  1. Agree with those who say the Aussies look well under par. If even a few English batsmen bat properly I can't see any reason why England can't establish a healthy first innings lead. Fair play to Haddin and Johnson for digging out those scores. Pitch looks a road but must be difficult when you top and middle order have folded so pathetically.

England have a tendency for starting slowly in recent series' and the batting in the summer was poor, but we never got a pitch like this. Think the Aussies have to win too. They're up against it anyway, but failing to beat England at their fortress would be a crushing blow from which there may be no return.

I know it's one innings but Clarke looks shot when it comes to dealing with the short stuff. I hope that it's more to do with confidence after the summer than his back, but sadly I suspect not.

  2. Unfortunately I wasn't joking. It's just a bit annoying. If you want to discuss pre-match business such as predictions and possible team line-ups, then there's a perfectly good thread for that. Me like many other users will come on tonight expecting to find the team line-ups easily, and we'll have to go through 3 pages before we get anywhere, yay...

Without wanting to be a smart arse, on the Munster Fans forum the title of a match thread is usually edited to say which post you'll find the team selections in when they are announced. I've never posted a topic so I've no clue, can that be done here?

  3. Some of the triallists they have taken to Spain are far from unknowns as well, it's clear that there are some decent players out of contract at the moment. It's hard to see how they're in a position to go to Spain for pre-season and take on triallists like Brian Howard, Jon Harley and Izale Mcleod. Surely they should be on the training ground at home doing things on a shoestring with their youth team players? It all seems very strange to me.

Those names are from the BBC Sport website, by the way.

  4. I feel sorry for the fans but the way that club has been run in recent years is absolutely shocking. If it were a proper business and not a football club (spot the irony) then it'd have been wound down months and perhaps even years ago. Of course I sympathise and I'd hate it it if were us (again) but considering their repeated policy of handing out big contracts and generally taking the Michael it is my view they should have gone already.

It would be a lovely gesture if some of the bigger earners walked away, but to label them a disgrace for not doing so is incredibly harsh, it is the club's fault for continually handing out high value contracts.

We were incredibly lucky when it was us. It was an exceptionally selfless gesture from a exceptional group of people and it is not fair to use that as the yardstick by which to measure others against.
