Why wouldn't you want the app?

Interesting article today, albeit sportsbible so hardly a top level source:

    https://www.sportbible.com/football/news-premier-league-players-and-staff-will-have-to-get-covid-vaccinations-20210722

Vaccines mandatory for Premier League players and staff. At least we know we wont be losing Wells to a Prem club this window!

My app went the day I was pinged because someone in the flat below, who I hadn’t had any contact with, had caught the virus.

Am i missing something here, they couldn’t afford to build at UWE when the land was free but can afford buy the land and build which would be three times as much?

I guess someone is building it for them as part of a bigger project and they will be tenants rather than owners of a new stadium.

Which leagues are letting in fans? I'd wager it's probably countries which haven't been so tight with their restrictions, or have large crowds to deal with, perhaps.  Even Belarus stopped crowds in the end, I believe.

Italy are hoping to allow fans in their grounds before they finish their season.
Spain are looking at it as well. This has caught Real out as they’ve decided to play their remaining games at their mini stadium as they are redeveloping the Bernabéu.

Obviously neither will be opening at full capacity but I think they are working at around 30%.

I assume the fixture list will be in the same order as it always has been, with that being the case Preston is our next game, what a big one to start off with!

Jayden Stockley has tested positive for Covid-19 at Preston, unsure how that will effect their other players.

If they go in order, Blackburn will be our next game. Preston was due to be the last game of the season.

You’d think, but if players are sticking to the rules as they should you’d have to question how there are new infections?

    Bournemouth was last week!

Probably in the same way that normal folk who have been following the rules have caught the virus.

From the 3 rounds of testing, I’m sure the total number of players or staff who have tested positive is still less than the number of players who tested positive in just the first round of testing in Germany.

I don't think that means anything, players have returned as the season may continue, but ts crazy that clubs will be voting and have an agenda based upon league position. What they should have said is the season will be finished, but the choice is this season or delay next season

BBC news (with non relevant bits removed)

Clubs will still be promoted and relegated from the three divisions of the English Football League if seasons are ended amid the coronavirus crisis.

Play-offs will also be played, but with no more than four teams.

The EFL has confirmed that 51% of Championship, League One and League Two clubs need to agree for the campaign in each division to be curtailed.

This could pave the way for the League One season to be cancelled, with teams currently split over a resolution.

The new regulations still have to be voted on by all 71 EFL clubs before they can be implemented.

Players are set to return to training on Monday but with strict protocols.

By all accounts, the majority of the Championship want to continue.

Leaders, Leeds have already come out to say they are strong in their opinion that the season should be concluded.

Always going to be contentious in that you are effectively simulating a result but my personal view would be to take the result between the two sides earlier in the season as the result of the later game as at least it is based on a direct performance between each side rather than a PPG basis which would fail to take into account the strength of opposition yet to play. Different circumstances altogether but they do use the head to head basis in group stages of World Cup / Euro's to decide final positions so there is a basis of precedence for this.

Ultimatley your never going to keep everyone happy with this whole Virus issue as there are so many "what if's" associated with it.

It’s easier to use head to head at the Euros & World Cup because they are one off games at a neutral venue.

I'm surprised to see Hull go for null and void though, makes it quite obvious what they're about, I'd have thought (publicly at least) they'd have supported finishing via ppg as its more likely to get support from other clubs

They’d possibly have got more support from other clubs if they hadn’t gone for all out, null and void.
Fortunately, they won’t get too far with their actions.

**** off Rooney- many are working much less lower paid, greater risk.

Your moaning is neither helpful nor desirable- if you don't wish to play, fine but you forego pay. Not as bad as his article the other month but still..

Interestingly, I watched some Bundesliga yesterday- some parts of games anyway, dipping in and out and I didn't see a single tackle- dunno if that's due to this, I'm sure there were tackles but it'd be interesting to see data of tackles in games pre lockdown and post.

To qualify my comment, stuff he writes about football, insight- that's all an excellent read, but his moaning about restart or expectation for players to take a bit of a hit- mind you Derby got there in the end- does grate.

Watched Köln v Mainz earlier, was a couple of tasty looking challenges going in from the bits I saw.
