  1. Seriously lacking wide players who have the ability and drive to get past a wing back and a striker who can link up play.
  2. Conway seems so weak. Mehmeti come out this second half? So much more is needed to get a win here
  3. We’re extremely narrow. As soon as Tanner or Pring get the ball, Mehmeti and Weimann run inside. When they are content at sitting in, you need to get them out of that shape and defending in wide areas. Looks a tired performance so far. Not terrible as we’re controlling the game, just don’t look like creating chances which is worrying
  4. Conway not in the game at all. Weimann has seemed to have lost all confidence in front of goal. Some really wild efforts. Same as Birmingham, that final bit of quality is what’s lacking
  5. Not a bad away performance. Defensively sound. Controlled the game. There’s one thing that’s bugged me for about 5 years… We can’t seem to trap a football. Weimann, would have been through if he could get the ball under control. Bell/Sykes, seemed to need an extra touch to get it under. Need more bite in the final third to challenge for the play offs, but not overly disappointed with that though
  6. Haha, brilliant is an overstatement. He was doing well out of possession. Covered Tanner well and pressed heavy/bad touches well. On the ball, there’s plenty more needed second half
  7. Someone else who’s watching the same game as me! As proven, we don’t have the ability to unlock teams who sit deep, having the ball in midfield and defence, on occasion, is drawing them out and giving us space to get into More chances will come second half
  8. They look nervy at the back as well, so allowing them to sit deep would only counteract this. Want them to be isolated
  9. I must have a different RobbinsTV stream. We are controlling the ball and look dangerous in their final third. With Sykes doing well. Just the majority of our possession is in our back 2 thirds, which has to be expected in this system. Draw teams on to you and then quickly get at them. The over hit passes in the final third are the only annoyance for me so far
  10. Thanks, had to close my browser completely. Swear it’s only RobbinsTV that has issues every game….
  11. I’m only going off when we’ve played their Reserves and A Teams, they mentioned they have to pay to use it. Seems odd if the club charge their Reserves/A’s to use a pitch they own.
  12. That game, with what I mentioned about the mentality of some of the squad off the back of the Utd game, and then even more so after the City away game probably made them think we weren’t up to it as a club. Win that game and the mentality quickly changes. I appreciate there was still half a season left, but from what I’ve been told, a few players had there agents tapping up prem clubs from as early as January. Explains the form second half of the season for sure, win that game and we’re in second, still in top form, going into January.
  13. Fantastic night, coupled with Man City away in the first leg were easily the best 2 games since Palace in the play offs. Unfortunately, this run exposed the lack of LJ’s man management skills. From what I’ve been told, a few stand out players had already lined up moves away after the run, thinking/knowing they could play in the Prem. Has to be one of the biggest highs to disappointments in a season? Being so close in December (still blame Fielding for the Wolves incident… he stays in his box and they level it, it’s still 11v10 with 30 mins to go, we still had the momentum to go and win it. Also LJ for keeping Flint up top even after we went 1-0 up..)
  14. Longwell Green not such a good example as they don’t own the pitch/facilities. Believe it’s owned by the Community Centre? Although extremely expensive, if it’s owned by the club they can be fantastic money spinners. Longwell Greens benefit is games don’t get called off. The club I’m involved with have spent a lot of money on drainage, but even the best drainage in non league will struggle to keep up with the rain we’ve had recently.
  15. For what it’s worth… LM got the job based off his work at Oxford. Look at League 1, there’s no giants in there anymore. Bolton and Pompey have been down in the lower leagues too long to be considered powerhouses. Derby are still rebuilding, and then Blackpool (mess), Reading (mess) and Wigan (mess) joined this season. Stevenage, Carlisle, Northampton and Leyton Orient are hardly large clubs either. My point, getting Oxford to 2nd is no real achievement as anyone from 1st to 14th could be in any of those positions and it wouldn’t look out of place. I don’t want to bash LM as it wasn’t his fault he was offered the job. But I’ve never felt like it was a progressive appointment and the results and performances seem to go hand in hand with that.
  16. Surprised it hasn’t been mentioned yet. But Meadow Lane is very good ground. Plenty of pubs nearby with a short walk from the centre to ground. Overall the ground is a perfect take on a rejuvenated old ground. Prefer it to the City Ground. Mainly because we’ve had more luck at County over Forest! Also enjoyed Carlisle, but that’s probably because of the journey up on the train more than anything else. Third on my list is probably Bramall Lane, good atmosphere with that bloody Chip Butty song. Nice ground and we seem to always take a decent number there and seem to do okay there!
  17. Bitterly disappointed, given f all to build the squad. Players seemed to love him. But because he couldn’t magic results with 10 players out injured, against 2 teams who are flying at the moment, that’s it… but as we now have to do this, I wouldn’t Scott Parker. Got out this league twice and if he’s backed, he has experience in picking up good players
  18. Just seen that, in the 9th tier of English Football, Worcester Raiders bs Worcester City attracted over 2,400 people! No other country like it!
  19. Watching Leeds last night and against Cardiff on the opening weekend. They don’t look too much of a threat (To the league, that is). I can’t say I’ve seen any team where I feel they are going to run away with the league. String a few wins and play offs are in question, lose a couple instead of sneaking a draw and relegation is a serious worry. Got to love the championship!
  20. I would say our decision making in the final third was poor. Wells had Bell tearing down the outside yet he opted to play a weak pass to Sykes who was marked towards the end of the first half. Bell should’ve had a shot when he nicked the ball back on the edge of the box. A few times the final ball wasn’t right. Today was okay, as Millwall were poor and we had plenty of the ball. When you’re playing a strong side you need to make sure that we create shooting opportunities when we have the ball in the final third. Don’t want to take anything away from today, as it’s different to go to a tricky ground and dominate the game without gifting chances away. 7.5/10 performance today
  21. Very well put and love the analytics on Twitter. Jason Knight looked good being the more progressive of the 3. Once that pre season rust comes off, he’ll be one hell of a player. James knows his job and does it very well and then you have the tenacity of Williams/Naismith. Scott will be a huge loss, but the midfield we have is very well balanced. Another creative/box to box type would compliment it further when Williams misses his 3 months of the season
  22. Just me who thinks they are very weak, concede far too many chances and arguably our worst CB partnerships since Fontaine and Al Abd. Would not surprise me if we concede the most goals in the championship with these two as a pairing *trying to ensure we aren’t jinxing them, very good today. Vyner or Beckenbaurer with some of his passes. Dickie, composed and solid.*
  23. For me, the teams coming down are a mess and not set up to compete straight away. Unlike Burnley last season, who kept a strong spine to their squad and added flair out wide and up top. Saints don’t scare me, they’ll do well but I can see us getting points off them. Leeds only scare me because I don’t think we’ve ever got points off them. But on paper their squad isn’t out this world, with players destined to leave as well. Leicester, having a complete overhaul. They produce talent through their youth system but their squad is aging. Saturday Tuesday games could hamper them and again, fancy us to get something against them. Sounds odd, but it’s fairly lucky the underdogs did well in the play offs, Coventry will almost certainly lose Hamer and Gyokeres, wouldn’t surprise me if they were mid table. Middlesbrough will be up there, wouldn’t be shocked to see WBA have a bounce back season and be in and around the playoffs with Millwall and Sunderland being up there as well. No reason we can’t join in with the Swansea’s, Blackburns, Preston’s who always seem to have a chance going into the final day. But it’s also in our locker to be in and around the Rotherham’s, QPR’s and Plymouth’s
  24. This is undoubtedly when I look like a tit. But there’s no string of games there, where I see us struggling.
