So, loyal football fans of relatively small club queue for tickets for a plum cup match.  Meanwhile across the city, smug fans of club bankrolled by billionaire celebrate making online purchases from their sunbeds abroad.  Frankly, I'd rather be one of those Rovers supporters queuing for a ticket than a fan of one of the multi-million corporate entities who make-up our so called 'premier league'.  Am I the only here who rather admires fans who opt for the smaller club in a two-club city?

    er Yes

  2. Turning the Memorial Ground into a first class training facility!

That's stretching it a bit even with "gaslogic" applied.

What would they do with santa's grotto.

They're better off turning it into a turnip patch as they have a lot of vegetables in and around the dump

  3. All this talk of a new stadium, here's a great idea, why don't they just pitch up I mean relocate to Swindle as they have so much in common, but they have a lovely stadium all ready to move in on. They could put their blue & white tarpaulin roof on in the corner of the Stratton bank and call it home, there's plenty of capacity for both sets of fans, perfect.

  4. Bricks and mortar don't lie. We have a shiny new stadium fit for the Championship and beyond with first class facilities & with a pitch that is purpose built for both sports and is the envy of many.

We have a wealthy, transparent benefactor who is a long standing supporter of Bristol sport.

The sags however have "aquired" a run down rugby ground with a turnip patch pitch. They have been sold out to a foreign owner who's come from nowhere with question marks over whether he has the means to not only buy the club but also invest in a new stadium at a huge cost .

Oh & it seems there is no plan B for a new stadium.

The maths just don't add up, but hey, I won't be thinking of that when I sit in my shiny new seat watching City take on the likes of Villa next season.

Again, I think you are confusing ALL fans of one club with SOME fans of one club.

Some people talk shite- that's just a fact of life- which team they support has nothing to do with it.

Yes, some of your fans are like this, the rest are 'prowed' to be a sag

  6. Our midfield looked distinctly lightweight against theirs and just didn't get close enough but perhaps you have to look at where both clubs were last season rather than criticise our players lack of quality.

We are never going to bridge that gap in a season, it will take several seasons just like Brighton.

What we have to do is take our chances better and be more clinical when they present themselves and cut the individual errors to a minimum.

Having said that, hats off to the 500 or so away fans for their support as you put the 14,500 home support to shame and showed why we are proud to support Bristol City.

  7. I might be missing something here but the original deal was to sell an out dated stadium to generate the funds to build a new stadium elsewhere with said funds.

The new buyer has come in bought the club but at the moment he still has the turnip patch plus the short term debts to pay.

So he's already shelled out once and now is being asked to shell out again.

It doesn't make sense to me, why pay double? It doesn't add up.

    Not that I care mind
