  1. I’m actually surprised LJ took on a job like Sunderland. The fans and people up there are a different breed to us laid back Bristolians. They’re a massive club in League One and will be wanting instant success, so I’m not sure LJ is the man to do that as he likes long term ‘projects’.

Bit of a difference coming from a cosy Bristol City with owners you know well, to Sunderland!

Pant on that form would have smacked Shane Warne all over the park. Leach just happened to be victim of some top batting from a very classy batsman - could have happened to any spinner.

Pant and others were obviously targeting Leach. Pant was even giving Bess respect at the other end...

Yeah getting slapped about by Rishabh Pant proves that’s he’s village.

    Good point.

Let’s see if he can win us the game seeing as it’s a minefield.

Decent delivery that for a ‘village spinner’.

Got plenty of tap first innings but I didn’t come on here and gloat... wasn’t great until that one ball that got the wicket this innings...

Let’s see if he can win us the game tomorrow and not the odd ball he gets right...

    Been impressed with Bess however.

Root will be happy to be out like that in a way. The pitch is a nightmare and will be even worse tomorrow.

    England can’t lose from here.

Maybe so but ideally we’d want another 80-100 runs. Anything under 400 and India will back themselves...

I like Crawley but maybe not sure he is right to start the series in India. Not seen enough of Lawrence yet.

Free hit in India now as expecting to lose heavily.

Me too. There’s definitely a player in there, I just think he needs to find his feet as an opener and adjust to the conditions in the subcontinent.
