investment bankers and Hoteliers they would be foolish to not enquire. Maybe nothing will come of it but i would argue they have the responsibility to eye it up
  23. They arent building it straight off as they want to renegotiate the deal with UWE i suspect. Previously we had no money and sale/leaseback of land and naming rights with UWE were required to finance the stadium. I imagine Mr.Al-Qadi will want to be able to sell naming rights to whom he wants or name it the AJIB stadium an d pay Rovers creating Revenue. There is also other land there with PP for Hotel etc that they are probably interested in
  24. He is amember of the Jordanian FA and a Fifa delegate and got interested in football when he was taken to a Chelsea game when they were really shit. What makes a football person anyway? NH was a fan but...
  25. Oh yeah some of ours have got a bit carried away for sure. The new owner seems far more level headed than what some of our fans are. You guys look like you might have turned the corner so playing you next season might not be so close as it was a couple of weeks ago. Hopr to see you in the championship in a couple of seasons. Fingers crossed
