Looks like we (you, really) underestimated the Gas mass @glynriley - by 134! Such a throng.

Would we have to pay extra for his moustache and really great personality?

Warner would be good.
Or Faulkner, if nobody else has signed him yet.

Yeah - he's the only overseas signing so far. Only other players coming in next season Ryan Davies and Roelof van der Merwe
Whispers another Aussie has been in talks for the T20
Interesting. As brilliant as Gayle was on and off the field I can't help but think we'd benefit from bringing in someone who'd be available for the vast majority of the matches, if not all of them.

Anyone know who the somerset overseas players are next season?
As far as I know only Chris Rogers has been announced. Heard nothing on overseas players for T20.

Fup it all anyway... Come on City!

I'm not sure about it at all, but at least they're doing it over both divisions and haven't just lumbered the second division teams with it.

Too late! I saw your post , and then saw Bet365 offering 20/1 on the draw. Having had a drink and not thinking rationally, I thought I had discovered a glitch in the system (as if!) Anyway, my account is now £30 lighter :(
Sorry Miah! I switched it on near the end (having had a few bevvies) and clearly had no clue what was going on. Wallies like me are why I don't gamble.

Are you sure that's not the first fight?
Haha. Must be something in the water. Ignore me.

Ali Durden reporting that Caballero is five and a half pounds over the weight and that the fight is off and Haskins has been given the belt.

In other boxing news, Anthony Crolla has just drawn his world title fight with Darleys Perez. I only saw the last three rounds but the commentators seem to think that Crolla won the fight comfortably.

You're right - I don't get it at all.
I really don't see the skill or "entertainment" in watching two blokes whack each other for a set number of rounds or until one loses consciousness.

Refreshing to see we've managed 17 posts on the matchday thread without anyone calling this a "must win" game. Only a matter of time though surely....
We will win.

Yeah Somerset confirming on their facebook page that Rogers is due to bat at 3. Rogers is an excellent overseas signing, however I don't really get the Davies one, unless they've seen something in his batting which means he's under performing, he's barely played FC cricket but averages 6 and can't see any big ish scores in his recent innings. If he's a great glovesman why not just stick with Bates? Got to think he will be #2 whether we bring in someone else as #1 or Barrow is given a go (hopefully not).
I read somewhere that Davies' second-class average is in the early twenties, which is maybe more of an indication than the handful of FC games he's played but we'll see. I can't imagine that he'd leave Kent to come here if he hadn't been given some assurances regarding playing. Given that Billings is a part of England's T20 and ODI teams means that he'd get more cricket there than he would here if we brought in another WK.

Somerset sign Chris Rogers as the overseas player for next season.
Also signed Ryan Davies from Kent, the England U19 wicketkeeper. Can't say I know much about him.
Presumably Rogers' signing indicates that @GrahamC was correct that Abell will bat at three next season.

Annoying to concede late but not a bad point.

TOLD YOU SO!
Fair enough Phil.
It shouldn't have been that close, but a win's a win. Dead chuffed.
