After watching that, the team's effort and commitment cannot be questioned. Neither can the fact that every player on the pitch - Tomlin included - is playing for Lee Johnson. Geifer and Wright look formidable and I do not doubt that, in this window, we have signed the right players in the right positions. So that leaves the question "what's going wrong and what needs to be changed for us to turn things round?" And the only answer left is the manager. Doubtless he is a good man who wants to succeed. But he has to go.

I think the one thing I'd say for our performance is we've created more chances for Forest than they have. Our centre backs look solid but everything else has been poor. Paterson has at least been trying but we've been literally running ourselves into corners. Little in particular has looked a liability. I think he needs to come off but Christ knows who replaces him.

I definitely hope Geifer starts. For one thing, I don't think playing safe by sticking to Fielding is an option for the simple reason I don't think picking Fielding is ever playing safe. You can never be sure if he's going to keep us in the game with a host of great saves or toss it away with a calamitous howler...

Bit embarrassing to call people out and imply you're going to fight them though. So someone called you a **** on the internet. So what? You don't know them and they don't know you. It can't be personal as they know nothing of your life. So why let it bother you and why try and get all macho over it?

Not seen a replay either. I absolutely abhor diving and will criticise any of our players who do it but, at the time, I was absolutely convinced the QPR lad lunged at him and he went down as a result of that (be it jumping out the way or being hit). I really felt he was hard done by. More generally, I thought Tomlin was a victim of his own standards tonight. He showed some great skill and looked our more threatening player but none of his passes quite had their intended result. I'm loathe to overly criticise him though - I thought it was just one of those nights.

I think it's easy to be negative after a loss but the truth is we just didn't have our flow tonight. QPR made a few changes and I wonder if we were prepared for a different match to the one we got. I also think a lack of support/relief for Tammy is starting to show and, whilst it is the last thing I expected to say at the start of the season, I think we're missing Little and the width he gives us at right-back. It's not a disaster but we need to improve. QPR's sub left back looked poor in particular and we didn't capitalise. On the positive side, I thought Bryan showed a lot of commitment and desire late on but overall we didn't do well enough. But we can and have done much better and will do so again.
